Brother Gary Kelly Sunday Morning 6/29/14

Brother Gary Kelly Sunday Morning 6/29/14
Mat 13:1  The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side.
Mat 13:2  And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.
Mat 13:3  And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
Mat 13:4  And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
Mat 13:5  Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
Mat 13:6  And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
Mat 13:7  And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:
Mat 13:8  But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.

“Who has ears to hear let him hear.”  I trust this morning that this audience has an ear to hear what the Spirit has to say to the church.  It is vital to us maintaining life.  If there are areas that you need to be challenged and cleansed and lacks that you need to be healed of, then the scripture says to confess your faults that you may be healed.

Mat 13:18  Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.
Mat 13:19  When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

If you have heard and understand the Word of the Kingdom this morning, if you know what the word, “repent,” means then you are blessed.

It means to confess your sins to God and turn away from your sin.  Those that have heard the Word of the Kingdom and did not understand it… You and I would like to have a greater understanding to help souls understand the word of the Kingdom.

It is not our desire that any be lost, or wayside soil.  It is not our desire that the enemy steal that which was sown.  That is known as wayside soil.

We have been taught right that it is the design of God to meet with us every morning in devotions and that we receive from God’s Word every day as we walk with God.

I am also convinced that it is also God’s will to give you a song.  There is such a power in a song.  You may wish that you had lived in the days of DS Warner and know firsthand the story behind many of the hymns.  We were not born then but we are blessed to have the benefit of the beautiful songs that they received from God.

God wants to give you a song.  There is such a power in the Word of God and there is such a power in a song.  It is evidence that we have come to Zion when we have a song from God.  If you do then you will set the tempo of your day and of your conversation and set your soul to receive more and more from God.

The wayside soil is that they did not understand the Word.  Jesus passed by and the Word of God was sown.  Jesus was so kind that He didn’t just sow to His family, or to those around where He lived.  He willingly sowed the seed.

The saddest thing is when individuals don’t allow that seed to be received and grow in another’s heart and life.  The enemy, or wicked one comes and snatches it away.

It leaves my heart burdened.  I have some really good friends whom the seed of the word of God has been snatched away.

Mat 13:20  But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;
Mat 13:21  Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

We have all met individuals that upon hearing that they could be forgiven of their sin, they respond rapidly.  They want the experience that frees them from their sin, a good desire.  Yet they don’t have root in themselves.

If you are working with someone that has never had discipline in their life.  We have a grave responsibility to help people to learn to be responsible, to hear and receive instruction and that they have the attitude, “I want to be taught, I don’t know everything.”

There are individuals that have come into this world and because their parents are not responsible they have never learned to be disciplined.  Some parents want to teach responsibility but the children are difficult to teach.

I don’t believe that every person of a certain nationality is ignorant.  With proper training and a relationship with God they can become as a watered garden.

We know that there are those in this audience that as a child were belittled and beat down and as they matured the events of life caused them to be in situations where they were attacked.  It can happen in families; it will not happen at our house.

Grandpas are to be treated with respect.  My wife doesn’t have the sharpest husband in the world but she respects me.  There is not one in this audience or with those that will hear this tape that is not of value.

This word of God is powerful.  If you are in this audience and have not reached the place of good ground, God has all the tools, if you will present the vessel and pay the price to be good ground then you can be good ground.  If you will present the vessel, you can do 100% for God.

If you will put enough effort into a garden, you can take poor soil and work that soil, it can be good ground.  If you will work and work and work literally and spiritually then you can be 100%.

This soil that had no root in themselves, which was in the stony places, they received it but the ground hadn’t been worked.  We have to let God work with our ground.  Say, “God I want you to take that stone, that fault, out of me.  I am not happy with being on fire for God one day and then withering.  I must get those roots down.”

If there is something in your life that you can only go so far and then you hit a stony spot, we have a God that created dynamite.  You can break through.  You don’t have to accept ugliness or mean tongues that beat you to pieces.  You can go past that shelf that has always hindered you.

That wayside soil: beat down oppressed, walked upon; the stony soil: uncultivated, cultivate the best of manners.  I am ready for the lessons on manners.  We live in a world of rude people, but we don’t want to be rude.  We want to teach people how to have excellent manners.

Uncultivated:  how are your talents this morning?  Are they laying there unused?  You can get the roots down but you must get the rocks out.  Some places, which we have seen, take the rocks out and use them for fences.  We must get the rocks out of our land.

The stony soul lacks root, lacks vision, and then becomes offended.  “When the mountains get too steep to climb, tell the mountain, You are wrong.  I’m going to climb.”

That is where spirituality and character come in and faith and works, “I am going to reach the top.”

Mat 13:22  He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.

Sometimes we cannot see ourselves and that is the reason that sometimes we need someone with a backbone that, not in a mean way, can help us to see.

Mat 13:23  But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

We all recognize how much work there is to get done in summer.  We must not allow the cares to choke the Word of God.

