Brother Gary Sunday Morning 6/10/12
We need to learn how to wait on God. Sometimes His timeframe involves waiting
either so we can get to the place where we have things in total surrender or
just because we need to wait.
The Lord waits that he may be gracious and that he may be exalted.
God waits; He has a definite thought, design, plans and a
definite way of working.
We need to learn the lesson of waiting on God, letting Him
work as He will, and when He works things out, give Him all glory, and praise.
God is a god of judgment; He knows what is best for us
individually, as a family and collectively as the Church.
Blessed are all they that wait for Him.
You may have prayed for a miracle, understanding, or growth
and you haven’t received it yet. It
isn’t the thought that God wants to bless; It is the thought that God waits for
us to wait so that He can bless His people.
We serve a God of miracles, healing, and restoration. There wouldn’t be any in this audience that
has lived in a life of sin that wouldn’t have regrets. He wants to bring us to a healing so that we
are not always shadowed with our failures.
Isa 30:19 For the people shall dwell in Zion at
Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the
voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee.
There is something about the cry of a child. It takes humility to cry out to God. It takes humility to stand up in the congregation
of the righteous and say, “I really need prayer and my children really need
prayer.” We as Americans have heard,
“Everything is great” for so long that we think that things are wrong if things
are not great. Not everything is great.
No one is able to be anybodies savior but God. This doesn’t mean that we cannot help one
another. When God comes to our rescue we
need to learn how to let God help us.
Sometimes we are so starchy that we don’t know how to let Him help us.
Isa 30:20 And though
the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet
shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall
see thy teachers:
Make sure the difficulty is from the Lord. There are many difficulties that we can bring
into our lives. There are troubles that
we can take on. We live in a day when
there is way too much information. We
can buy books, listen to people on the radio and look at the web. You can be loaded with information until your
life is full of fear and difficulty.
That will not help any of us spiritually.
When troubles come, and life will see to it: the eternal God
of heaven will engineer your life so that there is adversity and affliction designed
by God. This doesn’t mean that there is something wrong with you
spiritually. God wants you and me to
learn in the water of affliction to see our teacher, the Holy Spirit and Jesus
Christ. They come as teaching aids to
help you and me to know how to position ourselves so that we can be climbing Mt
Zion.
The Holy Spirit teaches us.
This is not a light thing: praying in the Holy Ghost, walking in the
Spirit and having the Holy Spirit teach us.
It deals with the spiritual side of things, comparing spiritual things
with spiritual.
How we need our eyes anointed so that the word of God can
teach us.
Isa 30:21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee,
saying, This is the way, walk ye in it,
when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
Adversity is designed to cause us to position ourselves so
that we can see God. If we have things
between us and God, when we have something out of its proper position, then we
have an idol in our lives. When the
Spirit of God works with us, anointing our eyes and ears, then we can see that
we don’t have that thing in its rightful place.
We can say, I need to take that thing down.
Isa 30:22 Ye shall defile also the covering of thy
graven images of silver, and the ornament of thy molten images of gold: thou
shalt cast them away as a menstruous cloth; thou shalt say unto it, Get thee
hence.
Isa 30:23 Then shall he give the rain of thy seed, that
thou shalt sow the ground withal; and bread of the increase of the earth, and
it shall be fat and plenteous: in that day shall thy cattle feed in large
pastures.
The more that I read and study the Word of God the more
hungry that I become for the word of God.
Difficulty and affliction causes us to position ourselves to have more
of God.
“The rain of thy seed, that thou shalt sow the ground
withal.” In the last days, as dark as it
is, where people have rejected God and truth and how little of the Word of God
is preached. The very opposite is being
done where the word of God is shining as the light seven fold. And the ground is taking it in, “Lord I want
more of thy word.”
God sends His word; we choose to be good ground. Matt 13 shows four kinds of ground. Wayside soil, you and I chose to not be
wayside soil. It is a choice to not let
the enemy take the conviction of the Word of God when it comes to us.
