Brother Gary Kelly Sunday Morning 7/8/12

Brother Gary Kelly Sunday Morning 7/8/12
1Ch 17:1  Now it came to pass, as David sat in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in an house of cedars, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD remaineth under curtains.
1Ch 17:2  Then Nathan said unto David, Do all that is in thine heart; for God is with thee.

As David was sitting in his house, God visited him.  I’m impressed with God’s visitations.  God visits each one of us.

The ark was under curtains in the tabernacle that was moveable.  David had it in his heart to build a dwelling, a temple for God.  He and the children of Israel offered willingly to see this magnificent building built.  David never saw the temple built but he bankrupted himself giving of what he had to the building of the temple then he turned to the people and they gave willingly of their resources to build the temple.

1Ch 29:9  Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the LORD: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.

God is offering and looking in the Gospel Day for men and women that will give and yield themselves as a willing sacrifice to God, for whatever God would want to do with them, their resources and their possessions.

1Ch 29:10  Wherefore David blessed the LORD before all the congregation: and David said, Blessed be thou, LORD God of Israel our father, for ever and ever.
1Ch 29:11  Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.
1Ch 29:12  Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.
1Ch 29:13  Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.

God gave what money cannot buy when He sent Jesus.  Jesus brought into the scene: the saving of the soul of mankind, sanctifying of the nature of mankind, giving of the gifts, the Holy Spirit and the fruit of the Spirit.  Jesus set up a church that the gates of hell cannot prevail against.  We have much to praise and thank God for in this Gospel Day.

The greatness of God in creation, in restoration!  The greatness of God to restore a life!  We each were on the path to destruction; we stayed there for however long.  Broad is the road that leads to destruction.  We were all going down that road and were in process of being destroyed by sin.  It is the greatness of God to take a life that has been messed up by sin and a mind that has been polluted by sin to clean up the mind and the life and restore.

To think of the power of God that you can be kept!  The power of God to answer prayer!  To think of the tragedies of the accidents that have caused deaths in the past while.  We’ve prayed for protection for travelers.  Thank the Lord for safety.

In the evil that we live and walk among, the days are evil and we are taught to try the spirits.  Satan is loosed and there are terrible spirits that are loosed.  When you stop and think of the terrible spirits that possess men and women today:  Every move that they make is an unclean move.  It may be a religious move; they work so they can practice more uncleanness.  If you are here this morning and have been delivered from unclean spirits then you have much to thank God for.

The glory:  We serve a God that has a presence.  We have felt His presence at different times.

We serve a God of victory.  Our eternal God can give us victory in the trials that we face.  God is a God of majesty.

If you are in this audience and you have any lack or are seeking a miracle, when God says let there be peace, the storm that you are in whether literally or spiritually ends.  There can be a great stillness from God, “I have heard from God and He has brought peace.”

I think of the soldiers that are in Afghanistan and they are not only facing death every day but every minute of every day.  We serve a God that has majesty and a way of protecting spiritually and physically.  Majesty means grandeur.  Almighty God speaks and there is.  Before the moon and stars ever existed God said, “Let there be light” and there was light.

There is a beauty in a child that can only identify with God.  Someone I read about saw a brand new baby and said, “Baby, tell me all about God before you forget.”

Often we forget about God that is eternal.  We get caught up in the things of the world and forget about the God that created the beautiful rose, the rivers, and lakes.  We see the beauty of God in the beauty of a bird.  There is the beauty of God in your life at whatever age you are.

Ps 90: Let the beauty of the Lord rest upon us.

At my exact age and your exact age God has beauty for your life.  God wants us to let this shine out to those that may only see the beauty that you show to them.

God can help us step into a situation that is all wrong and yet have the beauty of God in your life.  There are some situations that are all wrong and there are some situations that are wrong because of rebellion and Babylon, because of hatred or bitterness.  God can step into those situations and restore beauty.

I don’t appreciate being in a situation that is awkward.  You can be in a situation and have the beauty of God with you.  You don’t have to be a hypocrite or evil, you can have the comeliness of God in the midst of a wrong situation.

Daniel had an excellent spirit.  May God help His majesty work in us that we have an excellent spirit.

1Ch 29:18  O LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their heart unto thee:

How big God is! There are some things that he wants us to keep in our heart:

Keep praises going up.  Give God much praise.  Our life our situation, our finances, etc. may not be perfect.  If this is what you are talking about, Stop right there.  Why are you going down that road?  Let’s go up the other road: You have a God that has majesty, you have a God that is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all that you can ask or think.

Keep the idea of “Who am I?”  What is it about some that they think that they should have special attention all the time.  God doesn’t want you spoiled.  God gave us the wonderful example of giving to us and He wants you to be giving to one another.

