Brother Gary Sunday Morning 8/10/14
This is a song of Moses and was recorded and given to us:
Psa 90:12 So teach us
to number our days, that we may apply our
hearts unto wisdom.
We are thankful for the accounts of Moses in the Word of God
that tell of us of his life. We are
thankful for his mother and how she built him an ark and pitched it within and
without. Then she put him in it and
placed him in the water. We are thankful
for his sister that waited and talked to Pharaoh’s daughter and ran to get his
mother. He was nourished in his father’s
heart and he was nourished in Pharaoh’s house.
Paul wrote to us:
2Ti 2:24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive;
but be gentle unto all men, apt to
teach, patient,
It is important that we live without strife and without war
in our life. There are a lot of things
that are designed to put us on edge. We must
not strive but be gentle as a nurse. (1Thes 2)
I thought of Jochebed.
She was given her son twice.
Thank God for second chances. Thank
God for giving us another opportunity.
Thank God for that young lady that was given an opportunity;
the world offered other opportunities. She
traveled the road of the world. Probably
sought its pleasures and acceptance and for whatever she found, God caused her
to come to the place where she wanted to come back home.
The devil talks, “It will probably get better.” The broad road will never get better. If you are tempted to give up then think, “What
are you going to give up to? Where are
you going to if you don’t serve Jesus?”
God will not always strive with man. You can emphatically say, emphatically believe,
and be convicted of this thought, “For all of the sinners that you are burdened
for and have been requested prayer for, there will be a window of time when God
specifically deals with them.”
We are dealing with individuals whose lives are in a
terrible uproar. All the foundations of the
world are out of course. There are some
that we are burdened for whose life out of course has reached the elevation of flying
so close to destruction that it is not far away.
A plane can start for whatever place, there is a time when the
plane or helicopter reaches a certain place where it is close to crashing. We remember when the young man was flying
over Glacier Park to Alberta, He got into that big canyon and was not able to
get out and crashed into the park and went into eternity.
Those that are flying according to the foundation of the
world are out of course. That burden
that you have for a soul that is out of course, there will be a window of time
given by God. People say, “I believe
that people can get to God anytime.”
There is a window of time when God deals with souls in a mighty way.
My burden for me, for us as teachers, ministers, servants, individuals
that love God and love souls, I believe that many if not all are called to be
teachers to whatever degree. In order to
teach, we must first be taught.
Timothy was taught by the Apostle Paul, “Don’t get involved
in a lot of wars.” There are always people
that want to put a fire in your tongue and in your mind so that you act upon
whatever it is that you are at war about.
We want to be careful that we don’t become entangled with the fights and
wars of anyplace.
As a nurse to all men:
The word ‘all’: there are some
people that look impossible to teach. It
seems that they are bent to go to hell, bent to be selfish, and bent to have their
own way.
I doubt that all the students that walk through the
classroom door are eager and willing to learn.
If they are not, the teachers here will work to find a window to reach
that girl and boy because they need to know what is going to be taught in that
class.
God wants you to get rid of the mind frame that no one will
believe the gospel. The world wants you
to believe that and the devil wants you to believe that and sometimes our own flesh
wants you to believe that. When the
window opens God help us to be ready.
The thought is, “Apt to teach.” Just because the bible says it doesn’t mean you
are prepared to teach. It takes effort
to teach, to be groomed and ready to teach.
It takes effort to know how to present.
We need to be confident that souls will want the gospel. This is what they need without exception.
We plant seeds; sometimes we have to plant again and
again. We planted beans three times last
year. This year I planted on June 2nd
contender and provider beans, on July 31st we harvested beans
without replanting.
There may be times when you plant the seed and it lays
dormant. Plant it again if God gives you
an open window.
Patient, humble:
there are people that will never be able to help you because they are
not humble. We’ve all heard Preachers that
may have had a lot of ability and may have had good thoughts, but they had
pride in their life and we can learn from their mistake. God help us to be humble.
When we deal with a soul, we need to have the attitude, “I
am here to teach. I realize that without
God I would be lost and undone, way out on the broad road of sin.”
2Ti 2:25 In meekness instructing those that oppose
themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging
of the truth;
As God teaches us to number our days, everyone in this
audience doesn’t have to think long until you recognize that there are
opportunities that are lost forever. It is
a reality.
I am not leaving the thought that you should get out of the
order of the Lord and be rude and tell everyone that unless they repent they
are going to hell, no. I am telling you
that there is a window for us to be prepared and a window of time to teach that
will cause repentance that brings recovery.
Moses was taught of God.
Exo 34:1 And the LORD said unto Moses, Hew thee two
tables of stone like unto the first: and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first
tables, which thou brakest.
Exo 34:2 And be ready in the morning, and come up in
the morning unto mount Sinai, and present thyself there to me in the top of the
mount.
Exo 34:3 And no man shall come up with thee, neither
let any man be seen throughout all the mount; neither let the flocks nor herds
feed before that mount.
Exo 34:5 And the LORD descended in the cloud, and
stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD.
Exo 34:6 And the LORD passed by before him, and
proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and
abundant in goodness and truth,
Exo 34:7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving
iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers
upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the
fourth generation.
‘Will by no means clear the guilty’: There must be repentance to be clear. Without repentance there is no clearing away.
Five points from this lesson: teach us to number our days that we may apply
our hearts to wisdom. The wisdom that I would
like to highlight:
1.
Prepare thy heart to seek God. We live a life of traffic. Traffic on our mind, in our ears, on our
responsibility. Montana has long winters
and short summers, the workload of the summer would wear out young people let
alone those that have some age upon them.
Prepare thy heart to seek God. God spoke to Moses to be ready in the morning. I don’t know what God has for everyone in this audience. But prepare your heart to seek God. Take this window of time to ‘Prepare thy heart to seek God.’

