Brother Gyme Wednesday Evening 4/11/12
Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may
be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,
but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness
of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
I say this to remind you, because I need reminded. When we see injustices and things in the
world that we don’t like it is important that we remember: we are not in a
battle against flesh but against principalities. We want to stand up for right
principals. That takes care of the grey
areas.
Dan 6:1 It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an
hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom;
Dan 6:2 And over these three presidents; of whom
Daniel was first: that the princes might
give accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage.
Dan 6:3 Then this Daniel was preferred above the
presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was
in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.
We desire to have an excellent spirit. It is a part of having virtue. Because He had an excellent spirit, Daniel
was preferred above the other princes.
If we have an excellent spirit then God can use us like He used
Daniel. It may be above someone and it
may not be above someone. It is as He
chooses.
Other people with a wicked heart don’t like it when someone
has favor. They don’t like it when
someone has an excellent spirit. It puts
conviction on them and they have war in their spirit. We need to remember that our war is not with
them but with principalities.
They had a plan to destroy Daniel.
Dan 6:4 Then the presidents and princes sought to
find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none
occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was
faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.
Dan 6:5 Then said these men, We shall not find any
occasion against this Daniel, except we find it
against him concerning the law of his God.
Evil forces come together.
Birds of a feather flock together.
This is true. Saints like to be
together. Those that are disgruntled
like to be with others that are disgruntled.
The king signed the decree; Daniel prayed as he had
before.
Don’t you want to be like Daniel and not let others change you? People with agendas are very loud with their
agenda, they are loud and don’t want you to say anything against it.
People don’t want you to say anything about Jesus: “You
can’t say that in the school!” Have you
ever noticed that?
We want to keep on praying and doing what is right for no
other reason other than because it pleases God, never trying to offend.
Dan 6:22 My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the
lions' mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency
was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.
If we do right for the right reasons God will defend
us. He will send His angels. This is what the Bible says. We need to remember that.
Dan 6:24 And the king commanded, and they brought
those men which had accused Daniel, and they cast them
into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions had
the mastery of them, and brake all their bones in pieces or ever they came at
the bottom of the den.
Psa 7:15 He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen
into the ditch which he made.
People have plans.
They are not making their plans with God. They have plans to really do a work of
evil. It may be in this country as a whole
or in our communities, where ever they are making plans and it looks like
things are all lining up their way. It
will not happen unless God allows it.
Those that lay snares will get caught in their own snare
every time.
Psa 7:16 His mischief shall return upon his own head,
and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate.
We don’t have to take matters into our own hand other than
doing right and what we know to do. God
will take care of the wicked. God will
take care of the enemy.
I read about a man one day that prayed to God morning and
noon, night and day.
He cared not for the king’s decree, he trusted God to set him free.
They locked Him in the lion’s den; their jaws were locked and God rescued him.
Now brother let us watch and pray and trust God to lead the way.
Daniel served the living God, while upon the earth he trod.
He cared not for the king’s decree, he trusted God to set him free.
They locked Him in the lion’s den; their jaws were locked and God rescued him.
Now brother let us watch and pray and trust God to lead the way.
Daniel served the living God, while upon the earth he trod.
Dan 1:8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he
would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine
which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he
might not defile himself.
Dan 1:9 Now God had brought Daniel into favour and
tender love with the prince of the eunuchs.
We need to purpose in our heart that we will not be
defiled.
Dan 1:17 As for these four children, God gave them
knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in
all visions and dreams.
Dan 1:18 Now at the end of the days that the king had
said he should bring them in, then the prince of the eunuchs brought them in
before Nebuchadnezzar.
Dan 1:19 And the king communed with them; and among
them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore
stood they before the king.
Dan 1:20 And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of
them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were
in all his realm.
Dan 2:1 And in the second year of the reign of
Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, wherewith his spirit was
troubled, and his sleep brake from him.
Nebuchadnezzar was troubled because he couldn’t remember his
dream and was going to have all his counselors slain including Daniel. Daniel said to not be hasty.
Dan 2:19 Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a
night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
Dan 2:20 Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name
of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:
Daniel knew where the credit was due. Daniel said it is not because of me or my
learning, God revealed the dream.
Dan 2:21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he
removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and
knowledge to them that know understanding:
Dan 2:22 He revealeth the deep and secret things: he
knoweth what is in the darkness, and the
light dwelleth with him.
Dan 2:23 I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of
my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now
what we desired of thee: for thou hast now
made known unto us the king's matter.
Dan 2:44 And in the days of these kings shall the God
of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom
shall not be left to other people, but
it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for
ever.
Aren’t you glad for that Kingdom? It tells of it in Romans 14:17. It is a kingdom of righteousness, peace and
Joy. It will last forever. It is an eternal kingdom.
2Pe 1:1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of
Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through
the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
2Pe 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you
through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
2Pe 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto
us all things that pertain unto life and
godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and
virtue:
Anything good we get is from God. Here we see the word virtue.
2Pe 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and
precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature,
having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
2Pe 1:5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to
your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
The meaning of the word virtue is manliness. Stand up and be a man. Stand up for what is right. Have moral excellence.
This is not always easy.
Sometimes I have shaken in my boots to do what is right. After you do it, you feel much relief and joy
and peace. The more that you stand for
what is right, the easier it becomes to say, “That is not right.” You have to practice it. To add virtue you must practice it.
2Pe 1:5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to
your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
2Pe 1:6 And to knowledge temperance; and to
temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
2Pe 1:7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to
brotherly kindness charity.
2Pe 1:8 For if these things be in you, and abound,
they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our
Lord Jesus Christ.
The word barren means inactive, unemployed, unemployed
spiritually. We need to be employed:
spiritually active. Barren means idle,
slow, and unfruitful.
2Pe 1:9 But he that lacketh these things is blind,
and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old
sins.
I’m so glad that I don’t have to live in the past. Yet every so often God shows me the pit that
I came from. He doesn’t show me the pit
that someone else came from. He shows me
how ugly and awful I was.
2Pe 1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give
diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye
shall never fall:
2Pe 1:11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto
you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus
Christ.
Dan 2:47 The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a
truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a
revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.
This king knew that Daniel’s God was the God of gods. This is what will happen in our lives if we
do right. People may get mad at us but
they will know if we serve the God of gods.
Our relatives in Babylon call us when they have a need for prayer. They
are religious but they know that we serve the God of gods. They know where to go when there is a need.
Rev 17:14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the
Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they
that are with him are called, and
chosen, and faithful.
