Brother Bob Sunday School 5/6/12

Brother Bob Sunday School 5/6/12
Thank the Lord for the Word of God: Complete instruction of how to get to heaven!  Every promise in the book is ours if we are saved from our sins.

This lesson is about choices.  We are what we are and where we are by the choices we make.  I cannot stress enough how important it is to serve God, to accept the blood of Jesus Christ to cleanse and wash us from all sin.

Jer 29:11  For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

God loves us and wants us to make heaven our home.

1Pe 1:23  Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

The Word of God by the Spirit of God is all in all for Christians.  It is God’s word for us today.  It is more sure than an audible voice from heaven.  Thank the Lord we have it.  We don’t have to be forever lost but can make an eternal home in heaven.

Rev 10:9  And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.
Rev 10:10  And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.

This Holy Word of God, we need to take it all and eat it up:  Apply it to our life.  It is very good instruction.  By doing this, we will have peace and joy and righteousness.  We will be home in the Kingdom of God.

Rev 10:8  And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.
Rev 10:9  And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.

Some things will not be as pleasant as others but we must take it all and eat it up: apply it to our lives.  These last days are the seventh seal days and the Bible is wide open.  God has opened the scriptures to His people.  We must take the vegetables as well as the dessert.  The vegetables strengthen our body and help us to keep our weight down; even so the trials and the hard things help us to grow.

What bothers me the most about the trials is when I have to go through the same one more than once.  God allows us to go through them again because we didn’t learn what we needed to learn the first time.  To get what God wants to teach us we must stay in the Spirit.  When we get knocked out of the Spirit then we will have to go through the trial again.

If we fail a trial, there is no going on.  We must repent and go through it right.  If we go on and try to ride over the failure then we are being rebellious and disobedient to the Spirit of God.  If we keep on going that way then the Word tells us that we will be turned over to a reprobate mind.

Pro 13:20  He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

It is important who we walk with, who we fellowship and spend our time with.  Fools need to be saved, but we don’t want to be close companions with them.  We want to be close enough that we love them and can help them get saved.

True wisdom only comes from God.  The saints are the only truly wise people.  Those that have rejected truth and have gone their own way are not wise.  All of them have a spirit and it is out to destroy the people of God.

Mat 7:14  Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

The way of salvation is strait, narrow.  It is the Word of God; it is Jesus Christ the door, “By the blood of Jesus Christ.”  This is why it is so important to take all of the little book.  We cannot presume upon God.   We must be obedient to His Word.  As obedient children we must cling to peace, joy and righteousness with diligence.

There is no peace, joy, and righteousness in strife.  We must stay away from strife to stay in the Kingdom of God.  Don’t go into strife when there are those would try to drag you in.  Strife is not God’s way.  When we do the will of God and stay in the Spirit of God then we are doing the right thing.

When people go off from the church then they become the enemies of truth; don’t go that way.  Those that have gone off will try to affect us with the very foolishness that took them out.  We need to be very careful of what we listen to and receive.  They were deceived and we are not any stronger than they were in our self.  Our only safety is in handling things the way the Word of God tells us to.

We cannot throw stones back; if we are carnal then we are not in the Spirit.  We need to take stands in a way that lets them know that we love them.  Sometimes the best answer is silence.  If we enter into strife and are offensive to them then it will not work to bring them back to God.  If we don’t stay in the Spirit then we will not stay in the Kingdom of God.

Sister Sue - Some of the backsliders would take offense no matter what we do.  If we look at them or do not look at them then we will be considered as doing something wrong.

Brother Gyme and Sister Timberly - Their hearts are evil so they have evil imaginations.  We cannot let them change us but be the same all the time.  Love them, be kind, but go on.  We want to be the same all the time because that is what is stable.  We must labor to not struggle with our emotions but be the same all the time.  We can rise above it when someone does us wrong if we are the same all the time.

Our beloved enemy: Jesus died for every lost soul.  It is our job to love them and win them.  How are we going to do that?  We love our neighbor and we want to do right by them and be faithful to their soul.

Luk 6:27  But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,

When we have someone that hates us, to them we are their enemy.  We however are not their enemy.  We love them.

Luk 6:28  Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

This is good instruction from Jesus Himself.  This is loving our enemy.

Luk 6:29  And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.
Luk 6:30  Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
Luk 6:31  And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
Luk 6:32  For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
Luk 6:33  And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
Luk 6:34  And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
Luk 6:35  But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
Luk 6:36  Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
Luk 6:37  Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

We need to love our enemy and help them get back to God.  Look down the road for the prodigal and help them to get home.

Bro Bill - We are in a real warfare.  The ones that have left us and gone on have not handled the warfare right.  Many times we can see the fruits before people leave.  I have a big job to just take care of myself.  As God would have me help others, I want to do that too.  Anything that God shows me I need to be washed of, anything that I need to take care of, I want to do it.  He that becomes a pillar shall go no more out.  If we will take good care of our soul then we will not have to worry about going out.  Individually we need to take care of our souls.  At one time others loved God too.  Sometimes I feel like I have to put in a knot in the rope and hang on.

Sister Sharron - God has a plan for us to seek and save the lost.  We don’t want to be sidetracked with these things that will muddy us and keep us from staying clear.  It is not our job to straighten anyone out.  It is God’s job.  If we do to them what they did to us then we will be going the way they are.  We must leave things with God.  If He cannot straighten them out then I doubt that we can.

Sister Brenda - The work of the church is to win the lost and help each other.  We have a full time job doing just that.

Mat 5:44  But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Mat 5:45  That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
Mat 5:46  For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
Mat 5:47  And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
Mat 5:48  Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
