Brother Gary Sunday Evening 5/1/16

Brother Gary Sunday Evening 5/1/16

Eph 4:1  I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

It is never ordained of any man to call any individual: “This gift is yours because I am calling you into it.”

D.S. Warner was saved and called to preach and preached prior to sanctification.  The goal is, wherever we are, that we continue and go on for God and truth.  Where ever we are, God gives the gifts and the callings.

We want to, as the scripture teaches us, walk worthy of the calling wherewith He has called us.

With all lowliness and meekness with longsuffering.  There is no calling that qualifies us to be rash.  God’s time frame and working is not what our time frame or working is.  It is so important that with all lowliness we realize how blessed we are to be a servant of God.

I probably feel a little more comfortable reaching to the down and outer.  Sometimes on the road of life God has given me the call to reach to the down and out that are very successful.  They need Jesus.

The journey of life brings every soul starting with the children to the crossroad, “I really need Jesus.”

God in his mercy allows some people, like Brother Pat Brown, who came to us.  He had journeyed to his eighties and God crossed his path again and this time he yielded to God.  There is nothing impossible to God.

What is of a great price to God is that in that secret closet of prayer and in our relationship with one another we are lowly and meek and full of longsuffering.

God will place you with people that don’t have as much understanding as you have and with people that have more understanding.  A little child can lead us.

I still love the concept that Brother Maconahae taught, “If you are called of God you can help children and then it can turn about and it is marvelous the lessons that a child teaches us.”

We learn the accounts of the Old and New Testament and we learn them as children.  We go back to them again and what depth!  According to wherever you are spiritually that is how God causes His Word, doctrine, and truth to be.  It is just the right amount for you spiritually where you are.

Then He brings the very basic principles of the Word of God: “You must be born again.”  There is nothing simple about that message.  It is beyond us to grasp, yet a child can grasp it.

Walk worthy, walk with lowliness, walk with meekness, and walk with longsuffering.

Forbearing one another in love.  We can spoil all our good work by allowing impatience to move in on us.  We have to take care of our physical body or we will be grouchy.  God doesn’t intend you to be on busy mountain, He wants you to be on Mount Zion and He will give you just the right amount of work.

Forbear one another in love.  Take care of yourself.  We are blessed for every opportunity we have to read the wonderful Word of God, and to pray.  I like to pray the Lord’s Prayer, “Not my will.”

Endeavoring to keep the unity of Spirit in the bond of peace.

My prayer would be that God would give you sons and daughters in the church.  Boys and girls, they are without a guide.  We need individuals that will love and extend themselves as Paul did to Timothy.

1Ti 4:11  These things command and teach.

1Ti 4:12  Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

1Ti 4:13  Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

If you are saved then you are different.  There is not anything in a saved person that wants to draw attention to themselves.  There is something about the spirit of God in us that we are not of the world.  We must be an example of the believers.

In word…  In our speech and in our conduct.  In charity, charity never fails.  Show the love of God.  If it is rejected, it doesn’t fail.  Be an example in spirit.  The spirits of the world are ugly.  They are ugly everywhere.

Be an example in faith and an example in purity.

Give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.  Read and study the scriptures.  Know what the bible says.  Every one of us as saints, it would be good to pray, “God, help me to have a spirit of exhortation so that I can help precious souls.”  That is what the goal is.

We need the Spirit to help us.  The world is so mixed up.  Moms don’t want to be moms.  That precious young man that has been married twice and doesn’t have a mother for his children.  The life of sin is such that unless he gets saved, he will do the same thing all over again and again.

It takes repentance, baptism, measuring, and being filled with the Holy Ghost or people go right back to where they were before.

Give attendance to doctrine.  If there is anything that we need to lift high it is the doctrine.  It is the doctrine that separates us from Babylon.  It is the doctrine that brings an experience of salvation, sanctification, and victory.  Without doctrine people drift until they are just going through a religious form.

1Ti 4:14  Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

Whatever gift God has given you, don’t neglect it.  Take care of it as, “This is from God and I am accountable to God.  God, you have been so good to give me something to help souls with.  You have been so good to give me something to help the church with.”

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to encourage someone?  Wouldn’t it just encourage your soul to encourage someone?  There are a lot of people hopeless today.  Don’t neglect your gift.

1Ti 4:15  Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

Give thyself wholly to them.  This is a living sacrifice.  This is the will of God.

1Ti 4:16  Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

I realize that I am closer to my end than I am to my beginning.  I will not live to be 130.  Take heed to thyself and the doctrine.  Keep truth real.
