Bro Gary Wednesday PM 5/25/11

Bro Gary Wednesday PM 5/25/11
Rev 7:9  After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
Rev 7:10  And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.
Rev 7:11  And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,
Rev 7:12  Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

God wants you and I to get our eyes anointed so that we see How Good God has been and how wonderful salvation is.  We’ve asked for blessings and over and over and over again God has blessed.

We all understand that there is the law of sowing and reaping.  Whatever seeds you are going to plant, God has ordained that there be life in the seed, the sun heats the ground and soon the seed starts to grow.  This is one of the many things that God has put into motion that shows the power of God working.

We don’t think about breathing or how our kidney removes the water from our body, but we need to give a blessing back to God if we are living without life supports.  We have been so blessed.

“Oh God, help us to give you all the glory that you so rightfully deserve.”  There are some things that God has set into motion: apple trees produce apples; cabbage comes from cabbage seeds.

It is wonderful that you think to pray and that you have a bible and know how to go to it.  A week ago tomorrow my uncle that had 10 children died.  After hearing about his death, I read the book of 1 Thessalonians and Paul wrote over and over again, “May God comfort you.”  How blessed we are that we know that God is a God of comfort.  Heartache will come to all.  No one will escape disappointment.  Isn’t it wonderful to have God to go to for comfort.

In a world that is all messed up, all the foundations of the world are out of course, it is wonderful that we have a source to go to where there is true wisdom.  I think of the millions that listened to wrong counsel and look back today and say, “I shouldn’t have listened to that.”

We can look back and say, I sought God; He is the source of true wisdom.  One of these days, we’ll look back and say, “I agree with the New Testament and the Old Testament and all the things that they bring out.”
Whatever the saints have faced, for every one that seeks God, he has wisdom.
We want to seek God; He is the God of wisdom.  We want that reflection coming out of our life that we sought God and He said, “This is the way.”

When we need an instant decision, the wisdom of God comes right to us and says, “Child, you shouldn’t do this, or you shouldn’t go there.”

Thanksgiving, God deserves all of it.  We are paying for the mistakes that many have made in America.  Yet we can still have church and we have God; we have much to be thankful for.

Rev 7:12  Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

This company was praising God for power and for might.  I wondered why there were two words here, what is the difference between power and might.  Power means exactly what it says, there is the definite power of God.  There are times when you are in a situation and you lift up your heart and make expression to God.

Let’s suppose that as this young mother and her family came to church tonight, they prayed for the protection of Bro Gyme who is on call tonight.  I believe God has power to do that.

The might of God means a miracle from God.  If unbeknownst to anyone the hospital is blown up tonight and Bro Gyme survives, it will be a miracle.

We pray for miracles more than we realize.  Each of us when we were going down the broad road of sin needed a miracle from God to be born again.  We’ve all had miracles in our life.  We may have known it or not.  The hand of God reached down and protected you in a car accident.  We don’t know how many times you’ve been protected by the hand of God when you go to the woods to hunt with your rifle.

God’s power and His might!

John saw this in the Revelation and he saw an innumerable company praising God.  Each in this audience has come too far to turn around.  Each time I read a song that D.O. Teasley wrote, I see how God was doing His best to rescue him over and over again.  The dear man didn’t keep his body under subjection and one day he yielded to something.  His testimony was when there were those that went to him on his death bed that “I’m lost forever.”

Keep it real what it means to be saved.  Keep it real what it means to fellowship God.  Keep it real what it means to come back before God and say, “Dear God, I want to give you a blessing.”

Whether it was the power of God or not, I don’t know, I was sick when my mother died.  My family went to prayer meeting and I was sick so I stayed home.  God spoke to my heart.  You go to your mothers.  I walked into her room and visited with my mother a few moments.  She asked about my family and then a quiver came over her body and she said, “Bless the Lord, oh my soul and all that is within me, bless His holy name.”  Then her spirit departed.

I know that you have aches and pains in your body if you’re over fifty.  Yet the other side is that you could have been snatched out of eternity at 25 like my brother, Jack.  Pat Colyer that just passed away, had a younger brother that died at a very young age.  Why did he die so young and Pat live to 79 or 80?

Some children have two dads and two moms.   Most in this audience didn’t experience that, but if you have, you can learn to be thankful anyway, and it would be tough.

Some have lost their dad or mom at a real young age.  They may have been snatched into eternity.  When your mother and father forsake you, the lord will take you up.  If we don’t praise God even when life isn’t easy, we’ll take turns in the road that will lead us away from God.

Audrey Colyer was a senior in high school when she came and told Mom that “It is so hard that I’ll just give up God for a while.”  Unless there is a miracle, we all know that the while will go into eternity.  It didn’t have to go that way.

Can you imagine you and me in eternity looking back to our pilgrimage?  Whatever we enjoyed in this world, if we lost our soul, what regret.  Can you imagine looking back from eternity and seeing how God made a way and helped us every time?  There will be an innumerable company saying, “Blessed, Amen, we agree.  We agree, let’s give Him glory.”  WE are so blessed to know salvation.

We were visited by Jehovah Witnesses this week.  They think they have light and yet they have a delusion.  A man that is lost and knows it is in better shape than one that thinks that they have more light than someone else.

You see those people that flash around the rings that show that they belong to some secret society and that that gives them more light than anyone else.  We see those people that resisted the spirit of God and didn’t measure and a spirit came along and they became deluded.  They may not wear a fancy ring, but they think they have more light and are just as lost.

Rev 7:12  Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.
