God has projects that He is working on. Those projects are men, women, boys and
girls. He works on those that know Him
and those that don’t know Him. He works
on those that are drawing toward Him and those that are drawing away from
Him.
Eph 2:1 And you hath he
quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
It is a marvelous miracle from God that we can be quickened. David said, “I muse …”
Psa 143:5 I remember the days of old; I meditate on all
thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands.
I muse at how God convicted me when I was in sin. I muse at
how He can go to a heart that is so calloused, and far away from God. He can go with the grace of God and with the
Holy Spirit of God. He can go with the
preparation; God knows how to awaken a soul.
After a soul is awakened then it is their responsibility to act on it.
Eph 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to
the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the
spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
There are at least two designs, the design of God and the design
of the world. We all walked according to
the world.
We walked according to the prince of the power of the air. There was a season where we and they were
rebellious and disobedient to God.
Eph 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation
in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh
and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
Aren’t you happy tonight, if you are saved, that this is
past history?
Eph 2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great
love wherewith he loved us,
Isn’t the mercy of God wonderful? ‘Thy mercy is higher than the heavens.’
When we look up to the sky and the heavens it looks a long
way up there. We can fly in an airplane five
miles in the air and we thank God for His protection.
We thank God for His mercy.
This young man that is in prison should be. He did some pretty bad things. But the God of mercy caused His path to cross
Brother Gyme’s and the mercy of God reaches to him with forgiveness.
Whatever the sin is in your life, God’s mercy will position
you where you can receive forgiveness for your sin and it is removed from the
books in the heavens. He removes them as
far as the east is from the west. They
cannot be found.
He has cast my sin into the depths of the sea. They don’t know how deep the sea is but when
God forgives because of His great mercy He casts our sin from us.
We were dead in sin:
Eph 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath
quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
When we were dead in sin God in His mercy helped us to have
spiritual life. We want to remember that
when we are saved: we have grace, we have peace, and we are peaceable. When there is no grace, peace, or joy then
the kingdom of God is not there.
Rom 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink;
but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
He has quickened raised and made us sit together in heavenly
places in Christ Jesus:
Eph 2:6 And hath raised us
up together, and made us sit together in
heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
All of us want to learn how to worship God in spirit and in
truth. We teach that if you can see,
then get a hymn book so that you can sing, if you pray then pray earnestly and
do your best to leave the world outside.
We need brothers and sisters in Christ edifying the body of
Christ. This is not a fashion show; we
do our best to dress nice and look nice.
We don’t come with shorts and tennis shoes without socks on. We represent something we represent the King
of Kings. We appreciate the good Sunday
school teachers and instrument players.
We are not a society, we come to fellowship the good brothers and
sisters in Christ.
This is a taste of heaven to go to heaven in:
Eph 2:7 That in the ages to come he might shew the
exceeding riches of his grace in his
kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and
that not of yourselves: it is the gift
of God:
God wants your life to be blessed here. He wants you to be happy here. He wants you to enjoy the riches of His
grace. God wants you to enjoy the beauty
of His creation. When we come together
here God wants us to enjoy ourselves.
This is a little bit of heaven here.
He wants us to be able to enjoy heaven over there.
Grace and truth came by Jesus Christ:
Joh 1:16 And of his fulness have all we received, and
grace for grace.
Joh 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
Grace is the divine influence upon the soul and its
reflection out into the life. Every one
of us has the grace of God visit us.
When God’s grace comes, it comes to sinners and witnesses to them, “You
need to get saved and change your life.”
We feel the need of the grace of God every day. Parents need a special grace. Whatever you do, when you take your children
out to enjoy them, then turn off your cell phone. Turn off your cell phone when you are talking
to your grandchildren.
Grandparents need a special grace. There is grace and strength to love those
children. If we don’t take time for our
children and grandchildren then someone else will.
Tit 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation
hath appeared to all men,
That divine influence from God has appeared to all men and
brings salvation which is deliverance, help, safety, victory and health.