We are all blessed because today is the day of salvation.  You can leave this building this morning knowing that you are saved and there is a place prepared for you in heaven.  You can know that God loves you and there can be an innumerable number of angels to help you.

Who am I?  Who am I that I can hear the brother play the mouth harp?  Who am I that I can look at a baby and count five fingers?  Who am I that I should be able to look out and see the sun shining?  Who am I that I can know the fellowship of the brothers and sisters in Christ?

“Keep this in the imaginations of their hearts forever.”

What counts with God is not what family you were born from but saying, “God I want to prepare for you a place to dwell in.”  He is not talking of the literal temple but a heart prepared to serve God.

Keep it in the thoughts that “I am a stranger here.”  This world is not our home.  I appreciate the building and grounds being maintained, but we are a stranger and are just passing through.  We need to keep this in our hearts lest we allow our hearts to become filled with comfort, ease, and possessions.

Of everything that we have this morning, one thing that we have that is so important is that we have hope.  I don’t know what the plan of God is for everyone of us this morning but God gives hope.  You may need a miracle in your body or in your mind.  God is a God that gives us hope.  Give that hope back to Him.  “God I am hoping in your mercy.”

I think of minds that we want to see restored and brokenness that we want to see healed.  If it were not for God there would be no hope.

“My expectation is from God.”  You need to wear a smile because you are expecting things from God.  If you continue to be down and out, then you have the wrong God.

Pain is a part of life.  Even children suffer pain.  I strongly believe that children shouldn’t know the pain of rejection until whatever age, but they do know.  I believe that old people should be well cared for and sweet, but that isn’t always the case.

God will try our hearts: if we tell God that we love Him then He will put us through the test, “Do you really love me?”  When we are put to the test: if we lose all that we worked to gather at once, I want to say with Job, “The lord gave and the Lord takes away, blessed be the name of the Lord.”

God I love you with all my heart.  When I am full of pain I want to say, “Praise be unto God.”  If we have the real thing then it will always be gold even in the midst of trials.

Prepare our hearts:  I trust God prepared your heart to worship.  I spent time in bed yesterday praying that God would prepare our hearts.  I was in bed because I hurt.  We can think of other things than our pain when we are in pain.  Thinking of the pain doesn’t take it away.

There is a pattern for the perfect heart that was given in the tabernacle.  It started with the blood sacrifice that is Jesus.  If you want a perfect heart then you must start with Jesus.  It is only by His blood that the record can be clear.

You must then go through Jesus, the door.  Many people try to be saved through good works or baptism.  In order to have a perfect heart you must come through Christ, the door.  Jesus said, “I am the door.”  Jesus came so that we could have a perfect heart.

The candlestick:  God has a way of shining the light into our path and our heart.  “Thy word is a light to my feet and to my path.”  If you are determined that “I’m going to do it my way” then you will be lost.

The show bread:  Eating the good things of God.  Eat things that are sweet as well as those that are hard to eat.  We say, “God give me grace and I will obey thy word.”

The laver: the washing of the water by the word.  “Let the word and the blood wash all my sins away.”

The golden altar:  The place where we go when we want to have perfect love, perfect submission, perfect rest and dwell in the Holiest of Holies.  We present our bodies a living sacrifice, Holy and acceptable to the Lord.  This is your reasonable service.

If He asked for talent, cows, or money you could say, “I don’t have it.”  What He asks for is a life that has repented, confessed and turned from sin.  You can present your life a living sacrifice.

Be not conformed to the world.  If you conform to the world then it will cost you a whole lot more than you want to give.

Be transformed that you may prove.  Lay aside every weight.  If you are weighted down with fear, care, self, lay it aside and take God’s way.

In the Holiest of Holies there is perfect love.  We can tell God “I love you perfectly” and God tells us, “I love you perfectly.”

Little children will play with whatever is around.  There are some things that they shouldn’t play with.  Cole loves to build a fire, but what if he builds one on the rug.  He will only take from us what would be detrimental.  He will only give to us what would be beneficial.

Will God give me everything that I need?  “Seek you first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you.”

God gives perfect communion:  He told Moses, “There will I meet with you and talk to you.”  There are times that I need someone to talk to.  There is one that you can commune with.  For everything that is right to talk about you can commune with Him.  If your life doesn’t have open communication between you and God, God is saying, “I want you to have perfect love, perfect communication, and perfect safety.

Ps 91: He that dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

The snares are a part of life.  Are you dwelling where you will be delivered?

Luk 4:10  For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:
Luk 4:11  And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

The angels of the Lord are 1000’s of 1000’s.  There are innumerable angels.  If you long for perfect love, don’t let the world teach you about love or you will be really messed up.  The perfect safety can be found in the Holiest of Holies.  Let Him give you perfect safety.