The second type is stony soil. We choose to not let anything separate us
from God. We choose when the heat comes
to not let it separate us from God. We
choose when the hard times come to get the network out of praying to God: to
pray more and have others pray for us.
We choose to not let the word get choked out.
Life often becomes so full that the word of God is
choked. We all have many things on our
plate. We need our life ordered by the
Lord. Then how much ever room God leaves
on the plate for cares, riches and other things then that is alright.
We must keep God first or we will be apostate and
Laodicean. We will not have anything
flowing out because we don’t have anything flowing in. We choose to be good ground. What ever you are capable of then that is
what you can produce.
Whatever you are capable of if you present yourselves before
God and tell Him, “I don’t want to just be saved enough to keep my marriage
together. I want to present myself to
God, surrender, spend adequate time praying, studying and practicing.”
It is a choice to be good ground. It is a good choice.
Moses chose to suffer rather than to enjoy. I’m not going to tell you that there are not
some pleasures out in sin, but how much enjoyment are they getting out of
it. I see lives that are so empty and
void by what sin and Babylon has to offer.
God has designed that we have light seven fold and walk in
the light and bring forth 100 fold.
Isa 30:24 The oxen likewise and the young asses that
ear the ground shall eat clean provender, which hath been winnowed with the
shovel and with the fan.
The oxen are the laborers.
There is something that as laborers we want to remember: we need to eat clean provender. There is a value in eating the pure undiluted
word of God with the Spirit of God. I’m
not going to try to tell you all the avenues the enemy will use to lead you
away from eating clean provender.
What he likes to do is while you are praying to be
distracted. You say words but your mind
is somewhere else. May God help us to
when we pray, to pray. Enter into the
closet and pray in the Holy Ghost. When
you do this and worship God in spirit and truth there will be a hunger for the
word of God. This word of God is just as
real as it was when Peter preached on the day of Pentecost. There is a price to pay, they had been
praying.
Isa 30:25 And there shall be upon every high mountain,
and upon every high hill, rivers and
streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.
There has always been people that make an issue of some kind
and make their issue be a big deal. They
become absorbed with the idea of going past whatever to no music or no
neckties. I’m not here preaching that
you must have music to worship or a necktie on in order to preach. When men leave what the word of God teaches
to say what is needed to worship God then they leave clean provender.
We reach our hand in fellowship to every blood washed
one. If they see me and an old ugly
spirit arises because I have a necktie then they are not saved. If I see them and an old ugly spirit arises
because they have no necktie then I’m not saved.
As sad as it is with what is going on in Babylon, God doesn’t
want us to get our eyes on Babylon and the emptiness of it. He wants our eyes to be on Him and the light
of the moon will be as the sun and the light of the sun will be seven fold.
Isa 30:26 Moreover the light of the moon shall be as
the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light
of seven days, in the day that the LORD bindeth up the breach of his people,
and healeth the stroke of their wound.
Psa 48:2 Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole
earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great
King.
The Old Testament reveals how beautiful God’s church is for
every situation.
Psa 50:2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God
hath shined.
Eph 2:19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and
foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
Moses prayed, Ps 90, “Let the beauty of Our God be upon us.” God moved upon David and he prophesied in Ps
149: “The Lord takes pleasure in His people He will beautify the meek.”
He beautifies. Daniel
had an excellent spirit. Only God can
beautify the meek with salvation. John
as an elderly man saw God’s church as a holy city coming down from God out of
heaven prepared as a bride for her husband.
The greatness of God has designed that in the Gospel Day men and women
can be prepared for God as a bride adorned.
John then told us that the Holy Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.”
We live in a society where everywhere around you, you look
and see lives that are so messed up.
Jesus is saying “come”, the hearers, those that have come, are saying “come.”
“Let Him that is thirsty come and whosoever will, let him
take of the water of life freely.”
May God help you and I to realize how blessed we are to live
when the sun is shining bright and the moon as the sun. We were invited; we came, and now we have the
message, “Come.”
