Sister Karen Sunday Evening 12/11/11
Mar 1:14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
Mar 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
Gal 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
Every book in the Old Testament prophesied of Christ, either directly or by protecting and providing the lineage of Christ. Ruth provided the lineage of Christ. Esther protected the lineage of Christ.
There are many promises in Psalms of the Messiah coming. Daniel prophesied of the messiah almost to the day that he would come. He interpreted of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream of the image with the head of gold down to the legs of iron and clay, which was the Roman Empire. It was a part of the prophecy of Christ. Micah prophesied of where the Messiah would be born.
We have all of these promises and they help to fill up and make up the prophecies and complete the fullness of time.
The wise men went to Hared but the angels went to the shepherds.
When the fullness of time was come:
The language was one language. This was a part of the fullness of time. The lineage had to be set up. Both Mary and Joseph were descended from David. It had to be the right mother, a virgin. It had to be the right dad. It all was lined up.
Hared had the temple built and it was a part of the fullness of God.
Simeon had the savior in his arms in the temple. This would be wonderful, but we can have him in our hearts. Anna went daily to the temple seeking the Christ and finally he came. The temple was a part of Jesus’ ministry.
There was a road system built by the conquerors before the Romans and also by the Romans. This allowed travel and they were all called to their home city for tax collection and this was a part of God’s plan. The planets were lined up to product the beautiful star.
Because the Jews were expecting the messiah to deliver them from the Romans and because he wasn’t what they expected they rejected Him. We need to take a lesson from this.
The forerunner John the Baptist had to be lined up. Elizabeth and Zechariah were the chosen parents.
This helps us realize and helps our faith to know that He keeps His promises. He is coming again and has promised to help us be ready. As we see all His promises fulfilled we know we can count on His promises. In this beautiful Christmas season we can rejoice and know that He keeps his promises.
