Bro Gary Wednesday Evening 7/27/11

Bro Gary Wednesday Evening 7/27/11
Psa 50:1  A Psalm of Asaph. The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.
Psa 50:2  Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.

God has called men and women from early to late so to speak.  Zion is the city where God dwells according to Hebrews chapter 12.  This is the reason why it is important that we forsake not the assembling of ourselves together because when we are together God is shining out of us to each other.  His grace is the inspiration of God in the souls and its reflection in the life.

God is light and in Him there is no darkness at all.  God shines into the life and heart and the light shines out with their testimony.  God always comes through.  God always comes to our rescue.

The perfection of beauty – It is an amazing thing how the Spirit, the Word, and the grace of God beautifies the meek with the grace of salvation.

Psa 133:1  A Song of degrees of David. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

It is wonderful when you hear the prayer requests and you feel the agreement of the saints in prayer and when God answers, you feel the rejoicing together of the saints.

Aaron was anointed from the top of his head and down to the skirts of his garment.  It is a wonderful thing when God shines into our heart and it affects the whole being.  It affects our mind, our emotions and our conduct.

God shines into the hearts, the minds, and the spirits of those that are redeemed in Zion.  The light of God shining brings a definite beauty.  He not only shines into our hearts, but he shines through His people in their example.  There is no greater teacher or witness than your life as an example.  When in difficulty, your conduct shows God’s light shining through.

In AD 33 or AD 34, Paul experienced great light shining out of darkness.  To each of us that is burdened for a soul or some souls in darkness, Acts 9 is so encouraging.  Paul, known as Saul, was on a bad mission to bring havoc to the saints of God and a great light shone from heaven.  In the minds of some that knew him, they didn’t foresee him turning around and seeking God.

This God whose Son’s name is Jesus is indeed a God of power and a God of miracles.  Those that you are praying for may have no intention of getting saved or may think that they will get saved on their death bed.  Because we know God we can have faith that as the one that wrote the song, “I went there to fight, but surely that night, someone got a hold of me.”

Time is a marvelous teacher.  Paul wrote:

2Co 4:3  But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
2Co 4:4  In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

God help us to not hide the light of God.  Sinners are blinded in their minds.  Hypocrites and Babylonians are blinded in their mind.  Souls that are in darkness need a miracle.  They are blinded in their minds.  I’m very impressed with the words of Jesus Christ.  In Luke 4 Jesus said that He came to give the recovering of sight to the blind.  It is seldom in the literal that someone after losing their sight recovers it.  Jesus promised that He came to recover the sight of the blind.

In Luke 4 Jesus is teaching the people that have lost their way and knew better than the life of sin; those that knew better than to go to Babylon, knew better than to commit moral sin, knew better than to have no standard in their life, and knew better than living without having devotions.  We serve a God that restores the sight to the blind.

2Co 4:1  Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;
2Co 4:2  But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

Whatever the Word of God teaches, do it; don’t be crafty.  We all know those wise guys that look down their nose on everyone and are super smart… Hold on, who do they think that they are deceiving?

Someone that isn’t saved doesn’t carry any weight with me at all.  They may have lots of ability, but who doesn’t have.  Anyone that doesn’t serve God isn’t sharp at all.

What are they going to gain when they twist the scriptures for their own gain?  We serve the God of eternity.  He will have the final say of whether we go to heaven or hell.

Paul said the true light had taught him to live right day and night.  Shine for God so that you know how to pray.

2Co 4:5  For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.
2Co 4:6  For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

He has shined in our hearts.  To those that have been blind in their mind, He has shined in their hearts.  When God’s light shines in our hearts then we know how wonderful salvation is and that our conscience is clear.

We are very rich to know how to deal with our past.  People don’t know how to deal with the past.  People don’t know how to deal with the present.  They are drinking and watching TV, they don’t know how to have any quiet time.  People don’t know how to deal with the future.  It is in the lap of God and He always comes through.

We have this treasure in earthen vessels.  It is wonderful to know how to pray and have God as our Father and to have peace and joy in our mind and heart.  It is wonderful to know that if I’m not here in the morning, that I’m in a better place.  The enemy works fears on our mind; God is able to take care of us.  He is God.  Don’t accept evil tiding.

2Co 4:7  But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
2Co 4:8  We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

Troubles we have some, but we are not distressed because light has shown on our pathway.  Aren’t you glad that the hardness of your heart and blindness of your mind has been broken?

We don’t ever have all the answers.  God intended that we don’t have all the answers.

2Co 4:9  Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

God is just and incorruptible so those that are against you cannot turn God against you.

We are going to go through valleys and hard places but as the Bible says, we’re not going to be destroyed.

2Co 4:10  Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
2Co 4:11  For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
2Co 4:12  So then death worketh in us, but life in you.
2Co 4:13  We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
2Co 4:14  Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
2Co 4:15  For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.

We can have the abundance of grace.

2Co 4:16  For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
2Co 4:17  For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

We need God’s light to shine on us when we’re in pain.  Maybe Paul was thinking of one of his comrades that he’d known before.  “The pain that I am having tonight would be a light affliction compared to my classmate as he was dying, gasping for breath, pain griping his body, and death sweat on his brow.”

It is only for a moment; it will all be over very soon.  Let the true light shine into your heart so that it will work a far more exceeding and eternal weight in glory.  They are designed to take your mind off of the things that are seen.

2Co 4:18  While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

God shine in our mind and heart.  May our minds not be blinded by the gods of this world.
