Brother Gary Sunday Morning 11/30/14

Brother Gary Sunday Morning 11/30/14
Deu 32:1  Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.
Deu 32:2  My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:
Deu 32:3  Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God.
Deu 32:4  He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

God moved upon Moses and he felt comfortable with heaven listening to what he had to say.  Those that would be in heavenly places in Christ Jesus in the Gospel Day, may they hear.  His doctrines and truths are to be as a gentle rain, as dew gathering on our soul, our plant and our tree.  That it be a dew coming resting there, gathering, giving strength as the Word of God.

Ascribe greatness unto God.  All that have any exposure to children, enjoy the wonderful experience of them learning things and enjoying coloring in the color book, making pancakes, or whatever.  They come up with the words, “Isn’t this amazing?”, or “awesome.”  As well as I enjoy pancakes, I wouldn’t call them awesome.  The word ‘awesome’ to me belongs to God.

God is awesome.  Ascribe greatness to God.  You and I know that Moses was a child that was a part of the plan of being destroyed by Pharaoh.  God protected him.  There is a source in life that wants to destroy us, wants to destroy what God ordained for us.

God protected Moses for 40 years in the palace, then for another forty years in the middle of nowhere.  Then for another forty years as he came back and told Pharaoh, “Let my people go.”
May we not forget what God has done, what He is doing, and that we have a vision afar off of what He is going to do.

Moses wanted you and me to know that this God is the rock.  In a world that is so unstable, you cannot trust the words of man even of yesterday.  All those things will fade and disappear.

One thing you can trust and that is this Rock.  His work is perfect.  There is no question in my mind, God is working today and is really working where men and women will let Him work.

Isa 43:13  Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it?

Will we let God work?  “God work in my life.”  His work is perfect.  You won’t understand or see it all when He begins to work with you.  Our job as the clay with the potter is to let Him work.

He is unique in that His way is judgment.  When He works with us He always shows, “This is not my plan; this is my plan.”  You can trust Jesus, He won’t take things from you and leave you as a pauper and a beggar.  He takes away what will not be becoming or prosperous; it will lead you in a way that is broader and broader.

He is a God of truth.  It is wonderful that in a world that is so confused and will make statements, “There is no such thing as truth.”  There is truth.  It belongs to God.

There is a God that inhabits eternity.  There are a lot of mysteries in this world, things that will never be understood by man.  Even in the creation of the world and how it all comes together and works, what was written fifty years ago is no longer currently thought to be true.

Isa 57:15  For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

It is wonderful that there is someone that we can identify with that is an authority.  He inhabits eternity.  Someday He wants you to be there with Him forever in eternity.

We want to ascribe greatness, honor, and respect to the one that dwells in the high and holy place with him that is of a contrite and humble spirit.

Those that are not a teenager yet, that are coming upon 13, in eternity there is an eternal God that loves you.  When you come to Him and acknowledge “I really need you.”

For everyone in this audience no matter the age, your journey of life will bring you to a place where you desperately need God.  The earlier you get there and learn to handle it the right way, the earlier you will enjoy the benefits of it.

Whoever would tell you how great you are and how much potential you have, don’t count on that, for the world is fickle.  They only have to decide, “This one is my favorite instead of that one.”  God is not that way.

God loves you.  He has the hairs of your head numbered.  He knows about everyone everywhere.  When an individual becomes contrite, what makes life beautiful is an individual recognizing, “I really need God.”

There are many pretty girls and good looking boys.  There is something more important than that.  That is to recognize that “I really need God.”  To be contrite you recognize, “I need you, God, more than anything else in my life.”

God will be faithful and true to you.  We as parents have a responsibility to teach and train the children that they need God.

Life will drain you.  When I was so sick, I looked forward to the day when I could just go and go.  Get a little rest, shower, and go again.  God helped me to know, “You are a man.  Not a caterpillar.  I’m not referring to the little animal.”

