Brother Gary Wednesday Evening 5/14/14

My Mother’s Song:
I saw a blood washed pilgrim, a sinner saved by grace,
Upon the King’s highway, with peaceful, shining face;
Temptations sore beset her, but nothing could afright;
She said, “The yoke is easy, the burden, it is light.”

Chorus
Then palms of victory, crowns of glory,
Palms of victory I shall wear.

Her helmet was salvation, a simple faith her shield,
And righteousness her breastplate, the Spirit’s sword her wield.
All fiery darts arrested, and quenched their blazing flight;
She cried, “The yoke is easy, the burden, it is light.”

I saw her in the furnace; she doubted not nor feared,
And in the flames beside her, the Son of God appeared;
Though seven times ‘twas heated, with all the tempter’s might,
She cried, “the yoke is easy, the burden, it is light.”

‘Mid storms, and clouds, and trials, in prison, at the stake,
She leaped for joy, rejoicing, ‘twas all for Jesus’ sake;
That God should count her worthy, was such supreme delight;
She cried, “The yoke is easy, the burden, is so light.”

I saw her overcoming, through all the swelling strife,
Until she crossed the threshold of God’s eternal life;
The crown, the throne, the scepter, the name, the stone so white,
Were hers, who found, in Jesus, the yoke and burden light.

Joh 16:33  These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Rev 2:7  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

Every church age was faced with obstacles.  The message to each was, “To him that overcometh…”
The hidden manna:  there is spiritual food on the table of show bread and in the Holiest of Holies.  We must overcome so that we receive our spiritual food when we come to church Wednesday, Sunday, and all through the week.

1Jn 2:13  I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father.
1Jn 2:14  I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.

Young men and ladies must have it settled that the goal of their life is to overcome the wicked one.  There is an adversary that plans to overcome every child.  We don’t need to be taught, we know that Satan is loosed out of his prison.  The enemy is out to destroy little children.

Little children you have a wonderful blessing afforded you by God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit of God that you know God as a child.  Children, what you put into your mind is what is going to go over and over and over and over there just like a Ferris wheel.

What you put in your mind is just like something that is put on a Ferris wheel, it goes around and it comes around.  We must have an attitude, “I want my thoughts to be wholesome and good thoughts so that I can be prepared to be all that God would want me to be.”

We have the opportunity of changing what is on the mind of our Ferris wheel.  We can get thoughts, “It is so hard to be a Christian,” and soon you believe it.  You can have the thought, “It pays to be saved.”  We can train ourselves the value of a good life, of a good friendship.

“Ye have overcome the wicked one.”

1Jn 4:4  Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Greater is He that is in you: We must have this alive and real as an overcomer.  Palms of victory …
The yoke is easy and burden light.  We must know how to position ourselves so that we are not overburdened with all that comes around.

We need to realize what a treasure we have in God the Father.  “I go to God and I go to your God, my father and your father.”

The greatest challenge we will have is to get to that place where we crucify the flesh so that we can be an overcomer.  We will never be an overcomer if there is one thread of carnality.  It will spring up and cause a smell.

Rev 12:9  And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Rev 12:10  And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
Rev 12:11  And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

This is a present reality in 2014.  The devil is out to destroy whoever he can.  Now is come salvation: deliverance, help safety, victory, and strength.  One of the thoughts of being virtuous is having strength.

You might say, “My strength is little.”  Use your little strength to exercise faith in God.  When you do, then God begins to go to work for you and greater is He that is in you then He that is in the world.

The accuser of our brethren is cast down.  We want to live so that there is nothing to accuse.  Don’t have your life all muddled up with things you wish you hadn’t done and so on.

He is cast down and they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony.

2Pe 2:19  While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
2Pe 2:20  For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
2Pe 2:21  For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

We are living in the days as they were in the days of Noah.  The whole earth is filled with corruption.  My mind gets boggled at the corruption that is in the world today.  The only imagination of their mind was evil continually.

That is alive today.  Think how it is.  It is affecting men and women that we love and care for today.  We don’t want to cover sin wherever it is.

When the enemy visits any of us…, he does.  We are not above being tired or being offered anything that he has to offer.  He comes with the thought of getting us to respond to whatever he presents us.  “I’m going to present this to see if they will be overcome.”

This is a wake up scripture to Gary Kelly.  All I need to do is let down a little bit.  The enemy will come in like a flood and he has something to present no matter how old you are.  He loves to have individuals yield to the attitude, the battle, the thought, the whatever.  As you yield he comes to overcome.  Once we have been saved, if we turn back on God then 2 Peter 2:21, 22.

And have tasted of the word of God and of the world to come.  We have thousands of taste buds in our mouth.

After all that God has done for us:  Remember that night when the burden of sin rolled away.  When the struggle of unrest and unable to be contented was taken away, we prayed and prayed to have the carnal man removed and we entered into that rest.

2Pe 2:21  For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
2Pe 2:22  But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

Rev 17:8  The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

Rev 17:11  And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
Rev 17:12  And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
Rev 17:13  These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
Rev 17:14  These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
Rev 17:15  And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
Rev 17:16  And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
Rev 17:17  For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.

When men and women get under a spirit that they fight truth, don’t you sympathize with that spirit.

God has sheep that hear His voice.  In order to remain his sheep then we must obey His voice.  When we go among those that are under spirits that are contrary to the true spirit of God:  They think, “Everybody is saved.”

These shall make war with the lamb.  The Lamb shall overcome them.  Our only hope of heaven is staying true to God and being like my mother’s song.

‘Mid storms, and clouds, and trials, in prison, at the stake,
She leaped for joy, rejoicing, ‘twas all for Jesus’ sake;
That God should count her worthy, was such supreme delight;
She cried, “The yoke is easy, the burden, is so light.”

I saw her overcoming, through all the swelling strife,
Until she crossed the threshold of God’s eternal life;
The crown, the throne, the scepter, the name, the stone so white,
Were hers, who found, in Jesus, the yoke and burden light.

Don’t think that everything is going to be rosy because you are saved and sanctified.

I believe that there is a radiance, a shining forth from the countenance of those that are overcomers.

I see these long faced Babylonians, whatever they get to keep, their customs, their rebellion, they would never support a pastor, they take a tithe but would never pay one.  They wander here or there.  No one is quite right but them.  The non radiance on their face lets me know that they have no victory whatsoever.

The overcomers have a radiance.

The crown the throne the scepter, think of the scepter on the Ferris wheel.  There are some things that you need going over in your mind.  Prayer is not just you talking, you closing your eyes.  You need to be reverent.

The other thing about prayer has to do with a scepter.  When you approach Jesus, the King of kings, He takes that rod of authority and says, “What do you have to say?  I am ready to hear from you.”  Jesus wants to hear you telling Him, how much you love Him.  How much you need His grace and need protected.

He wants to hear you praying, “Help me to be obedient to my parents, to my teacher.”  He wants to hear individuals that are 67 saying, “I want to please you to do your will, to be edifying, to have spiritual life.”  I carry the same name, but I have a new name.  I have the same parents but I have new parent.

These shall make war with the lamb and the lamb shall overcome them.

We have a Jesus Christ that is an overcomer.  We live in a world that is full of lukewarmness, indifference, cares of life, deceit, deceitfulness of riches.

Every week the thought comes, “Calm down and drift.”  Drift where?  I’ve seen the effects of too many people drifting.  Those that said, “I’ve seen more than anyone else.”  It is a fatal drift.

We can be an overcomer.
