Brother Gary Wednesday Evening 6/18/14
Psa 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto
him, and bless his name.
There are three places in the Bible that the word ‘thankful’
is mentioned, two are positive and one is alarming.
This is the only place in the Old Testament that the word, thankful,
appears.
Rom 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they
glorified him not as God, neither were
thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was
darkened.
This scripture leads me to believe that these people started
out serving God. One of the devil’s
tools is to get people to not be thankful.
These people failed to be thankful.
When people fail to be thankful it affects them mentally.
Not being thankful leads to people becoming filled with
something else.
Rom 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness,
fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder,
debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Covetousness is the thing that brings discontentment. We as adults need to practice being
thankful. We need to teach our children
to be thankful.
Col 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts,
to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
This is something that we have to let. God is not a bully. He will not bull you into
being thankful.
Mat 18:11 For the Son of man is
come to save that which was lost.
Mat 18:12 How think ye? if a
man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave
the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is
gone astray?
Mat 18:13 And if so be that he
find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety
and nine which went not astray.
Mat 18:14 Even so it is not the
will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should
perish.
Jesus is come to save that which was lost. Jesus wanted us to grasp how important one
soul is. There were 99 safe in the fold,
but there was one lost. It is too much for
one person to contact and minister to all the burdens that come in. But God wants us to deal with the individual.
It is vital that we don’t have the elder brother syndrome. When someone gets saved, they are the most
special little sheep in the fold. All the
rest want to rejoice and love them.
It is not God’s will that any perish. For each request brought in, it is not God’s
will that any perish. You have the
promise here.
Luk 15:3 And he spake this parable unto them, saying,
Luk 15:4 What man of you,
having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and
nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
Luk 15:5 And when he hath
found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
Luk 15:6 And when he cometh
home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me;
for I have found my sheep which was lost.
Luk 15:7 I say unto you, that
likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over
ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
Sometimes people get lost for whatever reason. This shows that He doesn’t give up. He prays, keeps praying, tills the soil,
plants the seed, loves, and prays again.
He does everything that God puts on His heart to do.
Let’s get ready for a rejoicing.
Jas 5:16 Confess your
faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The
effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
