Brother Gary Sunday Morning 4/10/16

Brother Gary Sunday Morning 4/10/16

Rev 6:1  And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.

Come and see.

God wants to not only speak those things to us that we hear in our ears, but it is a great need of the hour that God would speak to us in our heart that His seed would be sown in our heart, that we would understand, love, and measure to it.

God said that the Lamb opened the seals.  Jesus must reveal the Revelations to us or you and I will be bewildered, confused, and think we know but not know.  When God reveals something to us, the Spirit of God will witness, “This is truth.”

It is the desire of every individual that knows God to know truth.

One of the living creatures, it doesn’t say which one, said, “Come and see.”

Every one of us needs a vision.  “Lord give me a vision.”  Many in this audience has cried out in darkness, “Lord give me a vision so that I can find my way to you, truth, and the body of Christ.”

You and I are invited to come and see.

The lesson this morning deals with the white horse.  In a world that is contaminated, full of sin, hypocrisy, ungodliness, and many things that are disappointing, God ordained His Holy Spirit and power represented by the white horse.  White horse representing purity, strength, and power.

There was a rider sitting on the white horse.  It is Jesus Christ.  Weigh it heavy.  If it is truth it will witness to your heart.  He was covered by a bow, a rainbow representing the promises of God.  He was wearing a crown.  He wore the crown of thorns for you and me.  They took a stick and hit the crown of thorns.  He did it all for you and me.  We can thank God for that.

The second crown that He is wearing now is a crown of victory.  We can thank God that you and I have a designated leader, Jesus Christ.

Isa 55:4  Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.

It is wonderful to be following a crowned leader that fought the battle through.

Herod had a plan to destroy Jesus early in His life.  Jesus was tempted many times in his life.  When you are tempted in your mind that is not sin.  When you yield to the temptation that is sin.  Jesus never yielded to the temptation.

Temptation comes to all.  I am amazed that as old as I am the devil still comes to try to tempt me here or there or somewhere else.  These children that have not come to the age of accountability we thank God for them and at this season in their life they are covered by the atonement of Jesus Christ.  It is not long until they begin to know the difference between right and wrong and they become accountable.

When the enemy tempted Him to fall down off of the high pinnacle Jesus said, “Thou shalt not tempt the Lord Thy God.  Man shall not live by bread alone.”  We have gone through many things.  God has never failed us.

One time my boss asked me to quit.  He wanted to fire me.  Months later he saw my wife and asked her if I had a job.  She said, “No.  He is out looking.”  He told her, “Tell him to come to me.”  He told me that I could have my old job back and he would give me a raise.

Jesus fought the battle through.  He won the victory.  He obtained the crown.  Jesus is the white horse rider.  Jesus always comes with the bow: the promises of God.

You might be here in sin and deeply convicted of your sin, of your worldliness, or of your failure to God and to others.  Jesus comes with a rainbow, seven beautiful colors blended in.  He gives the promise that every need will be fully satisfied.

You might be going through a season of seeking the will of God.  You might be weighing somethings very heavy, “God this will cost me so much.”  Jesus understands.  He was in Gethsemane alone.

Sometimes we have things that we cannot tell anyone.  That is a difficult position to be in.  It is wonderful to have someone that you can go to and say, “May I unburden my heart, tell you that which is on my heart, so that you will know how to pray?”

The lot is cast into the lot of the Lord and the whole disposing thereof is of the lord. Proverbs 16:33

Rev 6:1  And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.

When you have something that is really big that you Rev 6:1  And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.

praying and seeking God about, you can bring it to Jesus and put it in the lap of the Lord, “However you want to work, Lord, whatever you want to do, that is what I want.  I know it will be best.”

Jesus conquered but He didn’t stop there.  He is going forth to conquer.  The power of a resurrected son of God!  Every one of us needs to come and see.  Jesus Christ is just the same today.  His power has not in any way diminished in Him being crucified.  He rose again and we thank God for that.

Jesus Christ only deals in purity, holiness, and righteousness.  There is no respecter of persons with Him.  We are glad for those that are here that can think deep.

You might be here and think, “I don’t have it together socially, I don’t have book learning, and when I play baseball I always hit fouls.”  Come and see Jesus.  There is no respecter of persons with Him.  He has already paid the price.  He will meet every need that an individual has.

Jesus brings the rainbow.  We wouldn’t get all the promises if we preached after noon to midnight.

It was after the obedience of Noah:  He had built the ark.  He had done all that God told him to do.  After he came out of the ark, he built an altar and worshipped.  God promised, “As long as time remains, there will be seed time and harvest.  I will put a bow in the sky.  It represents my covenant that I will no more destroy mankind with water.”