I am just a little part in the church here at Paradise.  Jesus is the head of the church and He is who the church revolves around.

Your life needs to revolve not around your job, your debts, or your bank account; our life must revolve around Jesus Christ.  If it doesn’t then whatever it is that it revolves around will choke the Word.

Whether the cares: our house has a place that needs painted and the fence does too, but we cannot allow the cares to choke the Word of God.  Whether you do or don’t have your winter’s wood, don’t let it choke the Word of God.

The deceitfulness of riches:  You know my opinion on money:  God will take care of us.  You need enough to take care of your bills, make your tithes, entertain the saints, but don’t think that your million in the bank will do anything for you.

I recently did a service for a man that thought, “The barns are full; I’ll build more.”  Riches are deceitful.  Don’t think that riches will bring you happiness.  Gifts and wealth, the inheritance, if you get it, will soon be gone.  They will not make you happy.

When troubles come, because of the Word, you and I have to have it settled because of the Word of God.  There will be times when you take a stand for Jesus that someone will elbow you, have a mean tongue and spirit.

You and I have to have it settled, “When people elbow me, stiff arm me, give me a mean remark that they know will cut me to the core, I’m going to go right on serving God.”  For we know that if we don’t we will become full of thorns.

God is so good that He begins bringing us His Word and then He begins bringing us understanding.  When the apostasy began to come and dad looked and said, “That cannot be right.”  Then God sent His Word and began to shed His light upon that Word.  More understanding and more came and then he said, “Oh God I will obey.”

Whatever God spoke to you about in the past, He sent His Word, you felt the hunger, the conviction, and the weight of the Word, and you knew that if you did it there would be a cost.  The attitude is, “I am going to pay the cost.  For more than anything else I want to bear fruit for God.”

Jer 9:23  Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:
Jer 9:24  But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.

This scripture tells us that that guy that thinks he really knows everything of the world, God doesn’t take pleasure in that.  That man that is power hungry, boasts about this and that, “I am the head of this.”  The scripture says, “No.”

This is what God says, “Him that glories let him glory that he understands and knows me.”  Isn’t it wonderful to understand and know God?

He is the Lord that exercises loving kindness.  He exercises judgment.  God is always faithful to show what is right and what is wrong.  He is always faithful to say, “My child don’t go that way.  Come this way.”  God is always faithful when you come to Him in prayer and say, God I am going to need you today.  How faithful and good God is!

God is always righteous.  He always does right by every situation.

Jer 31:12  Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the LORD, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.

God wants you to have a song.  It is either from the scripture, or one that has been recorded in the hymnal or God wants to give you a song in your heart.  Bring your song tonight.  You say, “I don’t have a song.”

How come you have been cheated out of having a song?  “I don’t think I am far enough up the mountain to have a song.”  Get the right backpack and the right things in it.  Climb the mountain until God gives you a song.

Climbing a mountain and becoming one with God and His people brings a unity that the devil cannot divide.

Their soul shall be like a watered garden:  My challenge to myself and you this morning as we are in the season where we have a garden.  The bean seed, not even a half inch, we plant them and water and then soon there is a bean plant that begins to grow.

You are not happy then.  You want to see some fruit.  May God help you and I to say, “God we want you to plant the seed in my heart, the saints want to cultivate and water.

Sister Darla cannot plant the seed.  You must allow God to plant it in your heart.  If there is something that is wrong in your heart then you need to say, “I will repent of it.  I want that seed to grow.  I don’t want just the bush, I don’t want it just to grow, but that there would be fruit.”

Jas 2:1  My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.

We are not to respect people.  We are to treat everyone as we would have them treat us.  We should start in the house of God but don’t let it stay there; we should have this rule everywhere.

Lev 19:15  Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.

Whether someone is rich or poor is to have no bearing on how we treat them.  In the natural man it is easier to treat the one that is clean and so on better.

1Ti 5:21  I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.

Treat not with partiality.

Jas 2:2  For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;
Jas 2:3  And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:
Jas 2:4  Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?
Jas 2:5  Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?

Sometimes the ‘poorness’ is understanding where we are at in life.  We need God.  It means also poor in spirit.

When people get wealthy they seem to get emptier.  They pursue more and more things to try to satisfy themselves and then only seem emptier yet.  People sometimes respect that person because of their wealth and they come to think it their due.

Whether I have 100 dollars or 10 dollars it is not important.  What is important is understanding where I came from.

Jas 2:6  But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?
Jas 2:7  Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?

In that day they could only have the thought that they were going to have justice before God as Christians.  The rich men oppressed them.

Jas 2:8  If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:

How important it is:  If we treat people just exactly as we would like to be treated then that is how we will be judged.  He will judge us with the same mercy and that same measuring stick.

Lev 19:18  Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.

Lev 19:34  But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

He is telling us to remember where we came from.  Remember when you were in sin and were in bondage.  Remember where we have been.

