Brother Gary Sunday Evening 6/10/12

Brother Gary Sunday Evening 6/10/12
Psa 149:1  Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.
Psa 149:2  Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.
Psa 149:3  Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.
Psa 149:4  For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.
Psa 149:5  Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.
Psa 149:6  Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand;
Psa 149:7  To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;
Psa 149:8  To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;
Psa 149:9  To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.

Everyday God loads us with blessings.  God works in mysterious ways and is able to bring people that thought they would never darken the doors in to learn about him.  There is not a service that goes by when there wouldn’t be burdens and prayer requests.  God also wants us to praise Him.

Thank God for spiritual Zion, the church of God.  For the majority of us, people magnify our shortcomings and forget about theirs.  God takes pleasure in His people.  God can take a life however empty and desolate, poorly trained, and with many losses and if they will get true Bible salvation, He will beautify them as only He can.

We want to thank God for His presence.  ‘High praises of God’ speaks of harmony and melody.  May God help us to have praise, loud enough that others can realize that my soul is very grateful for the family of God, the Word of God.

The two-edged sword is the Word of God.  We are instructed to praise God and then to have the Word of God in our hand.

We live in a mean world that is out to destroy souls.  We look upon precious little children and think how important it is for children to be loved, protected, appreciated and prayed for.  As much as God and His church love children there is a mean destroyer out there.

God has ordained that we praise Him, and that we know how to praise God.  This honor have all his saints.  All His saints have this honor.  There is not one that is super spiritual.  Praise the Lord.

When I was so lost, God n His mercy would draw a line and say, “Don’t go past that line.”  I was in sin but there are some things that if you mess with you will never get back to God.

Heb 4:9  There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
Heb 4:10  For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
Heb 4:11  Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
Heb 4:12  For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Heb 4:13  Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

Aren’t you thankful that the Word of God divides between the soul and spirit?  There will be times when we will face the lions and there will be many evil spirits that will war against us.  The word of God brings protection.

The Word of God is able to dig around clear down to the joints and morrows and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Eph 6:10  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

We are very blessed to have the Word of God.  The church wears a crown with twelve stars in it that represents the 12 Apostles of Christ.  When I read the Bible I am so thankful that there were Holy men moved upon by the Holy Spirit of God so that we have the Bible.

Paul wrote this epistle and sent it to the Ephesians and so beautifully gave us this instruction.

Eph 6:11  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

The devil will try to trick you.  He will not be honest and forthright with you.  He is going to tell you a lie.

Eph 6:12  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

May God help us to understand that we are not fighting against flesh and blood.  Our worst enemy is a spiritual condition.

Eph 6:13  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Keep this Word of God in your hand, keep standing for Jesus walking in the light.

Eph 6:14  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
Eph 6:15  And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Eph 6:16  Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Eph 6:17  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

The fiery darts will come.  Quench all the darts.  The sword is the Word of God but it specifically speaks of the Sword of the Spirit.  The Spirit is a wonderful weapon to fight the enemy with.

God helped Nebuchadnezzar to see the fourth man in the fire.

You cannot separate the Word and the Spirit in this thought:  When we go out to war we need, the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.  We need the word and the Spirit of God.

Eph 6:18  Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Supplication is asking the Father, son and the Holy Spirit to hold evil at bay.
