Bro Bob Sunday School 4/22/12

Bro Bob Sunday School 4/22/12
Mat 5:17  Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

Last lesson we were headed to the commands that God gave Moses.  Laws are to restrict the lawless; Laws give wisdom, understanding, and instruction to the righteous.  We need Godly wisdom.  The commands bring wisdom.  Don’t let the Word of God become common.

As much as we need each member of the body, we need the word of God to not become common.  It will never get old.  It will stand all through eternity.  Not one jot or tittle will change.  It is for us today and forever.

It is so important that we stay in the Spirit.  Jesus died on the cross so that we need have no lack in serving Him.  We can only serve Him if we stay pure and clean.  Jesus died to destroy the works of the enemy.  We don’t have to be under Satan.

In the Old Testament time there were perfect men and righteous men.  In this day, we can have the righteousness of Jesus Christ.  Our own righteousness is filthy rags.  When we lift up Jesus, the head, then we can have His righteousness.

Jesus paid the price that we could be whole, free from sin.  We wouldn’t have had this opportunity in the Old Testament time.

Mat 27:50  Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
Mat 27:51  And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
Mat 27:52  And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
Mat 27:53  And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
Mat 27:54  Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

I believe that the hardest time for Jesus was when God forsook Him while He was on the cross.

The veil was a handbreadth in thickness.  It was woven of 72 twisted plates.  Each plate consisted of 24 threads.  It was 60 feet long and 30 feet wide.  Two were made every year so it wasn’t rotten material.  It was heavy; it needed many priests in order to manipulate it.  This was the veil that covered the Holiest of Holies.  It was big and heavy and it was ripped right down the middle.  It was no easy task.

Heb 10:14  For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
Heb 10:15  Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,
Heb 10:16  This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
Heb 10:17  And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
Heb 10:18  Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
Heb 10:19  Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
Heb 10:20  By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

Jesus opened this way up for us.  We have a high priest over this house of God.

Heb 10:21  And having an high priest over the house of God;
Heb 10:22  Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

We can have full assurance of faith.  Jesus paid the full price for us that we would have no lack serving Him.  Jesus paid a first class ticket to heaven.  We don’t have to scrimp around or struggle.  Through Jesus Christ we have power over all power of the enemy.  We don’t have to be in subjection to the devil in any form.

If we are not obedient to God’s statutes and laws then we will miss heaven.

Psa 19:7  The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
Psa 19:8  The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
Psa 19:9  The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
Psa 19:10  More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Psa 19:11  Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

Joh 1:16  And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
Joh 1:17  For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

Col 1:28  Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
Col 1:29  Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

We don’t need to lack wisdom.  Jesus has it for every one of us.  “If any of you lack wisdom let him ask of God that giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”  (James 1:5)

All wisdom is available to those that draw close to God in obedience.

1Co 1:24  But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

Eph 1:8  Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;

Eph 3:10  To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,

Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.  We need to check our own fruit.  What is coming out of our mouth?  99% of the ability to check fruit should be on our self.

God’s commandments give us wisdom.
