Bro Gary Sunday PM 5/1/11
Rev 6:1 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.
The Holy Spirit of God wants us to see.
Rev 6:2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.
It is a wonderful thing to be positive of what you see and what you heard. Many don’t want the lines drawn, but God does draw the lines.
The white horse: thank God that in a world that is full of hypocrisy, and evil spirits, there is a white horse that has a rider, Jesus Christ, surrounded by a bow that represents the promises of God. He has a crown that represents victory. He conquered. He won. When we read of what Jesus went through, the betrayal, how all men forsook him, how he bore a cross, was nailed to it and died on it. This is not defeat. It was the plan of God that He could be the King of kings, the Lord of lords.
He went to the tomb but the tomb could not hold Him. They rolled a stone in front of the tomb, but what they failed to consider was God. May God help you and I remember God. Everyone has been faced with circumstances that there is no answer to. You may say that the dominoes were all stacked against you; you were set up for defeat, but God...
I was reading some thoughts upon Jeremiah 29:11 of how wonderful God’s thoughts are to us. God knows what is going on everywhere, 24/7, every hour of the day. You may feel like your family is not around, or you are misunderstood, or the oil is about to run out as the little lady and Prophet Elijah. But there was God. There is no prayer request that I have an answer to, but God…
There is only one thing to do and that is to cry unto God for every request. I saw Marvin so crippled and not saved, but God… Jesus Christ is riding the white horse with all the promises of God surrounding Him. All the promises in Him are yea and amen. (2Cor 1:20) What God has promised He is abundantly able to perform. (Romans 4:21)
A crown was given unto Him. This means that He fought the battle through and gives to us the victory. Jesus had been through all kinds of circumstances. He’d gone to His own and his own did not receive Him. There were those that said that he was of the devil.
Though there are those that will shoot you full of holes; Jesus went through that already and went right on. He has a crown. He is victorious.
Disappointment: He did not many mighty works because of their unbelief. I look at people and their lives are messed up because of sin. Their minds are deformed because of yielding to sin. Yet we see Jesus. He can take the man in the tombs driven by legions and set him in his right mind.
In Thomas’ case, he failed to understand. Jesus was misunderstood but He always understands you and me. We come from different backgrounds, different lineages; we were raised different. You may feel like that people don’t understand you, but Jesus always understands.
Tomas dealt with human reasoning. Remember when there was a multitude to feed and a little boy with a lunch? Jesus had no problem feeding the multitude. He wears a crown.
All that is in the world is the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. (1 John 2:16) Satan tried to use it all on Jesus and Jesus won the battle every time. Jesus fought that battle through and gives to us the victory. Only Jesus can satisfy.
We understand the lust of the eyes, the pride of life: it is not worth the price of thinking that “I’m a VIP.”
He went forth conquering. Undoubtedly tonight the enemy will put forth something that we can yield our mind or our tongue to. Instead of yielding, we can say, “Jesus fought the battle through. I’m going to take the promises of God. If we have mind battles, we can say, “I’m not always going to let my mind bring up subjects that will tear me down; I’m going to think on the good things of God.”
He went forth conquering and to conquer. The victory today is Jesus coming on the inside. We’re not fighting this battle on our own strength. Jesus is living within us.
Rev 6:3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.
Rev 6:4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.
Now we see a red horse: a horse that had power to take peace from the earth. Every one of us needs to keep it real that unbelief is going to move in to take away our peace every so often. You want to live a life of faith. Unbelief will try to ruffle you up so that you don’t have peace. Unbelief is a strong spirit and it is a killing spirit.
If you yield to unbelief, you will begin attacking to kill others that are alive in Christ. You and I need to have enough discernment that when you feel a killing spirit, you immediately lift up a strong standard against it. If you don’t it will take your peace, your life, your standard, and will try to inoculate you with unbelief so that you will have no prayer life, no song, no testimony.
There are times when unbelief has take whole congregations. People fight truth and get under the spirit of unbelief. They go right into the church meetings and try to dampen or hinder them. Bro Warner wrote of a vision he’d had of a flock of blackbirds flying in and darkening the sky. God revealed to him that there would be those that would try to disrupt the revival meeting that they were having. I tell you this so that you can understand that this is an old battle.
We can be more than a conqueror.