I have experienced the feelings that I had when my daughters
got ready for college as Heather gets ready to go. My heart cry out to God is, “A precious
daughter.” I think of these precious
children as they prepare to go to school.
Oh parents.
Jack and Julie have three teenage children. Prepare thy heart to seek God. Some home school their children. Their thought probably is, “Someday these
will face what we faced. We don’t want
them to face it now.”
Way back in history the Davis family was welcomed into
Canada and then they were booted out of it.
One day their daughters were at the altar in Paradise praying, “Our hearts
are so broken, my mother and my father were mistreated.”
There would be those in this audience that would say, “I don’t
want what happened to me to ever happen to my son or my daughter.”
We have this window of time.
Working doesn’t excuse us. Who doesn’t
work? We have to work. We have to work to be right with God. If you have something then don’t horde
it. Moses came before God and climbed Mt
Sinai.
2.
There are some things that God wants when we are
seeking Him and coming into His presence.
This is a greater challenge than learning calculus. This challenge is being up on that mountain
seeking. I tell every one of you from
the child to the eldest, God has a secret to tell you in the secret place. Before he tells you then you must go into the
secret place.
Come into the secret place with God. People cannot be seen on your mountain. There are times when we must get all of our burdens over before God. There is nothing wrong with praying for mom.
As much as my wife loves me, there are times when she has to be on the mountain all alone. She cannot be thinking of Gary or of our finances. God has some things to tell her. I plead with you, brothers, sisters, get alone with God.

3.
We meet with the described God. The Described God to Moses here was actually
giving God’s names that describe: merciful and gracious…
Oh the depth of being alone with God. We are going to have some teaching and skits tonight. I want someone to help teach us manners. We don’t want to be a rude church or a rude family. We don’t want to be ungracious when we are dealing with whatever.
Longsuffering: we have lived at our address since the fall of 1979. I don’t know how many of you chose to walk our alley and have seen the disgraceful spot where we corner the Porters. Though much patience and longsuffering of my wife, I told you about the stump and when brother Gyme and I broke the strap, finally we got Terry Caldwell.
The stump is gone, we had some friends dig around and dig around. Karen and I dug around. Now she has squash growing there. It has never looked so pretty. She has suffered long for 34 years.
I don’t know how long it will take for you to suffer long with whomever it may be. Oh God teach us to number our days that we may apply our heart to wisdom, that we will be long suffering, patient, and waiting for that window of time.
This God is abundant in wisdom and truth, He keeps mercy for thousands. We don’t believe that just 144,000 will be saved. He keeps mercy for thousands. He forgives sin and iniquity and liberates men and women from the past.

4.
The gospel message is this: He wants us to bring the fleshly tables of our
heart, (2 Corinthians 3:3)
The Word of God will be written on those fleshly tables of our soul. This Word of God is given where there is liberty and gives liberty, verse 17.
The Word of God will be written on those fleshly tables of our soul. This Word of God is given where there is liberty and gives liberty, verse 17.
2Co 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the
Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
2Co 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a
glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to
glory, even as by the Spirit of the
Lord.
5.
We come into that place where our heart is before
God and there is no cattle, or anything of material means. There are no people there.
People are important in our lives, I care about people and we have been blessed with wonderful friends. But there is a secret place with God where all these things vanish, we purposefully choose, “I am here to have God write upon my heart.”
We say, “God have your own way.” As we submit to everything, we have an open face with God. We can see the beauty of the Lord. We have liberty then to be changed.

Every once in a while I have someone say, “I am struggling
with this.” Isn’t it wonderful that you
can get alone with God in the secret place and say, “God the secret is with
you, this thing that I am struggling with… I want to be changed.”
We have liberty to be changed and meet with God as often as
we please.
It is wonderful to meet in the presence of God but as Moses went
down from the mountain I must go down. But
I will be back. One would say, “We go
from glory to glory.”
Teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts to
wisdom.
