Sister Sue Sunday School 10/28/12

Sister Sue Sunday School 10/28/12
Mic 6:8  He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

What does the Lord ask of you: do justly, follow and pursue loving mercy, and walk humbly.

Deu 10:12  And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,
Deu 10:13  To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?

God prevails.

Zec 7:9  Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother:
Zec 7:10  And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.
Zec 7:11  But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear.
Zec 7:12  Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the LORD of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the LORD of hosts.
Zec 7:13  Therefore it is come to pass, that as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the LORD of hosts:

There is a true judgment and there is a false judgment.  Don’t you love when someone shows you compassion?  When there is an option, they could get after you or be disgusted with you but they show compassion.

Don’t even let the devil let you think evil toward another.  Don’t even go there in your heart; what is in your heart will come out your mouth.

Don’t refuse to hearken.  A great wrath is what happens when we don’t obey what the Lord has required.

Zec 8:16  These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates:
Zec 8:17  And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the LORD.

The true judgment is the judgment of truth and peace.  Don’t let people lie about the saints to you.  Don’t accept it.  Tell them, “Let’s go talk to them and let’s go see if that is truth.”  Sometimes people get mixed up and don’t tell it like it is and always there are two sides of the story.

Mat 19:16  And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

Whatever is keeping you from selling out is your rich treasure.  Whatever is keeping you from giving your all is what we need to give up.

The fear of the Lord is: to revere, to stand in awe of, and to give your love and respect.

Ecc 12:13  Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Ecc 12:14  For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Keep commandments means put a hedge around.  Fearing the Lord brings direct great benefits.

1Sa 12:14  If ye will fear the LORD, and serve him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth over you continue following the LORD your God:
1Sa 12:15  But if ye will not obey the voice of the LORD, but rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall the hand of the LORD be against you, as it was against your fathers.
1Sa 12:16  Now therefore stand and see this great thing, which the LORD will do before your eyes.

Following God and fearing Him have something to do with each other.  Fearing God will help us keep in the right way.

Psa 25:12  What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
Psa 25:13  His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.
Psa 25:14  The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

If you respect someone then you will listen to them even if you don’t agree with them.  You will take what they have to say.

Dwell at ease: if we fear the Lord then God is leading us in the way and we can know that it is right.  We are at ease with that.

Secret means counsel, circle of familiar friends, familiar counsel and sweet converse and intimacy with God.

Psa 31:19  Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!

Goodness means joy, gladness, welfare, beauty and prosperity.

Isa 50:10  Who is among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon his God.

You cannot fear the Lord and be in darkness.  If you fear the Lord then you will have the light of God.

Luk 1:50  And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.

This is where the mercy of God will be.

Act 10:35  But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

This is how people are accepted of God.

Pro 16:6  By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.

This is the goal: to have men to depart from evil and to have conviction on their heart that they be saved.

Joh 14:6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Psa 145:17  The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works.

Pro 5:21  For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.

Brother Gary Wednesday Evening 10/24/12

Brother Gary Wednesday Evening 10/24/12
Rev 7:12  Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

If my mother were exhorting tonight, she would tell us that Thanksgiving should be every day.  Tonight it is really important that we are thankful.  I have been so convicted in my own personal life that just because we hope for whatever it might be, that doesn’t mean that they will just fall into our lap because we think they will be nice.

Sometimes we have to put things in their rightful place so that we realize just how much we have to be thankful for.  We live in a world that is self destructing because they are not thankful.  If you every find yourself in a spot where you are not thankful then you are on your way to the broad way and the broad way takes you down really fast.

Rev 7:1  And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.
Rev 7:2  And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
Rev 7:3  Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
Rev 7:4  And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.
Rev 7:5  Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand.
Rev 7:6  Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nepthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand.
Rev 7:7  Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand.
Rev 7:8  Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.
Rev 7:9  After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
Rev 7:10  And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.
Rev 7:11  And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,
Rev 7:12  Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

The great multitude of all nations! This is a great consolation to us.  We serve such a mighty God that His Word and His Spirit deal with every people of every nation.

Of everyone that was sealed of the 144,000; of all the great multitude that was standing before the throne; they are able to be there because of Salvation.  Without Jesus Christ there is no way to be before the throne.

No one can reject Jesus Christ and be saved.  It is a wonderful thing that people that are really saved want to exalt the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.  They will not try to exalt some man.  They understand that salvation comes only from God.

We see them falling before the throne worshipping God: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be unto our God forever.

Everything that we have comes from God.  This is true in the literal and the spiritual.  The fullness of the earth belongs to God.  Everything spiritual that we have is a direct result of the fullness of Christ.  Sometimes we have a violent attack on us that tries to get us just to feel like not thanking, praising, or worshipping God.