Christ overcame all the temptations in life.  He overcame the enemy of death.  Jesus leads us to victory every time.  I don’t know what you will face this afternoon or tomorrow, but this I know.  Jesus always leads to victory.

Isaiah wrote that Jesus would be a witness.  You can know when God is dealing with you.  There are many voices that speak to the mind.  You have a voice in your own mind.  Our media fills your mind.  We have so much information come to us.  We know a lot and we don’t know very much.

When Jesus speaks to us, he is a witness.  There are three that bear witness in earth.  You can know in your heart that God is talking to you.

He is a leader.  When you find yourself in a situation where you feel bewildered, when you feel perplexed, Jesus always leads right.

You might say, “I am so bewildered.  I have put so many things out.”  My father visited a widow lady whose home was going to be repossessed.  She would have never told my mom and dad if they had not gone that day.  There are times when God sends you somewhere.

They said, “Sister, God is going to make a way.  You will not lose your home.  Hold faith.”  We need a leader that we can hold faith in.  You need a leader that you hold faith in.

He is a commander.  People talk about the man upstairs not answering their prayer because they are praying selfishly.  “You are making a lot of noise but you don’t know God.”

He is a commander: a governor with the heart of a shepherd.  I think of his tender hands.  He makes a way when there is no way.  Brother Jim tells that time and again they were going to get rid of him on the railroad.  They set him up for failure time and again.  God came through for Him.  God never failed.

When you think about serving God, don’t listen to your head or you will get bewildered.  Get a bible, look at this Whitehorse rider and see what kind of an individual that He is.  He is a governor with the heart of the shepherd.

He gently leads us.  Stop and look at the lambs.  The ewes are the mothers.  There are some bum lambs.  The ewe said, “I have milk but not enough for everyone.”  The shepherds have all sorts of bottles, they have feed, and they have covers and straw that the lambs can go to.

This Jesus tenderly works with the lambs.

God ordained a designated leader for each one of our lives.  That is Jesus Christ.  You can choose your own way but the saddest thing that I know is people that choose their own way.  They just want to be a little worldly.  They just don’t want the responsibility of being a part of a congregation.

They don’t want a pastor to lead them.  Who do you want to lead you?  You already admitted that you are bewildered.  Do you have a designated leader in your life?  Is His name Jesus Christ?  If you do then you are blessed.

You say, “I am going to do things my own way.”  Remember the saying of sowing wild oats?  If you choose your own way, the day will come when God will choose your delusion.  There is nothing sadder than people that have known God’s will.  They knew that they needed to be saved.

Baptism or taking communion will not save you.  What baptism is, is an outward sign of an inward work: you are dying to sin and you go all the way under by immersion.  You go all the way down and are buried and then rise to newness of life.

Anyone taking communion without living a holy life: It is contrary to the bible.

The designated leader for your life:  we are blessed.  Every child that is in bible story time: God ordained that every child have a designated leader.  Jesus’ revelation invites us to come and see.

Jesus is riding with the promises of God, the beautiful rainbow of God’s promises.  The seven colors show for whatever season of life that you may be in there are a lot of promises.  The colors harmonize to create the beauty of the rainbow.

There is nothing more beautiful than an individual that has the attitude, “I am going to trust God and see what God will do for me.”  It is beautiful to watch the harmony of the promise of God working to supply every need.

Mat 6:33  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Hasn’t God supplied every need?  He has been faithful to supply

Php 4:19  But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Jesus Christ is still conquering today.  Salvation brings the kingdom of God into our heart.  We come just as we are, confess our sin, and He forgives our sin. When He forgives our sin He moves in and places the kingdom in our heart.

He comes as King of kings and Lord of lords.  Today many voices call to our senses, to our soul, to our self and we find ourselves in bewilderment, perplexed by many conflicting situations, voices and desires.

Until you are saved and sanctified your heart will be divided.  Part of it will pull to God and part will pull to sin and self.  When you are saved and sanctified then all you want is His perfect will.

Confused, vulnerable: Bewilderment puts people in a vulnerable position in life.  “Why don’t you do this or that, why don’t you throw away your convictions and go out and live it up for a while.”

Jesus came as David to bring good tidings to the meek.  The Holy Spirit comes to witness to truth and to righteousness.

Rom 8:37  Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

Jesus went forth conquering and then He went forth to conquer.  Jesus conquers every time that He is King of kings and Lord of lords in our lives.