All that are strong and able to go, go, and go, enjoy the season for it won’t be forever.  You in this audience that have worn out your bodies, I want to tell you that there is a God that can give strength.

Some in this audience have prayed, prayed, and prayed.  My mother prayed for years that my dad would get saved.  Every Sunday morning she either had a spoken or an unspoken prayer request.  Unless God revives you then you will get old and brittle.

He is the God that revives the heart of the contrite ones.

Deu 33:27  The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.

Of all the things that are out here in this world that you need to be protected from, they are beyond what my mind can tell you.  I don’t grasp modern technology.  From those things that will destroy your mind and twist your character:  Young ladies are to have virtue.  Young men are to have valor.  Valor is the masculine form of virtue.

Young men need valor.  Any of us men that have lived a while, have been exposed to those things that destroy the mind and destroy the soul.  Valor will keep you from being so messed up that you can never live a fulfilled life.

When I think of the millions of dollars that are being spent to cause your mind to be taken in by curiosity, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes.  This man Moses left the message, “The eternal God is thy refuge.”

Young men, take your bible, find someone with a bible and say, “I want to have valor in my life.  I don’t want to end up as all the examples out there.  I want to end up as Moses that ended the journey well.”

Underneath are the everlasting arms.

Think in your mind how far, how far can Marcie pack Zoe?  With all the strength and adrenaline of a mother, if there were perils she could go a lot further than statistics would say a little lady of 93 pounds can pack a child of 15 pounds.  Still there comes a time of total exhaustion.

You will reach a point of total exhaustion, you have carried the burden, spent, racked your mind, “How can I make another 100.”  The 100 we were short was just as hard to come by as the 1,000 short that we reached a little later in life.

Life will bring you to the place of exhaustion.  We try to save the little bit of strength in our life for the precious moments in our life, when we receive an invitation, or someone calls from afar, or our grandchildren are coming.

God help me to have strength to not only be hospitable if Coby and Matt came but to look at the situation.  My burden and prayer is to see them saved and sanctified.  It won’t happen from an exhausted person.

You and I have heard of orphans.  My heart goes out to children.  Children love a home, a place where dad sits down and plays with them.  It doesn’t matter if they are playing trains or rolling balls.

Annie Flint was adopted.  Her mother died in childbirth.  For your children if you have a mother, thank God for her, thank her for being your mom, and pray for her.  If you have a dad, thank God for him, tell him thank you for being a dad, and pray for your dad.

Annie wasn’t her birth name.  Her dad contacted a disease that took his life.  Before he died, he gave Annie and her sister to a childless couple, the Flints.  Those adoptive parents died.  Twice orphaned.

Annie started teaching so that she could take care of herself and her sister.  Soon she felt pain in her body and her body began to become deformed and then surrendered to arthritis.  I have a lot to be thankful for.

This little Annie learned about underneath being everlasting arms.  She and her sister were in dire straits but she knew God.

1.   He giveth more grace as our burdens grow greater,
He sendeth more strength as our labors increase;
To added afflictions He addeth His mercy,
To multiplied trials He multiplies peace.
2.   When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources
Our Father’s full giving is only begun.
3.   Fear not that thy need shall exceed His provision,
Our God ever yearns His resources to share;
Lean hard on the arm everlasting, availing;
The Father both thee and thy load will upbear.
4.   His love has no limits, His grace has no measure,
His power no boundary known unto men;
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.
Annie J. Flint

When you need someone to talk to, when you feel that you need a place of security.  There is a place.  No wonder Moses said to ascribe greatness to Him.

Deu 33:27  The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.

Thrust means, not just to calm down the enemy.  Moses was so inspired by God, almost ready to die and be buried by God.  Thrust means He will drive out or expel the enemy.

Isaiah was moved upon to give us a prophecy 7 years before Jesus was born.

Isa 9:6  For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Unto us.  To you.  To everyone.
