Brother Gary Sunday Evening 10/14/12
Psa 24:1 A Psalm of David. The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the
world, and they that dwell therein.
Joh 1:15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying,
This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me:
for he was before me.
Joh 1:16 And of his fulness have all we received, and
grace for grace.
We see in the Psalm that the earth and its fullness belong
to God. In John we read that we have
received of the fullness of Jesus. There
is a fullness of Christ and we have the opportunity to receive it.
We have been blessed to receive the fullness of God’s
earth. We have full cellars and full
deepfreezes. We are blessed to be able
to move and things like that. We are
blessed.
This goes to another realm.
It goes to what Jesus brought to us.
Our lives are blessed but we live below our privileges. As I worked on this lesson I saw clearly that
the greatness of the fullness of Christ is designed for us to have and to
enjoy.
There are hounds that would bark and make us feel that we
are unqualified. Our flesh will hound us
out of praying if it can. It will hound
us out of getting good from the scriptures and will run us ragged, but this is
not God’s fault, it is ours.
Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but
by me.
Jesus said explicitly, there is no question, “I am the
way.” There is a highway, “I’m traveling
a highway, a beautiful road, it leads up to heaven…”
There is also another way: “there is a way that seems right
to man.” There are millions that are
walking that way that seems right and if we don’t pray and do right spiritually
then we will be traveling our own way.
We can know that we are traveling The Way because the Spirit
of God witnesses to our heart. There is
absolute truth. Anything that goes
contrary to the teachings of the Word of God is wrong.
We strive to be politically correct and I’m not sure
why. The world is not that way in any
way so I don’t know why we have to try to be.
The world will say anything, be flippant, loose and so on, but if you
say anything then they are immediately offended.
There is absolute truth.
Jesus has given to us of His fullness so that we could live in absolute
truth. Absolute truth helps us to know
where we came from and where we are and where we are headed. Absolute truth gives us liberty, power, and
direction. It is a marvelous thing.
We have the Word, 66 books, and the Holy Spirit that always
witnesses to truth. Jesus gave us this Word
so that we can have life. We can have
enough life to bring our flesh into subjection and say, “I’m going to read and
pray.” We can have life and spiritual
life; His fullness will put us all the way into serving God.
Eph 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will
of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ
Jesus:
Eph 1:2 Grace be
to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from
the Lord Jesus Christ.
Eph 1:3 Blessed be
the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all
spiritual blessings in heavenly places
in Christ:
Paul in exhorting the Ephesians said, “Grace and Peace. God has blessed us with all the spiritual
blessings…”
God has blessed us with all the fullness. Let’s get rightly related to Christ, get our
minds working right, read and pray and get this body into subjection so that we
can receive all of the fullness of Christ.
Be blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.
Pro 8:21 That I may cause those that love me to
inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.
Of the fullness of Christ have we all received. The way to receive these things is to be
broken, contrite, and teachable. You are
immediately disqualified if you know everything.
If you humble yourself before God and say, “I need to be
filled with thy treasures.” He has the
wisdom, He has the treasures, He has the balance, and He can fill us with all
His fullness.
Don’t waste your time, your mind, God’s time, don’t set
around until you become so solitary that you only have things from videos, TV,
internet. He wants to fill your treasures. Real character is built from you seeking God
with all your heart.
God wants to fill our mind.
Your mind is a treasure. You want
that mind filled with the right things.
You want to keep that mind learning and active. Your heart is like a vault. You want to keep it filled full of good
things. If you let the enemy fill your
heart with bad things, then it won’t be long until there is a room with a door
and a padlock and you hold the key.
God wants to fill our treasures. For these parents, God wants to fill the
treasures of your hearts, your minds, and your lives with how to be good parents.
For those that are caring for their elder parents, these are
bad times. There are people out there
waiting to take advantage of whomever that they can. When people are independent and make their
own moves here, there, and somewhere else, it isn’t so bad that they lose their
wealth it is what it does to them.
When people try to con someone, they become secretive and
often don’t take counsel. Then when
people lose whatever money that they have, and they have been independent and
ugly about it, then the pain. They are
hurting inside and they have been ripped off.
The answer: God wants to fill their treasures.
When we are in difficult situations, they happen to us all,
there is only one thing to do and that is to get before God and stay there and
pray and pray until you get your mind out of it and the hounds quieted. God says, “Keep yourself pure and do all you
can to help that little child.”
His fullness, his wisdom, His grace, His strength, His love
and His power are there for us, we don’t have to take it but it is available.