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and
that not of yourselves: it is the gift
of God:
Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Salvation is the sweetest thing.
There are a lot of noble things that you can do but that
will not save you. It takes the blood of
Jesus Christ cleansing us from all sin to save us.
Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ
Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in
them.
We are God’s project.
God’s still working on me. God is
such a wonderful God He draws a line for us and we say, “God I am going to come
to the line.” Then He says, “I want you
to come closer.” We say, “We want to
come closer.”
The preparation of the heart is of the Lord.
You may be burdened for a soul but God has to prepare the
heart. God has a way of preparing your
heart and a way of preparing the whole scene.
You may be facing something that you are dreading; you need the grace of
God. You may be faced with something
that you are looking forward to. You
still need the grace of God.
No matter where we go,
it is God that must prepare the heart. I
think of those that this congregation is reaching out to that are almost
cemented in Babylon. God has a way of
preparing hearts.
Php 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to
will and to do of his good pleasure.
That deep desire to do the will of God: I want to do God’s will tonight. We are like you folks; we have a big week
ahead. Whatever God’s will is, is
first. It is God that works in us to do
His will. I would rather do the work of
God than whatever the favorite thing would be in this world.
This is a beautiful time in Montana, we cannot hike enough,
we cannot fish enough, and we cannot walk around the yard or town and see all
the beautiful flowers enough. “God, I
have this plan, but I must set it over here and first I want to do your will
and your pleasure.”
2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise,
as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that
any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
It is God’s will that all men be saved. I don’t know why I met that young man in that
trailer, but I know that God wants him saved.
It is God’s will that all men be sanctified:
1Th 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you
wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit
and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1Th 4:3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain
from fornication:
The will of God is that we submit to God. The lives of people will never be satisfied
until they submit to God.
Eph 2:11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are
called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh
made by hands;
Don’t forget that we were sinners. There are some things that we want to
remember.
Eph 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ,
being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants
of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
Eph 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were
far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
This is how we get closed to Jesus Christ: every time that
there is something in our life that we need purged of we go to God and say,
Wash me.
Eph 2:14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one,
and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between
us;
We have peace with the past, peace with the present, peace
with the future, peace with the saints, peace with our enemies. This is how we know that we have been
cleansed by Christ.
Lots of times you hit the middle wall of patrician. It is individuals that build a wall. Sometimes that wall is, “I am educated and
your dad didn’t even get out of the eighth grade”, and the wall goes up. That is sad.
There are those that say, “I am gifted.” Don’t you just get disappointed in that?
The new terminology is, “There is the church and then there
is the standing church.” How ridiculous! Every one that is saved and walking in the
light is a part of the church. Every one
that is saved and walking in the light, I reach my hand in fellowship with.
Some would say, “You only have about thirty people there in
Paradise.” The scripture says, “Where
two or three are gathered together I am in the midst.”
Where was your father educated? He got saved in a cow barn, He got baptized
in the Clark Fork, and God gave him a message.
The middle wall of partition: God help us to keep the middle wall out. The mentality, “My family is special…” That is your family and we are all
family. Everyone in Chicago that is
saved is my brother.
There was a sweet little lady that always liked to feed us
when we came to West Virginia. Sister
Fosey really liked me. She said, “Sister
Powell, what is with this golf or goofing, are saints supposed to be going out
there and golfing or goofing?” Sister
Powell said, “Sister Fosey, What can be wrong with hitting a ball around with a
stick.”
Know what to make division over: Sin, carnality, talking too
much, working too much. As much as lieth
within you do good.
Eph 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself
of twain one new man, so making peace;
Eph 2:16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in
one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
Eph 2:17 And came and preached peace to you which were
afar off, and to them that were nigh.
Eph 2:18 For through him we both have access by one
Spirit unto the Father.
Eph 2:19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and
foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
Eph 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the
apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
Eph 2:21 In whom all the building fitly framed
together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
Eph 2:22 In whom ye also are builded together for an
habitation of God through the Spirit.
