Brother Gary Sunday Morning 5/1/16

Brother Gary Sunday Morning 5/1/16

Psa 8:4  What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

This is a beautiful passage in the Word of God.  I read in the Book of Hebrews one day last week.  It lead me back to this scripture in reference.

God is mindful of mankind.  I have been very stirred.  We read of areas that have a high percentile of hopelessness. When God is left out then Jesus and the Holy Spirit are left out.  When these are not in the proper place in people’s lives, then their life becomes a sponge for hopelessness.

God is a God of hope.  Jesus Christ is our hope.  The Hope of the Holy Spirit in us gives us hope.  God is mindful of us.

It would be a very devastating thing when individuals deteriorate to a state where they feel hopeless.  The enemy of our souls knows no respecter of persons.  If he could begin a work of unbelief on anyone here then he would not stop the steps downward until there was hopelessness.

God is mindful of us.  God visits us.  We can be thankful for that.

Psa 8:1  To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm of David. O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.

Psa 8:2  Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.

Those that understand the greatness of God in creating a child, the greatness of God in a baby:  He give them instincts that they would be able to nurse, and take nourishment.  For those that understand, they come back and say, “It is a miracle.”

It is a miracle the bondage that a soul is immediately released from when they come to God confessing and repenting.  “Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled.”

Not only does God fill and fulfill the new born soul that is newly born again, but he continues to satisfy that hunger within.  As we seek after God with prayer, devotion, immediately it brings food to our soul.

When you get saved, you hunger for the things of God.  When people don’t enjoy reading the bible then they are not saved.  You will have a hunger to read the bible if you are saved, “Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness.”

Oh taste and see that the Lord is good.  With joy shall we draw waters out of the wells of salvation.

I am very protective of the time that I am having devotions.  Sometimes I turn off the phones.  I don’t do much devotions on the computer or it comes to me, “Check the email and check the weather.”  Your soul is at stake.

I am not against people having modern technology, but if it distracts you then don’t bring it to church.  It is vital that you take care of your soul.

It is ordained of God that starting young in our Christian life, we overcome the enemy.

“Thou mightiest still the enemy and the avenger.”

The word of God stops the enemy.  When you use a scripture then the enemy is stopped.  The enemy will come to see if he can get a root of bitterness working in your mind and then see if he can get it in your heart.  If you use the Word of God then the enemy is stopped.

Psa 8:3  When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;

The moon affects everything.  It affects the climate.  That is the work of God’s fingers.  God made the moon.  “If he hung the moon in space, won’t he take care of you and me?”

When I consider the moon and the stars:  The study of the stars is a huge subject.  The stars are bigger than the earth.  God ordained the stars.  God ordained the moon.

Psa 8:4  What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

Heb 2:6  But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him?

David testified, “What is man that thou art mindful of him?”  We need to think about ourselves.  God is mindful of you.  God has a specific plan for you.  God has an unseen coach for every graduate in every school.  There is an unseen coach that we can feel, that we can hear, and that can witness to us.

There are a lot of people that want to influence you children.  We are glad that you are here.  There is an unseen coach.  You can have him by being saved and presenting your body a living sacrifice, having the Holy Spirit.  Jesus was mindful that we needed another comforter.

You cannot exhaust the study on the Holy Spirit.  He is a guide.  Everyone in this audience would have a real respect for children.  All the young people and adults know that it is vital that children have good parents and good grandparents that will listen to the Holy Spirit of God.

“Help me to be living in such a way that the Holy Spirit will be pleased to dwell with me.”  You can be saved and sanctified.  God is no respecter of persons.  Would He give the Holy Spirit to grandma and not give it to you?  God is mindful of us.

God is so mindful of us that he visits us.  Sometimes people wait for God to knock them down.  Don’t go there.  He stands at the door and knocks.  When you hear that knocking that means that He is there.  He always brings something with Him.  He comes to sup with you.

You have something that you want to talk over with Jesus?  You have some decisions that you are making?  You have some things that are working in your heart that make you uncomfortable?  Begin to pray and seek God.  When you sense that there is something trying to work in your life and you realize, “I don’t want this but man cannot handle it himself.”

You will hear that still small voice knocking and telling you, “You need to take care of this.  You need to take care of that.”  It is easy to do business with God.  He is ready to help you with everything that you need.

Heb 1:1  God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

Heb 1:2  Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

Only God knows where sin would have taken Mel Trotter, but one day Jesus spoke.

Jesus is to receive all the glory and all the praise.  He showers down blessings and then you come back and give them to God.  Everything that we have comes from God.  The wonderfulness of fellowship is not because some man is here.  God is here.

We need to know His voice.  If we know His voice then you will recognize the voice of a stranger.

God speaks and then it comes to us:

Heb 2:1  Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

Heb 2:2  For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;

Heb 2:3  How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

You say, “How can I know it is God or if it is another voice?”  God and His Word always agree.  You may say, “I was wondering if God was pleased with this.”  The voice and the Spirit of God will always agree with the Word of God.

I remember when I really wanted to go to Mount Tabor Camp-meeting.  I applied for the time off and the boss told me to come back tomorrow.  I felt my flesh striving.  I felt God say to me, “The servant of the Lord must not strive.”  God’s way is always best.  It may not be as you planned but it will be best.

When God speaks to us it is for our good and for our salvation.  Salvation means deliverance, help, safety, victory, and health.  When God speaks He speaks for our good.  Our deliverance, our help, our safety.

Isn’t it wonderful when God speaks, “Let your words be few?”

He speaks to me, “Be careful there son.”  Everyone in this audience has some modern conveniences.  Our phone rings, God witnesses to our heart, “You are past sixty now, you require more rest than you used to.”

The person on the phone asks, “Will you do this or that?”  Weigh it before you answer.  Wait upon the Lord.  “He that hasteth with his feet sinneth.”  There are some situations that if you get in, it will take its toll.

God has a plan for victory for every soul.  The price was paid, the blood has been applied to the doorposts of your soul.  Cast down any evil thought or bad attitude, flee to Christ.

Our health:  sin makes people sick, emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually. Do you want a healthy mind?  Make healthy decisions?  Have a healthy attitude?  It takes salvation to have a healthy attitude.

In Malachi it says, “The lord hearkened.”

God was listening.  They spake often one to another.  God wrote a book of remembrance for those that fear the Lord and call upon His name.

We will talk about what we think about.  It is natural.  There is something about talking about God and encouraging one another.  There is something about edifying and being edified.

God always comes through.  Jesus never fails.  God is mindful of us.  He is mindful of these children.

 When you are torn, fix your eyes upon Jesus and follow Him.  When you are in the decision making process and don’t know which way to turn, “the lot is cast into the lap of the Lord and the whole disposing of it is of the Lord.”
