Bro Gary Sunday PM 6/5/11

Isa 11:10  And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

The second emphasis on His rest:  Rest was lost and can be gained.  This morning I titled the lesson as ‘the beginning of unrest’ and started in Genesis 3 and read to verse 15.  I’d like to pick up tonight where I left off this morning.

Gen 3:15  And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

Enmity means hatred.  Satan is in outrage and hatred against Jesus Christ in every form.  Isaiah 11 gives no indication that the wolf, the bear, the lion, the snake and the cockatrice is good in any way.  That nature is bloodthirsty and evil.  The cockatrice is the state of being a monster that the enemy will lead men, women, boys, and girls to that yield to evil and yield to evil again and again.  The devil is full of hatred and blood chilling intentionstoward any and all things that have to do with Christ. 

The seed of a woman shall bruise Satan’s head.  This is a prophecy of Christ.  Jesus Christ is the only way to deliverance from this nature.  There is no other way.  The millions of dollars that are spent on alcoholism and drug rehabilitation do not deliver those that are rehabilitated.  They may stop the action, but they are always addicted.  They cannot go and have one scoop of ice-cream because there are some of the flavors that will turn them back into their addiction.  We serve a mighty God; He is able to deliver completely.  We are blessed to know Jesus and His deliverance. 

Many of the drug addicts have become so because of excruciating pain or they might not have been able to cope with an extreme difficult situation in life.  That poor person that takes the pain meds can become hooked on them.  Their body craves it.  There is only one way of deliverance. 

You talk about being in bondage; anything out there in sin is addictive.  Adultery is addictive.  We can thank God that we are not bound by moral sin.  Gossip can only be delivered from through Jesus Christ.  There is help and safety through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.  If it wasn’t for Christ I could have been a monster, a cockatrice.  As great as many may have been, all the God that they had didn’t save and sanctify their children. 

It is sad what has happened to people.  There is safety in staying true to God.  We want to stay true to God.  We want to love God, His word, and holiness.  We want to have a Godly standard in our heart against everything that is wrong and corrupt.

Isa 53:5  But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

It is marvelous how through Jesus Christ Satan’s head is bruised every time a sinner is converted.  It is bruised every time we resist temptation, every time we gird up the loins of our mind.  Every time the enemy comes in like a flood and you say I’m not moving, Satan’s head is bruised.  We could choose many things to serve self but every time we choose to be a living sacrifice, Satan’s head is bruised.  Every time we love God more than anything else Satan’s head is bruised. 

We live in a world that is looking everywhere for something to satisfy.  None of the things in the world will satisfy.  It takes Jesus.  Satan’s head is bruised every time we have devotions. 

I have taken upon me to read the bible every time before I take a nap and pray for the one that gave me the Bible.  I don’t know if it is doing him any good, but it is doing me good.  There are a lot of things that need to be done, but when you want to be alone with God and meet with God, the devil feels a smash on his head.  Whether you have devotions or don’t the enemy will still be on the rampage.  So don’t fear making him mad.  There is nothing too hard for God.  We don’t need to tread lightly around the devil.

Sometimes it is a battle for faith every minute of every hour of every day.  We are in a battle and I’m going choose to believe God.  “Where would we go, for thou hast the words of eternal life?”  Forget the thought that everything needs to be perfect in your life.  Each of you in this audience has a home and a washing machine.  We have much to be thankful for tonight.  The price of gas is terrible but we are still buying gas.  Complaining doesn’t change the price.

Satan loves the thought of “We all sin more or less every day.”  People go through the form of repenting every night but have no victory in their life.  Every minute of the day that we live holy before God, Satan’s head is bruised.

Satan head is bruised every time we overcome an accusation.
