Sister Brenda Wednesday Evening 1/23/13

Sister Brenda Wednesday Evening 1/23/13
Psa 78:70  He chose David also his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds:
Psa 78:71  From following the ewes great with young he brought him to feed Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance.
Psa 78:72  So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skilfulness of his hands.

David had the heart of a shepherd.  He is a type of Christ.  God wants to guide us according to the integrity of His heart.  Can we think of anything better to guide our lives than the Good Shepherd?  The enemy wants us to go our own way and not be willing to take the counsel that God wants to give us.

We have to want more than anything else God’s direction and influence in our lives.  We can go our own way.  He will not stop us.  But we don’t want to do that.  He is the good shepherd.

Sometimes in my life I really don’t know just what to do.  The first thing is to examine ourselves and see that we have a heart that is perfect before God.  That feeling bad that I’ve failed God or disappointed Him is a terrible sad thing and I don’t want to go there.

We want to have the heart, “God I really want to please you and have the blessing.”  None of us wants to go our own way or rebel against God.  The Bible tells us to submit to Him.

I have been in a place of decision and I say, “God I know you are going to show me the way in this situation.”  We can know that God will be faithful.  Sometimes we have to wait to know the path but He has promised that He will guide us and give us His counsel and help.

Ask Him to open and close doors.  He knows how to do this for us.  I picture the journey of my life as a long corridor with doors here and there.  We can be walking the best we know how and a door will just open.  Other times there will be doors that are just closed.  There is no path there.

God often guides us through or by circumstances that come into our lives.  It is all a plan of God to lead us down a path.  It is to give us opportunities to work for God or to meet new people.  God help us to be prepared and prayed-up so that we can be where God can use us.

Sometimes doors open through a trivial incident and something comes of the incident to open a door.  If we are saved and walking in the light then God will guide us.  God’s paths are never contrary to His word.  We can check what we are doing:  If it is deceitful or would lead to any kind of sin or is contrary to what the Word of God teaches then we can know it is not of God.

Joh 16:13  Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Make sure that you are saved and are walking in all the light and then that Spirit of truth will guide you.

Psa 25:9  The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.

The meek, the humble, the lowly he promised to guide in judgment.

Psa 31:3  For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.
Psa 31:4  Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: for thou art my strength.

Lead me and guide me for thou art my strength.  Sometimes nets are put out for us, the enemy will try to trick us but God will help us and guide us.

Psa 32:8  I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

If we are not looking at Jesus or keeping our eyes on Him, How can he guide us?

Psa 48:14  For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.

Psa 73:24  Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.

It is precious to have Him guide us.  It will lead us to heaven

Isa 58:11  And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

The lord shall guide thee continually.

Luk 1:79  To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

Pro 3:5  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Pro 3:6  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

We are blessed to have these promises that He will guide us.

2Ch 20:12  O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.

There are times when we don’t know what to do “but our eyes are upon Thee”.  Just in time he will help us and open a door.

Psa 123:2  Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us.

The slaves, if they had a good master, looked to their master to supply all their needs.  They had to; they were unable to supply for themselves as slaves.  We can look to God and know that He loves us and will supply our needs.