This is the reason that there are scriptures that have the wording of ‘overcoming’ and ‘victory’.  It is our choice to overcome.  It is a part of life to feel down sometimes.  This is why we need the Word of God.  We need to take a hold of our self when this happens and say, “I am going to triumph.”

When you don’t feel like praising God, then praise God anyway.  Say “Blessed be God” as Brother Figeroa had all say in Carmichael this year.  When everything else is fading out of sight and we’ve had our last glimpse of this earth, there will still be God.

Everyone that is here has come through some real battles.  You have a right to say, “Blessed be God.”  If someone just got saved yesterday they have a lot to be praising and thanking God for: to be saved and to stay saved.  It will help us to stay saved to say, “Blessed be to God.”

Rev 7:13  And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
Rev 7:14  And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

We don’t want any wrinkles or spots in our life.  We can get before God and be washed by His Word.

Rev 7:15  Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.
Rev 7:16  They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.

I’m so thankful to be satisfied with Jesus.  If you hold things lightly then you will not be caught up with the vanity of this world.  When people make an idol of something and it doesn’t yield what they expected then it becomes vanity to them.  If you make an idol of something then it will become sour.

May God help us to hold things lightly and yet to take care of what God has given us.  When we do things as unto the Lord, then that thing will be in its proper position and it is not our God.  We are going to leave everything behind, but we want to do our best while we are here.

Rev 7:17  For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

It is wonderful to wake up hungry.  I’m going to look up some scriptures when I get up tomorrow morning.  I’m looking forward to being fed from His Word.

God will take care of us and give us just the amount of sun that we need to grow.  We need the sun to live and too much can be a killer.

You may be broken hearted but stay true to God and God Himself will wipe away the tears.

Brother Gary Sunday Morning 10/21/12

Brother Gary Sunday Morning 10/21/12
Joh 17:19  And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

Jesus prayed for His own and for His apostles.  As you read this chapter you see where not only did He pray for these but also for all those that would believe through their testimony.

You come into this picture because Jesus knew way back in AD 33 that there would be AD 2012.  He knew that you were going to be alive and would have needs.  He knew that nothing, of all that is offered in the world today, would satisfy your soul.  He was praying for us.

He was praying for all that would believe.  “For their sakes I sanctify myself.”  The word, ‘sanctify’, has two meanings:  to cleanse and to set apart.  Jesus came into this world pure and holy without a nature to sin.

He lived a sinless life yet he said, “I am going to set myself apart for them.”  He didn’t do this for His own sake.  He could have called 10,000 angels and would never have had to go to the cross.  He went to the cross for our sakes.

Jesus set himself apart for our sake:
1.       He went into the garden and prayed, “Not my will.”  He did this for our sake; He was already a son of God.  He could have just gone back to the father.  He did this for you and for me.
There would be those in this audience that feel that they don’t have much self worth.  You are very valuable as far as God is concerned.  When you realize how much Jesus loves you, that will really help you.
2.       He set himself apart so that we could deal with the failure of others.  People will fail.  We are born with a nature to sin and have a human nature so we will fail.  Even after you are saved and sanctified you will not be able to meet all the expectations of those around you.
Jesus asked His disciples to wait while he went to pray.  He came back to wake them because they could not watch with Him.  He went on to fulfill what He came to do even though people failed Him.  He dealt with the betrayal of Judas and He went right on serving God.  He didn’t get an attitude toward Judas or others.  He didn’t get an attitude towards God.
You and I must set ourselves apart and say the same.  You may have been betrayed by your friends or others but you must continue serving God and not get an attitude.  Take Jesus as your example.
3.       Jesus went through the trials.  He didn’t have a fair trial.  He had a mock trial but He went right on through it.  There may be things in your life that are not right.  It could be your fault.  Maybe someone else in your life has had a mock trial and have treated you wrong.  Learn from Jesus.  He set himself apart so that He could do the will of God.
There are too many good things that we can for us to waste our time trying to correct what others are doing.  It is better to let God settle it than try to settle it our self.
4.       Jesus was mocked.  If you in your journey of life find yourself in a place where people humiliate you and bring up your past and mock you, then let God set you apart.
They chose between Jesus and Barabas, they said, “take Jesus and crucify Him.”
5.       Jesus asked John to take care of His mother.  Sometimes there are things that really need to be cared for that you cannot do yourself.  It is tough sometimes but Jesus had to ask someone else to take care of His mother.

