1Co 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the
world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are
freely given to us of God.
When we get saved then we can have the Holy Spirit to guide
us and direct us. We’ve seen ones that
were tender toward God and they took the Word of God and studied it to try to
be saved. Without the Spirit of God we
cannot be instructed. Give your heart to
God first and then He’ll show you the way through His Word.
I remember how the Spirit of God opened up His word to me
when I got saved. I was off by myself
and it was over a month before I got here to the church. It was amazing the things that the Word of
God showed to my heart and when I came here I found the saints lived what God
had shown me.
Those in Babylon tried to convince me that you could sin and
be saved but God showed me in His word that you should live Holy. It just is amazing.
God doesn’t want us ignorant. He has freely given to us the things of
God. The Word of God without the Spirit
of God may be taken in error. This is
why there are many false religions.
1Co 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words
which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing
spiritual things with spiritual.
1Co 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things
of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
1Co 2:15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things,
yet he himself is judged of no man.
1Co 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that
he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
Only by being saved can we have the Spirit of God to
instruct us. It is His plan that we have
the mind of Christ. It is not out of our
reach. If we measure and obey the Word
and Sprit of Christ then we can have the mind of Christ. The only thing that is required is
obedience.
Choose to let Jesus abide in your life by faith and
obedience. Choose to let Jesus be
king. We must choose. The saints and God will never beat us into
submission. We must choose to believe
and obey in our own minds. No one can
choose for us. It is ours to choose.
Jesus paid all with His precious life’s blood. He paid the full price that we should have no
lack but that we could serve God with an acceptable service. He suffered a terrible death on the cross; He
paid a terrible price that we should have no lack. He suffered this sacrifice for sin.
He suffered such terrible things and the most terrible was
when He hung on the cross and asked, “Why hast thou forsaken me.” Jesus had God with Him always; they were
one. God had to turn His back on the sin
that Jesus bore for us. Jesus suffered
that separation from God at that time. That
had to hurt more than anything else.
He did that for you and for me. Without the sacrifice of Jesus there would be
no salvation. This was not a spur of the
moment thing. It was predicted from the
beginning. It was God’s plan. I’m so glad that Jesus did this for me.
Rom 3:30 Seeing it is
one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision
through faith.
Rom 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith?
God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
Rom 10:4 For Christ is
the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
Mat 5:17 Think not that I am
come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to
fulfil.
Jesus did this. He
fulfilled the law. He is our perfect
example. He was obedient unto
death. We need to be obedient unto
death.
Laws are to restrict the lawless. The righteous do right anyway. Laws give wisdom and understanding and
instruction to the righteous.
Psa 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of
the LORD is sure, making wise the
simple.
Psa 19:8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment
of the LORD is pure, enlightening the
eyes.
Psa 19:9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the
LORD are true and righteous altogether.
Psa 19:10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also
than honey and the honeycomb.
Even the simple like me can be wise. We all need to get into this Word and
study. Let the Spirit of God help you
study. It is essential that when we
study we have the Spirit of God to guide and direct us.
If you don’t walk in the light that He has shed on your
pathway and keep studying, you will get off. God will not give more light if you are not
walking in the light that He has already shed on your pathway.
Joh 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
Col 1:28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and
teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in
Christ Jesus:
As long as we measure to the light that He shines on our
path then we walk innocent and perfect.
We may not have the light that He has shown on someone else’s path but
if we walk to the light that He has shown on our path then we are
innocent.
If we don’t obey then that is sin. When there is sin, then God doesn’t hear our
prayers and we don’t have the protection over us as we need to have it. We really need the Spirit of God and we won’t
have that Spirit of God to help us if we are not walking in the light.
It is so important that we stay in the Spirit. If we throw carnal fits then that is
sin. We will not be walking in the light
if we sin. Jesus will not dwell in an unclean
vessel and it is His plan that He dwell in our heart.
Col 1:28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and
teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in
Christ Jesus:
Col 1:29 Whereunto I also labour, striving according
to his working, which worketh in me mightily.
We want all the workings of God to work in us mightily. We want to be the vessels that God can use to
show forth the Spirit of God unto this lost and dying world. We are the only Gospel that a lot of people
will ever see.
Religious people and their sinning habits have blackened
true religion. People don’t understand
that there is just religion and then there is true religion. There is a good chance that we are the only
gospel that others will ever see. We need to be living and walking right.
How are we doing? Are
we murmuring and complaining? Do we have
bad reports of other people? The
children of Israel were murmuring and complaining and they were not allowed to
enter the Promised Land; it will be no different for us.
Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep
my commandments.
We need to draw close to God in obedience. This is optional.
1Co 1:24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and
Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
Jesus is who we measure to.
He is the power and wisdom of God.
Those that don’t serve the living God are heathens. We believe and accept the sacrifice of Jesus
Christ. We are not heathens.
Eph 3:10 To the intent that now unto the
principalities and powers in heavenly places
might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,
When we keep God’s commandments, then the manifold wisdom of
God will be known by the church. That is
only accomplished by staying in the Spirit of God.
We cannot just look through the Word and pick out the things
that we like. The Scripture tells us
that part of the Word of God will be bitter to the stomach. We must take the vegetables with the
dessert.
