We probably wouldn’t have Colossians or Ephesians if Paul hadn’t been in prison. 

Just because we are in a tough spot is not a reason to quit working.  For the army and Napoleon, just over the mountain was Italy.  Just over the mountain is heaven and a mansion.

Col 2:18  Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

Col 2:19  And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.

Don’t let someone that is all full of pride and acts super humble to move you.  They are not even connected to the head.  They may act super humble, dress plain without a necktie and no shoelaces but bailing twine.   Don’t let those people in any way put you under a false condemnation.

Some brag that they don’t buy anything new or a gallon of gas and don’t wear certain colors.  God loves all colors.  Just wait for spring; you will see all different colors of flowers. 

It is wonderful that God has a plan for us to take the key and unlock heaven with prayer and the word of 

God.  He has a plan for us to have nourishment ministered to our soul from the head.  If we will follow it, this plan will lead us right every time.

This nourishment is entered into each spiritual man that is saved and part of the body.  It works to knit us together as a part of the body.  So that we have the coming together that increases. 

I cannot increase by myself.  This is a choker to those that are independent and don’t need anyone.  He increases so that you can increase and you increase so that he can increase. 

I found out recently that under the collar bone is a muscle.  Let that thing get tight and it hurts from the neck to the elbow and down to the hand.  If I can get some nourishment into that muscle so that it quits hurting and starts increasing instead of stretched tight, I will be one happy man.

To these precious souls, including you and me, that are reaching to gain ground: a vital part is you and I being rightly related to the head.  When he wrote to the Ephesians he expressed it:

Eph 4:15  But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

Eph 4:16  From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Bro Emerson Wilson said, “When God pours it in, I pour it out.  There is no worry for my having more next time.” 

There is something vital in having love for God and love for others and to crucify the flesh.  No need to ask, “What about me?”  Have love to God and love for others and He will pour it in.

May God challenge each one of us that in 2013 there is growth and maturity.  May we be so in tune with God that we are not concerned about our self but are in tune with God and concerned about others. 

I’ve shook and twisted it to try to get my elbow to not be painful.  I need these elbows.  I don’t want to cut them off.  I need these joints.  God wants us as the whole body fitly joined together so that all parts of the body are working. 

It doesn’t hurt to drop Tupperware, but there are some things that I don’t want to drop.  It is the same spiritually.  We don’t want to drop a soul.  That would be terrible.  We don’t want to hinder our brothers or sisters.  We don’t have to.  The whole body is fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplies.

This is the reason that we want to be our very best in every service.  Some of God’s jewels are there.  We want to be our best in teaching, in singing, in praying, in instruments, in the choir…

Don’t underestimate what God can do through you.  We are not talking about how well you can speak.  You can have more God on January 3^rd than you had January 2^nd.  As I age I will not be able to preach as well, but I can have more of God.

We are not looking for orators; we are looking for God to move.

The working of every part:  whatever part you have in the body, if you are the muscle behind the collar bone that I didn’t know was there, be your best.  If you are responsible for rest home, for Sunday school, for the choir, for whatever, be your very best. 

There is no one that could say that they have no responsibility.  Until it is your time to go, you are responsible.  You don’t want to plateau, if you do then there is only one thing left and that is to go down and down.

Make increase of the body to the edifying of itself in love.
