Brother Rick Sunday School 2/2/14
We want to have God rule our lives.
Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is
given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be
called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The
Prince of Peace.
It is so good that the government is on His shoulder and we
can leave our lives and decisions and everything to God. He wants to help us. His divine government is very different than
man’s. Men have come up with many
different forms of government and all of them fail eventually.
God knows everyone of us personally. Our God, with the government on His shoulders,
knows about us personally and can supply all the needs we have in our lives.
Thank God we have someone that is wonderful to lead and
guide and direct us through life. He
only wants to bless you and give good things.
In communist countries the government wants to own everything and only
give a little to people.
He is the counselor. He is there to give counsel in everything that
we do. He wants to help not only in our
spiritual life, but in everything that we do He wants to give us that counsel.
He is the mighty God.
He can change things. I want Him
to rule and reign in my life! Situations
that seem impossible to us in our family are not impossible with God. He can change things.
He is the everlasting father and can love like no earthly
father ever can. He is a ruler that
truly loves us. We have had good rulers
in our land but they cannot love us on a personal level and know all our
needs.
I thank God for the godly principles that this country was
founded on. If we are going to keep it
we must keep the principles in our life.
As we slip as a people from these principles it slips from our
government.
Sometimes it amazes me how, with little needs I have in
life, I pray and ask God to help me, and He will help me on the smallest
thing. If I drop a little thing and
cannot find it, He helps. God wants to
help us on the smallest needs and the largest.
God understands us.
He knows everything that is coming down the road and knows how to
prepare us for whatever is coming our way.
I am glad that the government is on His shoulders.
Omniscient: possessed of universal and complete
knowledge. God knows all things.
He is the prince of peace!
Don’t you appreciate the peace of God in your life? Peace is worth more than all the gold and
silver if we could have it.
Isa 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace;
and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Brother Gyme - If something is from God, it will always
bring peace. We can tell when the enemy
is working, he never brings peace. The
principle of the Marxist government is ungodly.
There have been more people killed under that government in peace time
than in all the wars of the world combined.
The principle that it is founded on is wickedness. We need to be thankful and hold up the
constitution because it came from godly principles. We need to hold the standard of freedom,
liberty, and have peace with one another.
We need to pray for godly leaders unless the people turn
back to God and we have Godly leaders the depravity of man will take us down.
Rom 9:20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest
against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?
Who can make any argument against the principles of
God? His principles are right, holy, and
good.
There is no argument against God. Naysayers against Christianity may say, “You
have to do this or that.” God is all
knowing and His motives are only right and good and He wants to help us in our
life. We must have faith that God is on
our side. We need to put every bit of
faith and confidence in Him.
The way of the transgressor is hard. We can go to bed at night and pillow our head
in peace because we know that what we did is right. God is the God of peace, He will not fail us.
God is not a dictator.
He is a loving father. He is in
it for what He can do for us, not for what He can gain. He is a God of love.
Jesus has no desire to control us. It is sad how when socialism and different
forms of government start moving in it is because people and the leaders want
to control people. I want only God to
control me. I know that things will work
out right if I let God be the controller.
Jesus said, “If you will.”
He didn’t say, “You have to.” He
wants a willing service. Thank God we
have been exposed to the truth and can live right. Look what happens when your government is not
God’s. People get turned over to all
sorts of things.
We want to get though this probation period here on earth
with the victory. The reward is so great
and wonderful that we want to make it. I
want to submit to Him. There are a lot
of things in life that we enjoy that are fine but we don’t want to be
overcharged in any of them but let God be our governor.
In the work that I do, I may get wound up and think, “I got
to get this done and that done.” If King
Jesus has something for me to do and I obey that still small voice and obey God,
then when I come back to my work it seems I get a whole lot more done than
otherwise.
I want my ears more tuned to hearing the voice of God. He only has blessings for us, blessing after
blessing. Lord help me to not be selfish
but obeying the Word of God.
It helps us to do only the things that are beneficial to
us. It is a blessing to work with the
lost and show love to those that are unlovely.
Isa 11:2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon
him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might,
the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
Isa 11:3 And shall make him of quick understanding in
the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes,
neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:
Isa 11:4 But with righteousness shall he judge the
poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the
earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay
the wicked.
Isa 11:5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his
loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
Doesn’t it make you respect someone that has these
attributes with the Spirit of God resting upon them? It is talking of Jesus here.
We need to work at keeping the fear of the Lord in our
life. We don’t want to lose the fear of
the Lord when we are being lighthearted.
We can have fun and laugh but we want to keep the fear of the Lord in
our life. He has so much available for
us; who would want to go their own way?
We have seen the effects in the life of those that go the
wrong way. Who would want to leave
God? It gets miserable without God when
we try to direct our own life.
Man’s wisdom directs into a lost condition, trying to find
their way out. In that condition they
will go after this and that to try to find satisfaction in life. The only satisfaction is being one of God’s.
He wants to give divine direction in our life. He wants to help us miss those pitfalls that
would bring shame and disgrace upon our person.
We are not looking for respect but it sure feels good to have
respect. We cannot expect it from those
that are opposing truth but we can know in our heart that we are doing what we
know that God wants us to do.
God wants us to have the attitude that we can learn through
our difficulties and can learn and be made more like Him. God is in control of everything. He either allows the situation or has worked
the situation to cause us to be more like Him.
If we can only keep our eyes and ears open and tuned to Him
it is astonishing what He can teach us.
It is a blessing to submit to God and acknowledge that He is all
knowing. What do we know? We have the puny ideas of man.
God wants us to be knit together in love and be a comfort to
one another. His government is a
government of loving kindness.
Sister Darla: We don‘t have a dirty dusty piece of mercy, we
have new mercies every morning.
Man’s government is nothing like God’s
Ronald Regan: government is not the solution to our problem
it is the problem.
The government of man, as good as it could be, is nothing
like the government of God.
Col 2:3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom
and knowledge.
God has such treasures for us! We need to dig for them for they are hid in
glorious scheme of Christianity. It is a
glorious plan that God has!
God is going to check us out to see if we are going to go
His way. It is imperative that we go His
way and don’t get lukewarm. God help me
to always hear the voice of God. We will
reap what we sow. If we do our best to
follow after God and let Him shoulder the government, then we will reap
blessings in our life.
Nothing can be hid from our king. Obedience is the cure for all of our
ills. Isn’t it wonderful that God brings
out the best in us? He knows how to do
that.
2Co 1:4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation,
that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort
wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
We all, at different times, go through difficulties of
life. We can pray for those that are
going through difficulties and do our best to be a comfort to them.
