Brother Gary Wednesday Evening 10/10/12

Brother Gary Wednesday Evening 10/10/12
Paul had a history that was not a good history.  He was a law-keeper.  He didn’t believe that Jesus was the messiah and had persecuted the Jews that did. Paul had been injurious but here he brought the thought that the grace of the Lord was exceeding abundant.

1Ti 1:14  And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
1Ti 1:15  This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
1Ti 1:16  Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
1Ti 1:17  Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

We don’t know everything about grace.  The grace of God has appeared to all men.  God knows each man and He knows each need.  God has a way of breaking people.  If they allow the breaking to affect them in a right way then they will be a very blessed individual.

God is a God of abundance.  I want to encourage your faith tonight.  This eternal God is abundant in faith.  If you find yourself being rubbed by someone, this same God is abundant in love.

Everyone that has been on our prayer request list for the last fifty years, (it doesn’t matter how far in sin they have gone), God is able to save them.

Paul said that he was the chief of sinners.  This guy that was persecuting the followers of Jesus, the very disciples of Christ, (he was consenting to Stephen’s death so to whatever degree he was a murderer.), God was longsuffering.  God suffers a long time to bring an individual to Bible Salvation.

How good God is to protect us, to provide for us, to shed light on our pathway!  How merciful God is!  We are praying for people that are many of them like the 10 lepers, they want their need met but they never come back and thank God for meeting their need.  We need to thank God for His wonderful goodness.

Why do false religions oppose the thought that Jesus Christ resurrected?  They hope they will not have to give an account for the way that they have lived.  We are all going to go to the judgment.  We can look forward to the day when we cross the Jordan and stand in the Judgment.

There are principals in this Kingdom that are so right.  Many in the USA have wrong principals.  Our country was established on right principals with checks and balances.  Because of evil people in our country they have sought out evil inventions and corrupted things.

This King is immortal.  He went to the cross and then arose to never die again.  He is even now sitting at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us.

He is invisible.  The reason that we are here tonight is because the invisible God had mercy on us.  We can thank God that there is a true God that is invisible.  He protects us on the roads.  Something could go wrong in our wiring and our house could catch fire.  I have some good electrician friends, but I have a good friend that is invisible.

Thank God for the warning that comes from the invisible God.  He is invisible and his spirit is invisible.  Thank God for protecting us from barking hounds: barking unbelief, barking fear, barking worry and all sorts of things.  There is an invisible God that sees those hounds.

I read the other day that the heart of God spoke.  It is a marvelous thing when the heart of God speaks to our heart and says, “Son or daughter, watch and pray.  Be before God asking Him to search you.  He is invisible and sees what you and I might not be able to see.

He is the only wise God.  You can trust Jesus.  We all have our flesh and our humanity to deal with and the way we think we like things.  Submit things to God and if things don’t go the way that you want them to go then you won’t hear the self pity dog barking here.

1Ti 1:18  This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;
1Ti 1:19  Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:

Something that we want to hold onto is faith and a good conscience.  People had leaned to their own understanding, had become carnal and had made shipwreck.  When people make shipwreck then they are backslidden.  We are to have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness.

There are bad spirits out there, when men and women leave good conscience and make shipwreck then they have a bad spirit.

1Ti 1:20  Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.

Paul was bold and said it like it was.

1Ti 2:1  I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

Supplication is praying that evil spirits be held at bay.  I pray this way especially for the children and for the aged.  It seems that they are especially a target of the enemy.  I pray that way for myself too and for all the saints.  If we open ourselves to evil then we bring the whole congregation with us.  No man lives to himself and no man dies to himself.

Prayer is engaging ourselves with God, praising God and saying, “God I want to before you with clean hands, clean heart, and clean mind.”

Intercessions: people on our prayer request list are in a position where they need intercession.  To intercede is to ask God to help us feel that we are there with the need.  God, I want to intercede.

Giving of thanks, I am so convicted; it would take all eternity for us to thank God enough.  Don’t wait until you get to heaven to thank God.

1Ti 2:2  For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
1Ti 2:3  For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

God has an appreciation for right principals.  He appreciates us to live in a world that belongs to Him.  This world doesn’t belong to us; it belongs to Him.  Every soul in the world belongs to God; the air that they breathe and the land that they stand on is all God’s.  This is the will of God that we live a quiet and peaceful life.

1Ti 2:4  Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
1Ti 2:5  For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
1Ti 2:6  Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

Because men love darkness, they love that which is wrong in the eyes of God, and then it keeps people from being saved.

1Ti 2:7  Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.
1Ti 2:8  I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

The events of life will make you full of wrath.  People will do you wrong and it is just a normal thing for the majority of people to say, “That is not right.”  The only thing to do is to forgive.  People will lie on you.   There is only one thing to do and that is to forgive them and pray for them.

Injustices at school, at work, from family members, even well meaning saints may do an injustice to you.  The only thing to do is to forgive them.

The scripture says, “Without wrath.”  You and I have to have holy hands without wrath.  People take all they can get from you and then when you ask them to help you, they have plans.  Two weeks later or the next day they want your help again.  Forgive them; we must pray without wrath.

Without doubting: the hounds of unbelief, unbelief put Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden.  Unbelief has robbed so many souls of so many blessings.  Unbelief has caused souls that could have been mightily used of God to just settle down in the rocking chair and see what others would do.

How many today are sick because of unbelief? Or have no fire in their soul because of unbelief?  Everything that happens to you and to me we can turn by faith to help us climb the mountain through faith.

Paul said, “I was a bad man but abundant faith through love and grace did its work on me.”
