Brother Gary Sunday Evening 6/28/15

Brother Gary Sunday Evening 6/28/15
Rom 12:21  Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

God inspired the apostle Paul in his writing on consecration to have us have an understanding that when we are faced with evil to overcome it with good.

We have been taught and we want to teach:  you are going to have temptations and battles.  There will be opportunities to live on the borderline, apostatize, enter into temptation, or gossip.  It is not enough to not enter in.  God wants us to overcome that with good.

It is not just enough to ask God to still the voice of the accuser, we need to put into practice that which is good.  We need to be rejoicing and thinking and planning for that which is good.

Jer 31:10  Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.

This is one of the keys of getting into position to hear the Word of the Lord.  People can be in the courtyard or far away from God.  If they will desire to hear the Word of the Lord, there is a definite place where God communes with us, we see that in the Word.  God speaks to people other places too.  He spoke to me at the brazen altar when I began to confess and turn from my sin, I felt the burden of sin fall away.

We have a world that hasn’t heard and don’t grasp what God would like to do for them.  That is where we can explain that there is a place where they can be forgiven of all their committed sin and never sin again.

Sometimes it is better to not know a lot when you get saved.  It is harder to unlearn than it is to learn.  If you don’t hang up your clothes when you take them off, then you will have a room like mine.  If when you take off your socks you don’t put them in the dirty clothes, you will have a stinky bedroom.  If we create bad habits, “I am not going to have devotions today but read my book.”  It will not be long and you will have a bad habit.

There is a place that we can be washed.  I thank God for it.  We go to the laver and say, “God wash me and search me.”  When God begins to work with us, we take the word of God and wash.

We get in to the sanctuary and there is food on the table, it is the bread of life.  There is fresh food every Sabbath.  We eat of the good things of God that are fresh every day.

The light, we come back to the golden alter, “God I am yours today afresh.”  It is the experience made anew.  Some have already killed a deer or elk, some have already caught a fish, some have already rode a horse, the horse lovers will not say, “I have already rode a horse.  I am done.”

“God I am a living sacrifice today.  I am yours today.”  That is the way into the Holiest of Holies.  God made a way through His son Jesus that we could enter into there.  There is the table of covenant, the Aaron’s rod that budded, there is the golden pot of manna.

I want to be challenged two steps forward.  That was a golden pot of manna.  Many are flippant about serving God, they pray, “Old man upstairs…”  There are those people, “I have my devotions going across the door step.”  Look where that led them.

There is a golden pot of manna in there.  I want it.  I want everything that God has for us.

Hear the word of the Lord.  God wants everyone to hear it.  God has a plan of gathering His people all in one fold.

Jer 31:11  For the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he.

One of the names of the Ark of the Covenant is the ark of strength.  When you need strength and are facing the uncertain, when you are shaking and trembling thinking, “I want to talk to that individual.”  Suppose that you are burdened for one of the saint’s children, no matter who it is, “God I need your strength to show the love of God.

Isa 1:18  Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Sister Alice brought the thought of the man that is reading the bible, but does not apply it to his life.  He needs to take the two steps, be willing and obedient.  When you need strength get into the Holiest of Holies.

Jer 31:12  Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the LORD, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.

Wherever we are there are heights to gain that are gained by being humble before God.  After you have gained it, you don’t keep it to yourself.  I want something to gain from you.  The sisters didn’t cook and leave the best at home but took it to the dinner.  “God I want to take those two steps up on mount Zion and sing a song.”

They will flow together:  Feeling that warmth and that smile.  Isn’t that wonderful?

Their soul shall be like a watered garden.  This is a good season for growing if you have a lot of water.
