Brother Gyme Sunday Evening 5/11/14
Gal 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto
liberty; only use not liberty for an
occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
Gal 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as
thyself.
Gal 5:15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take
heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
You have been called to liberty: not bondage.
By love serve one another. We
need to be actuated by love, our service should be out of love for one another
and for the lost. If we take “Thou shalt
love thy neighbor as thyself,” and apply that to our lives then it would be
hard to be wrong if we treat others as we would like to be treated. It removes the condemnation.
I have been in the hospital setting for 10 years and have
done more than 1000 procedures. I am
often reminded, “Be sure you treat them as you would like your mom to be
treated.” If I do that then it makes it
better. It makes for a good garden and
good fruit if we do this.
Gal 5:16 This I
say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
This how we keep this liberty. Walk in the Spirit.
Gal 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and
the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so
that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
The fountain cannot have both bitter water and sweet. Those that confess to be a Christian and cuss
out of one side of their mouth but praise God out of the other… I want to be a little stronger against that
this year.
You cannot do that.
Gal 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not
under the law.
Gal 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest,
which are these; Adultery, fornication,
uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Gal 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance,
emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Gal 5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings,
and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things
shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Those are fruits of the flesh. They are what the flesh produces every
time. They which do such things shall
not inherit the kingdom of God.
Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy,
peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is
no law.
Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the
flesh with the affections and lusts.
Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in
the Spirit.
Gal 5:26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory,
provoking one another, envying one another.
The way of the righteous:
Psa 1:1 Blessed is
the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way
of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
Guided, honest, prosperous is the man that walketh not in
the counsel of the ungodly. Don’t walk
in the counsel with them. Don’t stand
with them. Don’t be with them. If you are not influencing the conversation
or the conduct then you shouldn’t be around them. We are either going to be the influencer or
the influencee.
Sits in the seat of the scornful: those that deride, laugh at, or make fun of
the gospel way. That spirit seems to be
let loose in the world. They want to
shut you down and make fun of you and the standards that you hold.
Blessed is the man that doesn’t walk in that way, guided and
prosperous.
Jas 3:13 Who is
a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good
conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
Knowledge – intelligence.
Conversation – life. Let Him show
out of his life his works with meekness of wisdom.
Jas 3:14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in
your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
Jas 3:15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
Jas 3:16 For where envying and strife is, there is
confusion and every evil work.
We are going to produce something; those that have fleshly
wisdom will produce strife and confusion.
1Co 14:33 For God is not the
author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
Isa 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace;
and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
If we have a garden and it produces fruit in peace, there must
be righteousness there.
Isa 32:18 And my people shall dwell in a peaceable
habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places;
Jas 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first
pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy
to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without
hypocrisy.
Jas 3:18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in
peace of them that make peace.
Pure - Innocent, modest, perfect. Peaceable – to be at peace, quietness, rest,
set at one again.
The wisdom from above never works division but always works
unity. It should bring together and
always work unity.
Gentle – appropriate.
The wisdom from above is always appropriate. God is always appropriate. He knows how to work in every situation. Mild, gentle, moderation, and is
patient.
The fruit of righteousness is sown in peace. That is what we want to sow in our garden,
the fruit of righteousness.
Rom 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink;
but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
These are all things that we want in our garden.
Rom 14:18 For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.
Rom 14:19 Let us therefore follow after the things
which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
The word ‘edify’ means to build up: The act of building or
building up, one who promotes another’s growth in Christian wisdom.
We have been taught that our job as the church is to edify
one another, to grow spiritually and be concerned about everyone’s garden, to
reach the lost, edify and build up, build our garden.
Psa 1:2 But his delight is
in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
The word law means precept:
Precept upon precept line upon line, here a little and there a little.
From Oswald Chambers about being careful. Be careful not to worship, worship. Be careful that we don’t get so caught up in
the worship that that becomes it. We
don’t want it to be it, we want to worship God.
If we worship God, then all these other things will come into
place.
The danger in the law part of it we get to thinking, “My
skirt is the right length, my hair is just right” and that is the law part of
it, “I am doing ok, I come every Sunday and I do those things.” That is not it. The result comes from worshipping God.
Worship the Father and then the result is that we have
fellowship one with another.
Php 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are
true, whatsoever things are honest,
whatsoever things are just, whatsoever
things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there
be any praise, think on these things.
God gives us the precepts and then tells us to meditate on
those things that are good and lovely.
Jas 2:8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the
scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
Psa 1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the
rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also
shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
If we do these things then we will be like the tree planted
by the rivers of water. How they watered
in the east is by rivers and canals. So
they could water as they needed. These
trees planted by the river always had water when they needed.
We want a garden that has just the right amount of water and
nutrients. We must take out the weeds
and cultivate the soil.
What does it take to do a good garden? There is more to it than just throwing the
seed out there. There is a process to
get the fruit.
Rev 22:1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of
life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
Rev 22:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on
either side of the river, was there the
tree of life, which bare twelve manner of
fruits, and yielded her fruit every
month: and the leaves of the tree were
for the healing of the nations.
God has a way of making our lives fruitful and helping us to
have a good garden. It is not always
putting stuff in. Sometimes there is the
rock removal and getting the weeds out.
That is not always so pleasant.
Getting the weeds out is a continual working.
Eze 47:7 Now when I had returned, behold, at the bank
of the river were very many trees on the
one side and on the other.
Eze 47:8 Then said he unto me, These waters issue out
toward the east country, and go down into the desert, and go into the sea: which being brought forth into the sea, the
waters shall be healed.
Eze 47:9 And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth,
whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very
great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they
shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the river cometh.
Eze 47:10 And it shall come to pass, that the fishers shall stand upon it from Engedi
even unto Eneglaim; they shall be a place
to spread forth nets; their fish shall be according to their kinds, as the fish
of the great sea, exceeding many.
Eze 47:11 But the miry places thereof and the marishes
thereof shall not be healed; they shall be given to salt.
Eze 47:12 And by the river upon the bank thereof, on
this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not
fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new
fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the
sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for
medicine.
