Bro Gary Wednesday PM 5/4/11

Bro Gary Wednesday PM 5/4/11
Joh 20:27  Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.

The spirit of unbelief is one of the oldest spirits that the enemy has tried to work on anyone.  We’re not dealing with a deceiver that is working to just try and tread water; the enemy is an old hand at using the spirit of unbelief to deceive.

Joh 20:31  But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

We’ve always taught to stay away from Babylon and that doctrine is right, but if we are there because of a wedding or funeral or whatever it is, God can really use it to stir us up.

Gen 3:4  And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

Satan said to Eve as he was working unbelief to get her to be disobedient, “You shall not surely die.”  We were born and grew up with the spirit of unbelief having an effect upon us.

Adam and Eve were driven from the Garden of Eden; the devil is a liar.  People think that they can handle sin and unbelief but they cannot.  It handles them.

The effects didn’t end with them being driven from the garden; there are other effects that are passed down to us.  It is spring; the ground is cursed with weeds because of their sin.  Adam dealt with this and so do we.  The ground grows weeds better than it grows certified seed.

So that we can understand the affects of unbelief, there is a thistle that one plant can bear seed to produce from three hundred to four hundred thousand more thistles.  This is important for us to know.

The devil lied to Eve; I don’t know how Adam and Eve were deceived to believe that they would not die or be affected.  If we give into unbelief in a little way, it will affect us.  If we allow the seed to get in our life, it will not just be a little reaping.  A thistle can produce from one seed 300 to 400 thousand more thistle plants.  The Carolina thistle bears from 2000 to 3000 seeds per thistle.  I look around and I cannot believe how many weeds there are in my flower gardens.  Something else about thorns and thistles, the root masses take the ground underneath and go everywhere and shoot up sprouts that create more plants.

The effects of unbelief didn’t end with them being driven from the garden and the curses that God placed on them.  Cain and Able had a disagreement and one of them ended up dead.  May God help me to not be faithless but believing.

Unbelief affected those that Jesus would have done miracles for.  Because of their unbelief he couldn’t do many mighty works. (Matt 13:58)  It is so sad.

Mat 17:16  And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.
Mat 17:17  Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.
Mat 17:18  And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.
Mat 17:19  Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
Mat 17:20  And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

This is the reason that we need to fast and pray.  With the right attitude and spirit prayer and fasting will increase our faith.

Rev 21:8  But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

It is a mind boggle to me why everyone doesn’t want to trust God because of the need for safety in our world today.  They got Bin Laden, but that spirit is still alive today and what they’re going to do next is unknown.  The abuse of women, of children, of others is rampant in our world because of unbelief.  We need to believe in God.

Don’t think that if you end up in hell you’re going to be having good times and be shaking hands with all your buddies.  There will be great pain there and remorse of conscience.  We’re in pain with a sinus infection and miserable; they’re going to be in more pain than that.

People think that they can live as they like and noting will happen.  You sow seed and there will be a reaping.

Mar 11:22  And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
Mar 11:23  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Mar 11:24  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
Mar 11:25  And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
Mar 11:26  But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

Have faith in God!

Rom 10:17  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Soak up the word of God.

Rom 12:3  For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

We want to take care of our faith.  It is more of a treasure than anything that is tangible.  It will be a wonderful day when our faith becomes sight.

Gal 5:22  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Gal 5:23  Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

2Th 1:3  We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;

Let your faith grow!  Any that you know that has their faith growing, thank God for it.  Faith works by love.

Jud 1:3  Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

We’re in a battle to keep faith real.  It is a battle.  We can keep it real, but we’re going to have to do it the Bible way.

Luk 18:7  And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
Luk 18:8  I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Every one of us is going to have to answer the question, “Shall He find faith on earth?”  We want to keep our faith real.  I’m going to live right, live holy, and believe God right in the face of unbelief.  I’m going to live holy expecting until Jesus splits the skies.
