Brother Gary Sunday Evening 9/30/12
Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of
God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to
stand.
Eph 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about
with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
Eph 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of
the gospel of peace;
Eph 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith,
wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the
sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Eph 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and
supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and
supplication for all saints;
The helmet of Salvation: God has designed a plan that there
is a protection that we can put over our mind and have it covered by the blood
of Jesus Christ. It moves upon us what to think about and what not to think
about.
It is a wonderful covering of what not to put in our
minds. This is vitally important for
those that are gifted with finding things on the internet if you have friends
or associates that are not clear on the doctrine your mind can be targeted by
their thoughts, issues or comments.
This helmet of salvation indicates Jesus Christ because
there is no name given among men whereby we must be saved. It is helmet that has been given to those
that have been delivered from sin and from self. Our mind doesn’t have to be open to
everything that is talked about so openly in the world today. People talk about things so freely.
God wants our mind healthy, in order to put the helmet of
salvation on, God wants our minds all cleaned up. He’s not going to cover a bunch of
garbage. He will not take us in while we
still have a bunch of agendas. Before
being cleaned up, you’d have this in your mind about one and something else
about another.
It is wonderful to have the Holy Spirit. It is wonderful that God has given us a sword
that will separate us from those things that separated us from God and will also
destroy them.
‘Praying always’ includes worshipping God. I’m praying because I am worshipping God, I
love God and it is God that keeps and changes us into the image that he’d have
us to be.
Prayer is humbling but that is a wonderful place to be,
humbling ourselves under the mighty hand of God, supplicating with God that
evils will be averted. Prayer allows us
to have the benefit of you and me not being distracted and able to accomplish
what God would have us to do.
God wants us to pray for all saints.
Eph 6:19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto
me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
He said to pray for yourself, pray for everyone else, and
pray for me. Pray ‘that utterance may be
given…’ Your words: Pray for
utterance. The Gospel doesn’t have to be
harsh. Paul was asking for prayer that
he’d be able to speak in the right way.
Paul wanted them to pray for him that he’d have utterance,
that he’d open his mouth boldly. If you
are afraid of offending someone then pray in all seasons. Pray for yourself that you will not open your
mouth without thinking. Pray that you
can open your mouth boldly that you could make known the mystery of the gospel.
The majority of the people don’t understand the mystery of
the Gospel. They have serving God as
living in a straight jacket and as an unenjoyable thing. A clear conscience is a wonderful thing. It is a wonderful thing that our sins can go
before us to the judgment. We are all
headed there.
It is a wonderful thing that this gospel can make a husband
a good husband, a wife a good wife and children good children. It is a mystery. People don’t know anything about it.
An ambassador is a minister from another country. For many years America has been looked upon
as the greatest country in the world. I
don’t know how it is looked at today, but one thing that I know exceeds
everything is heaven. This ambassador
was in bonds and wanted to speak as he ought.
We represent the spiritual world as ambassadors from
heaven. We represent the treasures of
heaven. Jesus said, “I’ll give you
treasure in heaven.” If you have
treasure in heaven then no thief can break through and steal.
Eph 6:23 Peace be
to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus
Christ.
This ambassador left these words to the brethren, “Peace be
to you. Love in faith.” It is wonderful when people work with others
to have peace. Love: everybody
appreciates love with faith. God can
take every situation and with faith in Him bring something good.
Eph 6:24 Grace be
with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen. To the Ephesians written from Rome, by Tychicus.
