Sister Sharron Sunday School 5/8/16

We’ve been studying on God’s pleasure and His emotions.  It is good to know that God has emotions.  He was pleased at times with His people and He was displeased.

We can have both joy and disappointment.  There is a risk in serving God; in doing His will and His pleasure.  There will be times that we will be disappointed.  I have put my whole heart into reaching out to a soul and have been disappointed.

Heb 13:15  By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

Heb 13:16  But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

Heb 13:17  Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

With these sacrifices God is well pleased.  The enemy knows the value of the Word of God.  Many times he has tried to destroy our source of life.  We should not take it for granted.

We want a good report.  We must maintain ourselves, bring the flesh under, in order to achieve that.  We don’t want God to be grieved with us in any way.

Psa 133:1  A Song of degrees of David. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

Psa 133:2  It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;

Psa 133:3  As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

He wants us to know how to get along.  We all have a weakness somewhere.  We want to consider others as we want to be considered for our weakness.

It is wonderful the effect of dwelling in unity.  It has a wonderful effect.

Pro 16:24  Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

The media and the newspapers must not have read the scripture.  It is the pleasant words and happenings, the things that are good, that help us in our soul.  The politics cannot be our focal point.  People get so upset and riled.

The apostles did not write of the politics of the day.  The politics of that day were not good; they crucified Jesus.

Serving God and loving Him must be primary in our life.

Pro 3:13  Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.

If you have found wisdom you should be happy.

Pro 3:14  For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.

Pro 3:15  She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.

Nothing compares to the wisdom that God has.  Not the rich not the poor.

Pro 3:16  Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.

Pro 3:17  Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.

The saints must not strive.  When people do things that are not right, then it is not right; but we must not enter into anyone else’s strife or our own wisdom.

The fear of the lord is the beginning of wisdom: a respect and a love for God.  When you love God then you appreciate His mannerisms.  We must love God in every way.

Pro 3:18  She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.

It is not enough to look, we must live and maintain her.

She is a tree of life.  Fruit trees produce fruit.  As we walk with God this tree of life produces more and more fruit.  It is wonderful to have a good way to live.  When we pillow our head, we know that we have lived well.

Pro 16:7  When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

When those enemies come at us the best way to handle it is to let it go and not enter into it.  That takes more than I have.  God has to help me.

Joh 8:29  And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

If we want to keep God with us, we want to please, love and praise Him for His goodness to us.

1Th 3:12  And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:

1Th 3:13  To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

1Th 4:1  Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.

Isn’t that good?  The bible doesn’t leave us wondering what we should do.

1Th 4:2  For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.

1Th 4:3  For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:

It takes sanctification to really establish us and help us to not be on the fence but really sold out to God.  It keeps us from being up and down spiritually.  It is the everlasting help we need to help us live this life.

1Th 4:4  That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;

Some things that we do, we need to do just to honor God.  Maybe the black and white of it doesn’t matter, but if there is a better choice, then that is what we want to do, always.

Heb 11:5  By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

This is a wonderful testimony.

Php 4:1  Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.

Php 4:2  I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord.

Php 4:3  And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.

Php 4:4  Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

Php 4:5  Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

Php 4:6  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

God considers everything.  Don’t take things lightly, be serious, and don’t be fearful.

Php 4:7  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Php 4:8  Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Php 4:9  Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Php 4:10  But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity.

Php 4:11  Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

Php 4:12  I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

Php 4:13  I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Php 4:14  Notwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate with my affliction.

Php 4:15  Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.

Php 4:16  For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity.

Php 4:17  Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.

Php 4:18  But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.

Php 4:19  But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Php 4:20  Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Php 4:21  Salute every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren which are with me greet you.

Php 4:22  All the saints salute you, chiefly they that are of Caesar's household.

Php 4:23  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. To the Philippians written from Rome, by Epaphroditus.
