Brother Gary Wednesday Evening 9/9/15
God takes a journey every day:
Psa 19:1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
Psa 19:2
Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
Psa 19:3
There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
Psa 19:4
Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end
of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
Psa 19:5
Which is as a bridegroom coming
out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a
strong man to run a race.
Psa 19:6
His going forth is from the end
of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid
from the heat thereof.
This uses the example of the literal sun coming up and
traveling around the world. It also
applies to God visiting His people and visiting those we are praying for.
Remember the time when the angel went and visited Mary? God came and said, “All hail.” That means, “I am bringing good news to you.”
We are so blessed to have the pattern of devotions, that
place where we meet with God and God meets with us. We draw near to God as Abraham did. God had time to listen to Abraham as he
interceded for the great needs of his family.
Psa 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of
the LORD is sure, making wise the
simple.
God has a way of bringing His Word to us that gives us real
understanding.
Isa 64:1 Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that
thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence,
There is something in us that hungers for God. It is a wonderful thing to want to know about
God. There is the knowledge of the
holy.
Everyone in this audience is so blessed to have that
wonderful opportunity of humbling ourselves before God and when He comes close
to us we say, “I have a real desire that I might possess the knowledge of the
holy.”
Isa 64:2
As when the melting fire burneth,
the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thine
adversaries, that the nations may
tremble at thy presence!
Isa 64:3
When thou didst terrible things which
we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains flowed down at thy presence.
There were times that God moved in terrible ways. Sometimes God has to take extreme measures to
get the attention of the individual.
I think of the young man that was there when the Figeroas
went to Miami. He worked for Sears and
they were very poor. A lady got
saved. She said, “I have a home. I have a son that is called Carlos. Why don’t you come to my house and have
service there.”
That young Cuban brother and that young German sister would
drive to that house to have service.
Carlos was about six years old and he wasn’t interested in the service
but was interested in interrupting the service.
Often he had a plan that the dog or he would interrupt service.
When this young man was 15 years old, he went to the
park. There are a lot of parks in
Miami. They make them with big rocks and
ponds of water. This young man decided
to go to a park and he decided to dive off of a rock and take a swim. He jumped off and went down and hit his head
on another rock.
He came up and then went down a time or two or three and
someone saw him and took him to the hospital.
He came to and he said, “Call Brother Alex Figeroa.” Brother Figeroa looked down on him and he
that had looked so handsome and promising had holes drilled in his head.
He told Brother FIgeroa, “I want to get saved.” He has now been saved for about 35
years. You cannot love him enough and he
cannot love you enough. He can never
clasp your hand or hug you. He is paralyzed
from the neck down.
We need to realize how blessed we are to not be packing the
load of sin. Sometimes people think that
it is hard to serve God. Serving God is
wonderful. There were two families that
decided to not hide what their son and daughter died of, an over dose of
heroine.
There are many heartaches, but serving God there is also
faith hope, and charity.
Isa 64:4 For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear,
neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what
he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.
Never run ahead of God.
If you think, “I want something right now.” Let me help you, have patience and wait on God. If you have to have patience to wait for an
answer, God’s answers are always worth waiting for.
Tomorrow morning, God will go on a journey and will visit
those that work righteousness. I am
expecting God tonight. We are all
looking forward to Behn and Bonnie coming.
But there is something even better going to happen. God is going to come out and meet with His people. He is going to hear our cry.
Remember the cry of Abraham?
The angels had gone onto Sodom. God
remained with Abraham and began to plead for the people of Sodom. “Will you spare that city for fifty
righteous?”
There were young married couples there and they probably
looked like the perfect couple. There were
sons-in-laws and daughters. When Lot
began to speak to them they mocked him. I
have some relatives that when people look at them they would think, “That is
the perfect couple.” They have a washed
rig, she has her hair done, and he knows how to dress right. Hold on, are they saved?
If you are hesitant to pray for your relatives, did you hear
Sister Twete’s cry for Deanne? Did you
hear her cry for Deanne’s children?
Isa 64:5
Thou meetest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways: behold,
thou art wroth; for we have sinned: in those is continuance, and we shall be
saved.
Sin brings the anger of God.
Dear ones, pray. As I
told someone last week, I was on the middle street trying to get some pears to
Brother David and Verna. Jack Gingery came
and wanted to talk. Then the Jones boys
came by and here I was in the middle of them.
I said, “I have to get to work. Do
you want these pears?”
One of them hollered back at me as I walked, “Keep the faith.” I said, “I am doing my best.” Saints we have a world that is counting on me
and you to keep the faith.
Isa 64:6
But we are all as an unclean thing,
and all our righteousnesses are as
filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind,
have taken us away.
Isa 64:7
And there is none that calleth
upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid
thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities.
Isa 64:8
But now, O LORD, thou art our
father; we are the clay, and thou our
potter; and we all are the work of thy
hand.
It has been since 1968 and I haven’t said anything about it
but to God. My Father went into
eternity, 1968. I tell you the
truth. If I could only see him again
this side of eternity. There would be a whole
lot more than, “Hi Dad.”
I would take those hands.
I would have a lot to say. He got
saved out here in a cow barn, March 19, 1949.
He loved and served God. I also have
a heavenly father that I will see.
The thought is, “Thou art our father, we are the clay.” God, help it to be real to me how God took
the dust, the clay and brought it all together.
I don’t know that you could call it a corpse because it never had
life. Adam was made, God breathed into
his nostrils, and man became a living soul.
This is clay pottery, I have a great appreciation for
it. But it has no soul. You and I have a soul. We come to him and say, “You are the potter.” Let Him work with your heart, your soul, and
your being.
Can we not tell our brother that we love him? Can we not treat our sister like she is our
sister? God help our clay.
