Bro Gyme Sunday Morning 2/5/12

Bro Gyme Sunday Morning 2/5/12
Gen 1:1  In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Gen 1:2  And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Gen 1:3  And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
Gen 1:4  And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
Gen 1:5  And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
Gen 1:6  And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
Gen 1:7  And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
Gen 1:8  And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
Gen 1:9  And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
Gen 1:10  And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
Gen 1:11  And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
Gen 1:12  And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
Gen 1:13  And the evening and the morning were the third day.
Gen 1:14  And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
Gen 1:15  And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
Gen 1:16  And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
Gen 1:17  And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
Gen 1:18  And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

There is something about the story of creation that inspires faith in me.  God is the God of the whole universe.
Our problems may be big to us but God is the God of the whole universe and He made us.  He knows us better then we know ourselves.  He is more than able to help us, take care of and see us through whatever comes up in life.

Isa 40:1  Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.
Isa 40:2  Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD'S hand double for all her sins.

Comfortably – speak to us from on high, speak to our heart.  It is a comfort when God speaks to our heart, when He speaks to our soul.

Life can be hard, but God knows how to speak to our hearts and help us to get through.  That hardship of sin was a real hardship.  Sin is a hard taskmaster.  As we look back we can know this.

Isa 40:3  The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

God knows how to prepare the way for us.  When He makes a path for us He makes it a plain path.  It is not a confusing path; it is a straight and plain path.

Isa 40:4  Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:

God is more than able to take care of the difficulties that you have in life.  There will be valleys and hills in life.
If you are here and alive there will be.  God will make a way for His people.

Isa 40:5  And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
Isa 40:6  The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:
Isa 40:7  The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.
Isa 40:8  The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

We are like the grass, we are weak vessels.  Remember where your strength comes from.  The Word of the Lord will stand forever.  What God says will stand forever it will never change.

What if some don’t believe?  There will be some that come along that will not believe.  “Shall their unbelief make the Word of God without effect?”  No, His word has never failed.  His word is a sure thing.

The more I learn, the more I realize that God is a God of order.  His creation wasn’t all mixed, there is day and night.  The seed of an apple tree brings forth an apple tree.  God has an order to the universe.  God is able to do the miraculous and change things, but we reap what we sow.  It is ordered that way.  If you sow something that is what you will reap.

That thought helps us to be stable.  He doesn’t change.  We can count on it being just as He says it will be.  When He says that he will lower the mountains and lift up the valley, that is just what He will do.

Gen 8:22  While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

Don’t lose any sleep over the thought of global warming.  This comes from paganism, they worship the earth.
People don’t want to cut trees down but they live in wooden houses.

People fall into that because they are looking for something.  They are empty but this gives them a cause and they will save the earth.  God knows about the polar bears.  He is a God of order.

If you listen to the news very much you could lose sleep.  Don’t be bothered about it.  God is the God of order He will not let anything happen that is not according to what He allows.  It is loud today; there is an unrest in the world.  This is not from God.

God’s order will stand.  How He says it will go is the way that it will go.  When He says that He will do something then this is how it will come about.  He is the God of order.

Isa 40:12  Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?
Isa 40:13  Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor hath taught him?
Isa 40:14  With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding?
Isa 40:15  Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.

You and I will have problems because that is what life brings.  God is a god of balance and He will also bring good things.  If we are fighting our own battles then we will miss the good things that God has for us.  We will miss the blessings of family, of the saints, of friends, and of God if we are not in the right place.

He sits on the circle of the earth; He is a Big God.  Kepler was a man in the 1600’s who came up with the laws of planetary motion.  He discovered that planets traveled in elliptical orbits.  The laws he discovered are still used by scientists today.  God’s laws do not change.

We think that we are so smart: God gives knowledge to whom He chooses.  We still cannot figure out how the Egyptians built the pyramid.

God knows what He is doing.  From the beginning of time God knew that we would need a savior.  He aligned it so that that star of Bethlehem would be at that exact spot at the exact time that the savior was born.
Think of all the decisions that were made and all the people that moved to where they needed to be so that baby would be born at that exact spot and at that exact time.

The fact that you are here today is not by chance.  Don’t think it is by chance who you run into.  God is a God of order.  He knows how to take down hills.

Isa 40:25  To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.
Isa 40:26  Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.
Isa 40:27  Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God?
Isa 40:28  Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

When we don’t know, God knows.  Are you feeling faint, tired, and are you worn out?  He knows how to give you strength.

Isa 40:29  He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
Isa 40:30  Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
Isa 40:31  But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Whether you are young or old you will get tired.  There are times in our life we go through seasons where we don’t know if we’re going to make it.  We are exhausted.  Everyone gets tired.  It doesn’t matter where you start with strength, when you get to zero it is zero.  When you are worn out, you are worn out.  Recovery time is where youth comes in.  As we age it takes us longer to recover.

Life has a way of draining us.

Ecc 9:11  I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.

Life happens to us all.  Chance - impact, chance, occurrent, (actually occurring or observable, not just potential or possible.)

In life we will go through difficulties.  Life is universal.   Everyone gets tired.  Life is universal.  Spiritually it will be the same way.  We will get tired and worn out.

Life will have an effect and impact on us.

Mat 5:45  That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Mat 11:12  And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

Life will be pressing.  Life doesn’t stop when you are tired.  Life goes on.  When difficulties come life keeps right on going.

They that wait on the Lord will renew their strength.

Isa 57:15  For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

Be ye holy for I am Holy.  If we will be humble and understand our place that we are just dust, small, and that God is God.  If we will come as a son humble and acknowledging that He is God and we are nothing, then God will revive us.

If you try to be spiritual then it will not happen.  Say, “God I need you.  I need you to exalt the valley and lower the mountain.”  It is not in our strength that we get help from God.  We come and humble ourselves.  He revives us.  He revives us spiritually and in the inner man.  God wants to revive, quicken, repair, restore…

God wants to bring us through whatever we are going through.  It is not always bad, we are a blest people.  Sometimes we are riding the good times.

Life will happen.  We don’t know what will happen tomorrow or what we will face when we get home.  Losing a loved one is hard.  People have a lot of advice.  Everyone deals with things differently and the only way to get healed is to go through the grieving process.  God knows how to exalt the valley and lower the hills.  God knows how to bring us through the hard time.

Revive, quicken, repair, restore…  Sometimes we need quickened.  God knows that we need rest.  I pray that God sends a fresh flood of the blood on my mind and heart to revive me.  God knows how to bring us through.