6.       You know about the scourging.  A whip made of leather with a bone or sharp piece of metal put into the end.  The end makes the one that is whipped to bleed.  Jesus went through it.  He set himself apart and went through the scourging for every one of us.

He did it for our healing, emotional, physical, spiritual and whatever healing that you might need.  You might be beat up in your mind this morning.  You might be beat up in your body.  Jesus suffered the pain so that we might be healed.

7.       He set Himself apart and went to the cross.  He was crucified about 1 foot above the earth that He and the Father and the Holy Spirit created.  The cross was probably an old cross and was probably dropped into an old hole because it was a common thing in that day to crucify criminals.  He set himself apart and did it for you and for me.

8.       The nails: he endured the nails so that you and I could be free from sin.

When I was little I was interested in where I came from and where I would go when I died.  I had an identity with eternity.  I knew that there was something in me that was going to live past death.

At that time there had been no sorrows in my life.  I was one of five: my brothers and sister were alive; my parents were alive.  Yet there was a part in me that was concerned with where I was going to go when I died.

I’ve reached an age where I realize that one of these days I’m going to see my last one.  I want to make it to heaven when I die.

There are scriptures in the Bible about being a conqueror.  We have battles after we are Christians so that we can be a conqueror.  That is the reason that there are words like ‘victory’, ‘conqueror’, or ‘triumph’.  With no battles then there would be nothing to triumph over.  We are contested so that we can believe God and have the victory.
9.       He wore that crown so that we  could be conquerors in our life.

The soldier took the spear and fulfilled a prophesy, (Zech 13:1 In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness.)   When Jesus’ side was hit with the sword, a fountain of blood and water flowed out.  This happened so that we could be cleansed from our sin.

I had many pages of sin in the record book.  When I confessed and repented of my sin then all the pages were torn out and I was washed clean from all my sin.

Psa 119:9  BETH. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.

The way that men and women clean up their life is by taking heed to the word of God.  Zech 13: a fountain opened.  How that ties in to today is that the water is symbolic of the Word of God.

On the cross a marvelous thing happened.  There were two prisoners, the one said, “Remember me.”  The other prisoner lashed out and said, “If you really are the son of God, save us.”

If you are sinning and say, “I am a sinner and I cannot help myself.”  Then you are a prisoner.

My aunt isn’t here, Rosa Mae Kelly Knox was a beautiful woman.  When she began going to church, God began dealing with her.  She was from West Virginia and she chewed snus.  One day she began to seek after God and she began to pray, “God I want to serve you, but the snus.”  God cleansed her of that.

There are other habits.  Anything that is unclean: He loses the prisoners.  Our society makes prisoners of people with lots of things.  Anything that would bind us, God can make us free.

Jesus set himself apart.  Before He went to heaven, He had that last glimpse of His mother.  We don’t know when the last time that we will see our loved one is.  He set Himself apart and went right on serving God.   The last glimpse is tough.  The thought of the last glimpse is tough.  It is real but we must go on.  We have a job to do.

Jesus said, “I sanctify myself.”  While Jesus was on the cross darkness came over the whole earth.  Sometimes at the height of our life darkness comes just like that.  Darkness is a part of life and when it comes to us we need to say, “I want to be totally set apart for God so that I get the treasure of this darkness.”  Jesus suffered darkness so that we might have life.

Jesus prayed, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.”  There will be times in our life when we must forgive others even if they don’t ask.  Go ahead and forgive, it will free you.  Jesus prayed, “Into thy hands I commit my spirit.”

Isa 53:4  Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

There will be times in your life when you make the wrong choice and you will bring grief into your life.  Even when we have failed and have brought ourselves grief, God wants us to face it face-first:  “I’ve failed and I’ve asked God to forgive me and I’m going to forgive myself.”  Jesus came to bind up the broken hearted and He came to heal the broken in heart.

No matter how shattered an individual’s life might be, if they will come to Christ, He will pick up the broken pieces of the shattered life, put them back together, and heal their scars.

He was wounded for our transgressions.  He set Himself apart for our transgressions.

Isa 53:5  But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Isa 53:10  Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

When we come to Christ, we don’t have enough money to buy forgiveness.  It is not money that buys forgiveness.  Jesus paid the price for our forgiveness.

1Jn 2:1  My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
1Jn 2:2  And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

John was an old man when he wrote 1 John.  David was an old man when he wrote psalms 23.  We learn things as we get older.

Jesus paid the price for our sins.  He paid the price not only for our sins but for the sins of the whole world.

1Jn 4:10  Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Whatever we like, he made. Whatever you are attached to, he made.

Joh 17:17  Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

Sin is ugly.  Jesus paid the price for our sin. Will you be set apart for God?
