Bro Bob Sunday School 4/1/12
We are creatures of choice; we are what we are and where we
are by choice. I can’t stress enough the
importance of making right choices that line up with the Word and the Spirit of
God.
Mat 12:31 Wherefore I say unto
you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the
blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
We need to be careful of what we say, guard our mouth and
measure continually to the Spirit of God.
This is our goal.
Mat 12:32 And whosoever
speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever
speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this
world, neither in the world to come.
This is straight. No
man can come to the Father unless God draws upon their heart. If a man refuses this voice, then they cannot
receive forgiveness. When you refuse to
respond when the Holy Ghost draws upon your heart, how can you receive
forgiveness?
This carries to when we are saved too. If we at any point refuse the voice when He
tries to show us where to go, we will end up getting off. It is important that we keep walking and
obeying. If we refuse truth we will not
get more, we will be going backward instead of forward.
Mat 12:33 Either make the tree
good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt:
for the tree is known by his fruit.
Mat 12:34 O generation of
vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of
the heart the mouth speaketh.
What are we saying; what is coming out of our mouth? Are we peace makers with righteousness and
joy coming out of our mouth? It is
important; it is the difference between life and death.
Mat 12:35 A good man out of the
good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of
the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
We want to bring forth good things.
Mat 12:36 But I say unto you,
That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in
the day of judgment.
Mat 12:37 For by thy words thou
shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
This is straight.
There will be a book opened at the Judgment Day and there will be a
record of our lives. If all is covered
by the blood then only good things will be in that book.
Choose to have sound speech that is undefiled. We need to not use slang terms of this
world. “I don’t care” and “It doesn’t
matter” are slang terms that have very little place in a Christian life.
It can be too easy to let people with adverse dispositions
get to us. We need to be forgiving.
Pro 26:20 Where no wood is, there
the fire goeth out: so where there is no
talebearer, the strife ceaseth.
We cannot live and dwell in strife and be children of
Jesus. The words from our mouth need to
be peace, righteousness, and good things.
Don’t let anyone else put wood on the fire. Let the fire go out. Forgive.
Who is our enemy? It
is not people. Jesus said to love your
enemies and those that despitefully use you.
We are in a spiritual warfare against spirits that are doing the work of
Satan.
We are not warring against people with their souls needing
salvation. We want to see souls
saved. We don’t want to enter into their
strife. When people come at you being
naughty and accusing you, if you are naughty back then the wicked spirit
won.
We want to love souls and see them saved. By sowing the gospel of peace in the spirit
of love it will affect them. Saints are
children of God, sons of God and peace makers.
They take the wood off of the fire.
We need to make right choices. When we choose to serve God with our whole
heart we receive much blessing from God.
All the promises of the Word of God are ours, all of them.
Jer 29:10 For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy
years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word
toward you, in causing you to return to this place.
Jer 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward
you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an
expected end.
God’s place for us is Zion, it is God’s desire that we dwell
in Zion, heavenly places in Christ Jesus, with the saints, the body of Christ,
with Jesus in God’s church.
Jer 29:12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go
and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
Jer 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your
heart.
God’s service that is acceptable is a whole hearted
service. Nothing else will do.
Jer 29:14 And I will be found of you, saith the LORD:
and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the
nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and
I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away
captive.
God wants whosoever will to be gathered unto Zion. We don’t have to remain captives,
prisoners. Christ shed His blood so that
we could be delivered from sin and all of its bondages.
Eze 20:41 I will accept you with your sweet savour,
when I bring you out from the people, and gather you out of the countries
wherein ye have been scattered; and I will be sanctified in you before the
heathen.
God wants to gather all to serve Him. All the saints that are isolated need to come
to Zion.
Eze 20:42 And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall bring you into the land
of Israel, into the country for the
which I lifted up mine hand to give it to your fathers.
God has only good things for us.
Eze 20:40 For in mine holy mountain, in the mountain of
the height of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, there shall all the house of Israel,
all of them in the land, serve me: there will I accept them, and there will I
require your offerings, and the firstfruits of your oblations, with all your
holy things.
The Holy Mountain is Mount Zion. The offering that God requires is a whole
hearted service. He wants our all. He wants the first fruits. We have to keep Him first place, no second place
will do.
God wants us to be His holy thing. He will not dwell in an unholy vessel. Jesus desires to dwell in our hearts, but we
must keep the vessel clean. Nothing else
will do.
Heb 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received
the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them,
and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
These all died in the faith.
They did their best. We have
Jesus Christ to help us. We are
strangers and pilgrims like they. The
promises they had to take by faith are ours today. We have the witness of the Spirit.
1Pe 2:9 But ye are
a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people;
that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of
darkness into his marvellous light:
The Gospel Light is marvelous. Thank God that we can be free to worship God
and serve him right. We can worship Him
in Spirit and in Truth. We can go from
victory to victory. The enemy comes to
trip us up, to try us, and tempt us. By
the grace of God we don’t have to yield to temptation.
The enemy came to Jesus and did His best to tempt
Jesus. He is our perfect example. He resisted every temptation, not yielding in
any way.
When we get saved from sin we can offer praises to God. We are a royal priesthood. He wants us to offer our lives to Him. He honors us, a peculiar people. We are different from the world. We are not ashamed to be different
We are to show forth the praises of Him that has called us
out of darkness. Thank God for the
deliverance of God from darkness, bondage and prison.
Before I got saved, I realized how vain this life is without
living for God: serving self, vain, and hopeless. Jesus made the difference. We have a real purpose in life. God has given us a good life.
Because Jesus was tempted in all points like as we, we have
no excuse. He sweat drops of blood He
was so tempted. Job, a long time before
Jesus, also resisted temptation.
Job 19:26 And though
after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
Job was looking forward to seeing Jesus. On the other side of death, we will see
Jesus. No matter how destroyed our
physical and emotional man may get, if we stay right with God we can still see
Him if we stay right with God.
God wants to talk face to face with us. Every battle has an end. It doesn’t always seem that way, but God’s
grace is sufficient, if we count it so.
He will not force His grace upon us.
By His grace we can be victorious.
