Brother Gyme Sunday Evening 4/10/16

Psa 121:1  A Song of degrees. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

We want to keep our eyes up.  Have you ever seen someone walking with their eyes downcast, all hung down?  If we are feeling downcast, we want to keep our eyes up so that we can get what we need and go where we need to go.

Timberly and I took a defensive shooting class and he taught that we need to focus our eyes on the target that we want to shoot at and in doing that we will shoot where we are looking.  We want to keep our eyes on God and keep our eyes on the goal so that is where we end up.

In sports we want to teach our students to look up and not be looking at their feet.  When you drive a car you want to be focused out ahead of you, not on the road in front of you or you will be all over the road.

Psa 121:2  My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

I will set my mental and physical capacity on heaven.

Psa 46:1  To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, A Song upon Alamoth. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

God is so faithful but if we don’t look to him for our help and keep our eyes on Him we will not receive the help that we need.

Hope thou in God.  Our hope is in God. That is where we want to look.  What you think on, what you dwell upon is what your mind will think upon.  We want to keep our eyes upon the Lord.

Psa 146:5  Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God:

Whose expectation is in the Lord, their God: Are we expecting good things?  It is important that we expect good things.  Madison has taken up running.  She runs a lot further than I want to.  She runs the mile and the two mile.  She has to have the expectation that she can run two miles in order to run successfully.

Are we looking intently at the things that God wants to supply to us?

Psa 46:2  Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

There will be troubling times, obstacles, and we will get tired.  We will become worn out.  This doesn’t need to discourage us.  God is our refuge.  He will give us hope, He will renew us and give us strength.  If we keep our eyes on the hills from whence comes our help, He will help us to get to our expected end.

With all the technology and the information that you can get, then you can easily become discouraged.  There will be things that come to us that trouble us.  There will be trying times, things that don’t go our way and things that we don’t understand.  But God has not changed.  Our expectation is in Him.

Psa 46:3  Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

Psa 46:4  There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

Rev 22:1  And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

Proceeding out of the throne of God:  This is from the source, from Mount Zion.

Psa 46:5  God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

God is not going to let us go through anything that we cannot handle.

Psa 121:2  My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

My personality is that I am always in a hurry and try to get way too many things done.  Sometimes I am convicted to just stop and take in what is around me.  It just works to settle your mind.

When we see God’s creation it speaks to us.  Everything works together and works perfectly.  God set it into motions.  God made heaven and earth.  He is more than able to help us.

Isa 40:28  Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

Psa 139:14  I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

Psa 139:15  My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

Curiously wrought means embroidered.  There are about 3,000,000,000 DNA.  They are formed in a double helix.  There are five bars that go between them.  They are all intertwined like they are embroidered.

God created you, he put you all together.  Out of the 3,000,000,000 you have a code that is specifically you.  The DNA is as the cookbook.  It is the map of everything that is going to happen in you.  It works perfectly.  The God that created this DNA knows exactly what you need.  We are small.

We look to the hills from whence comes our help.  He knows exactly what you need.

The enemy tries to discourage you and try to make you think that you are the only one that has ever had a problem like this.  There is nothing new under the sun.  God knows you personally.

I am glad that God knows all the quirks in my personality that no one understands.  God knows and God understands.

Isa 40:29  He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

Isa 40:30  Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:

How many times have you tried to do something in your own strength and failed?  When we are young we think that somehow it will not affect us that somehow we are going to be special and different.  Even the youth, their strength shall fail.

Isa 40:31  But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