Sometimes other people cannot believe where we came from.  It is only because of God and He has this for everyone.

The teaching in the Old Testament was that when a person was adopted then they actually took position in the lineage of the family.  Isn’t that good of God?  We can be grafted into the royal family.  They became an equal heir with the born children.

Mat 22:37  Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Mat 22:38  This is the first and great commandment.
Mat 22:39  And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Mat 22:40  On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

That sums up the whole thing.  Sometimes people make it so difficult, they get all muddled down and question doctrine.  This sums it up.  Treat others as you would want to be treated.  Doing this takes care of all the questions and all the strife.

Mar 12:29  And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
Mar 12:30  And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
Mar 12:31  And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
Mar 12:32  And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:
Mar 12:33  And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.

Rom 13:8  Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
Rom 13:9  For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Rom 13:10  Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Brother Gary Wednesday Evening 6/25/14

Brother Gary Wednesday Evening 6/25/14
Mat 6:24  No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

It is true and it is right that mammon is money and riches; anything of this world could be thought of as worldly mammon if you make it your source of confidence, trust, and help.

Jesus taught this to help you and me to see that God is going to take care of us.  In this county, the state of Montana, and throughout the world, there are millions that have as their focus the enjoyment of the things of this world.  There are a lot of things in this world to enjoy but if people don’t have God first and concern for their soul first then they don’t enjoy them.

Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you.
Jesus taught us to seek His kingdom first and all these things shall be added unto you.  We don’t need to worry about things.

Mat 6:34  Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

I brought this to emphasize to me and to you that as much as we enjoy a new tea kettle, (it is an important factor if you make press pot coffee or as you come to ward canning season), that will not satisfy your soul.
It takes more than a musical instrument to satisfy the soul.  It takes the reality of Jesus Christ, it takes our sin being forgiven, and it takes the nature being sanctified.

God doesn’t want us worrying about tomorrow.  The emphasis needs to be, “How is it with your soul?”

In Genesis 2:7 it tells us that God formed man of the dust of the earth and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul.

The emphasis is the soul.  Nothing that we can have will substitute.  If your child came to you 20,000 dollars short, what they really need is to get saved.  I am pretty often short but if I was long, there would be no satisfaction to my soul, it takes Jesus.

I am not saying to not help people, I want to emphasize that our emphasis is “How is it with your soul?”  If they don’t want to hear about their soul but only what you can give them then they are takers and are using you.

Isa 58:9  Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;

You saints are not in bondage; that is not how the church of God operates.  You are free.  That is not saying that you do not have responsibility or that I do not have authority, but we are not a bunch of zombies in bondage.

Bondage is “I piped and you didn’t dance.”

The putting forth of the finger: one of the worst spirits that you can get under is a faultfinding spirit.  If you get under one then no one can do it right, there is nothing that is right and yet you are the one that is wrong.

There will be those that will bait you to be a faultfinder.  Don’t pick that up.  If you do, then confess your fault and ask God to help you.

Watch your words, don’t speak vanity.  Be careful what you talk about.  Don’t spend much time on things that are not of an eternal value.  It is not the last sale; until the last song and Jesus comes there will be another sale.

Isa 58:10  And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday:
Isa 58:11  And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

If you draw out your soul to the hungry.  Souls are so hungry, we want to be a hungry church, not hungry for gossip, hungry for God, hungry to carry these burdens, hungry for prayer, hungry to supplicate.

If you don’t know how to supplicate, get a hold of me or one of these saints that know how to supplicate.  We must practice that.  It is getting a hold of God and begging Him to hold back those evil spirits.

Supplicate, intercede.  Satisfy the afflicted soul.  That soul that is hurting so bad.  It happens.  There is nothing like someone pouring the love of God, oil and the Spirit of God into your soul.

We don’t know everything or how to handle everything.  We don’t know what the next step is.  God help me to quit finding fault, talking vanity, so that I will know the way.

Thou shalt be like a watered garden, whose waters fail not

Jer 31:12  Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the LORD, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.

Make sure you have a song.  “Don’t pity me dear friends, I’m richly blessed.”  God has a happy song.
I could envision Brother Chancellor as he wrote, “I’ve found a second grace here is my rest.”  God wants everyone to have a song.  It will take care of a lot of troubles.

Their soul shall be like a watered garden.

Take a good look at a watered garden.  It is beautiful.  It comes over the pots.  It gets greener everyday and sprouts up.  You can almost watch the tomatoes grow.  That is how God wants our garden.

Psa 86:2  Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee.

Jud 1:1  Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:
Jud 1:2  Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.

Let Him preserve you.  Let Him hold you in His hand.  Let His Word and Spirit guide, keep, and preserve you.

Called:  Know your calling.  You are called.  You say, “I am not called.”  You are not copping out like that.  Don’t believe the lie of the devil like that.

Mercy multiplied, peace multiplied, love multiplied.

I am convicted that we as a church can receive an anointing that perceives the need of children, young people, and adults.
