Psalms 24:1-6 KJVR
(1) A Psalm of David. The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
(2) For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
(3) Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?
(4) He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
(5) He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
(6) This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.
Verse 5. He shall receive the blessing from the Lord.
Matthew 7:7 KJVR
(7) Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
Matthew 7:13 KJVR
(13) Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Matthew 7:14 KJVR
(14) Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
It is wonderful that the promise is to us to ask, seek, and knock and it will be given, we will find, and it shall be opened.
When we go to seek God, we have to unload of everything that would hold us back, because straight is the gate and narrow is the way…
There are a lot of things that people turn to try to find a savior; people think, “This will really be what I need.” There is only one divine savior.
Lamentations 3:25 KJVR
(25) The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
It is sad when people run ahead of God. God favors those that wait for Him.
Proverbs 3:4 KJVR
(4) So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
Favor is speaking of the grace of God. There is a way to not fail of the grace of God and that is to seek Him with all our heart and to not grieve the Holy Spirit of God. You don’t have to grieve the Holy Spirit of God. You can take the checks that He sends and be obedient to His leading.
Proverbs 3:1-3 KJVR
(1) My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
(2) For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
(3) Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
There is no more frightening thought than to have mercy and truth forsake you.
Proverbs 3:4-5 KJVR
(4) So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
(5) Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
You can trust Jesus. He is divine. There are many things that are not to be trusted in, that may change before the week is over. The security of many is becoming insecure daily. None of us have the assurance of always having our health and our home. It is wonderful to be able to trust Jesus. He is the divine savior.
Lean not to thine own understanding. It is impossible for us to have everything figured out; the earth is the Lords.
Luke 2:52 KJVR
(52) And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
Luke 2:40 KJVR
(40) And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.
This Jesus is Divine. He grew and the grace of God was upon Him. If you and I will not grieve the Holy Spirit of God and if we will seek Him with all our hearts, we will have the favor of God upon us.
Genesis 6:5-9 KJVR
(5) And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
(6) And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
(7) And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
(8) But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
(9) These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.
Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
A few of the blessings of those that seek God:
They shall find Him.
God honors those that seek Him with grace(Lam 3:25).
Ezra, headed back to build, going to go through dangerous territory. At times, literally, physically and spiritually we are in dangerous territory(Ezra 8:22). Ezra said, “God’s hand was so good to bless us so far, His hand will continue to be upon us.
Jesus came to give us life and life more abundant.
Another blessing is that God will prosper you. The young lions will lack, but those that seek after God shall not want any good thing.
Ps 105:3 Heart rejoice that seek the Lord. Seek God and you will have rejoicing.
Ps 27:4 One thing have I desired and that will I seek after… to behold the beauty of the Lord.
There is something (physically, spiritually, and emotionally) that changes in us when we behold the beauty of the Lord. Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth is Mt Zion.
May this congregation seek God and not grieve the Sprit of God.
Psalms 102:13 KJVR
(13) Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.
